Video Transcript for etrailer Trailer Bearings and Races L44649 Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Replacement Trailer Hub Bearing, it's part number L44649. This is a high quality tapered roller bearing which is designed for high speed use. Now all bearings when you purchase them will be stamped with the industry standard number on it regardless of the brand. On this one it will be stamped, if you can see sort of right there, L44649. Now the important measurement on the bearing is the inner diameter and that is listed to help you chose the correct bearing for your spindle. On this one the inner diameter in decimal is going to be 1.063 inner diameter and the matching race that this will sit on is part number L44610. We do sell that separately on our website.

Now the application for this part number is an inner or outer bearing for the BTR Spindle or the outer bearing for the number 84 Spindle. Well that should do it for the review of the Replacement Trailer Hub Bearing, part number L44649.

Want to help out the next customer looking for the bearing, cups, and seals for 2000-01 tracker trailstar trailer. 1st you have to dismantle one of the hubs and see what trailstar decided to put in there the day they built it. You will find the rear cups and seals are considered "Special for some reason". Not a problem for etrailer, they have them in stock and the quality is excellent and are exact replacements. The parts I had to order were cup L68110, cup L44610, seal 168233, bearing L68149 and bearing L44649. Oh yeah, customer service should get a 10 star review. I had an issue with shipping co. because of new driver in my area. Etrailer got all up in their business for me and I didn't have to do anything. Customer service also called me the next day to see if everything was delivered and satisfactory. We need more companys like etrailer.com . Excellent!! 282939

I replaced all the bearings races seals and brakes on a small travel trailer. Bill P.at etrailer took my order and three days later I had everything in my hands. Great job Bill ! All the parts were exact replacements and the install went very smooth. There is video help on their website to show how to make the install easier. I have been dealing with etrailer for several years and have never had a bad experience. I was completely blown away by the pre assembled brakes . Backing plate, shoes, actuators, self adjusters and wiring all ready to bolt on. How much easier can it be? With the best prices, fast shipping and great help on line etrailer is the way to go. 293860

Because my trailer was used i had no idea how repairs were made or if they were made. I am so pleased etrailer.com has reviews most good, some bad and videos with detailed descriptions. I carefully picked through all of it and decided, wisely, to order what was recommended and some extras to be sure. It paid off. I have ordered several things from etrailer.com over the year and never disappointed when i used the sites vast resources. It is so well put together and the "Gold Standard" is the customer support and follow through. I only need to go here for my boat trailer needs. Thanks 297348

Cant say much these bearings ,since they're specified for my trailer and as far as longevity, I swap these out with tire change as a matter of habit, which is about every 8-10k. Can say that the price is suprisingly low and the service is great. I do pack them after every 1-2 k with Lucus Xtra heavy duty grease (dino) 64448

Do you have a question about this Trailer Bearings and Race?

  • How to Determine Replacement Trailer Wheel Bearing Sizes
  • Trailer wheel bearings are specific to the spindle that is installed on the axle that is on your trailer. You will need to safely support the trailer, remove the wheel and tire, remove the grease cap, remove the cotter pin and washer that secures the spindle nut, remove the spindle nut, and then you will be able to remove the hub from your trailer. Once the hub is removed you will be able to get the part numbers from the inner and outer bearings to determine the correct replacement...

  • How to Determine the Correct Hub Assembly for a EZ Loader Boat Trailer Tapered Spindle
  • The only way to be sure the Trailer Hub Assembly, item # 84545UC1-EZ, will fit on your spindle would be to take some measurements or get the bearing and seal part numbers to match up. Since it sounds like you cannot get to the bearings to record part numbers, you will need to use a dial caliper or similar precise measuring tool to take the measurements. The bearings in the # 84545UC1-EZ hub assembly have inner dimensions of 1.378 inches for the inner # L68149 bearing and 1.063 inches...

  • How to Determine The Correct Bearings for My Trailer with 1-1/16 inch Spindle
  • The easiest way to determine the correct bearings for your trailer is to use the industry standard numbers stamped into the lip of the bearings. This would require removal of the hub. Your measurement, 1-1/16 inches, comes to 1.0625 inches and the inside diameter of the, item # L44649, bearing is 1.063 inches which would be a close match. • Torque Rating For Hub Castle Nut
  • There is no specific torque rating for the castle nut that holds your hub in place. We recommend tightening the castle nut down until it stops, and then backing it off to the next notch where the tang washer will fit into the castle nut. Over tightening the nut can lead to the spindles and bearings overheating, which can damage them. Or it could also be a 2-1/8 inch diameter seal # RG06-090. If it is a 3,500 pound axle it likely uses inner bearing # L68149 and outer bearing # L44649 and a 10-19 seal # RG06-050.
