Today on this old boat trailer we are going to be installing a new wheel cylinder. We will be using part number BP17-020 from Redline. As you can see here we already removed the tire and wheel and we are just down to the break assembly. This is the part we are going to replace. First thing we need to do is undo the break line that is going to the wheel cylinder and remove the two bolts. That will be on the other side. Then, just kinda grab it and fork it out of there. 0:44
Here is the new one and here is the old one. You look on the inside here and there is a good amount of rust, so this one has definitely seen some better days. Basically, from here on out we are going to pretty much reverse the procedure and install the new one. In order to help make things easier, we are going to loosen the little bleeder valve so that way we can press in the cylinder a little bit as we install it. Put the cover back on. 1:08
Now let us just go ahead and work the wheel cylinder back into place. Let us just go ahead and work it in here any way we can. Alright, now back to the other side and we will reinstall the bolts and then reinstall the break line. Alright, let us pop off the plug here and reinstall the bleeder valve. We will leave it open just enough so we can actually bleed the brakes. We will attach a rubber line here and run it into a jar and we will start bleeding. Just use a simple piece of rubber line and run it out to the bottle right here. Here is where you will need an extra set of hands. One person needs to open up the valve and the other person needs to work the master cylinder. 1:56
With the bleeder closed, use an extra set of hands to push on the master cylinder and then when it builds pressure we will open it up and release it until the pressure is gone and then we will close it one more time. We will go ahead and bleed the brakes out till we run the air out of the line. That way there will not be any bubbles going into the jar. With that, we are set. All that we have left to do is reinstall the hub and then the tire and wheel.

It was the part I wanted, and it got here pretty quick. I'm satisfied. The picture was better than on other websites, so it was easier to be sure I was getting the right part. (I could see the "R" in this picture.)16044
