Blue Ox Tow Bars - BX7445

  • Triple-lug connection - sturdy brackets on the end of each tow bar arm provide reinforced connection to base plates
    • Each arm attaches and detaches from base plate with 2 easy-to-access pins
  • Simple, secure storage alongside motor home
    • Arms fold up, rotate down and secure in place horizontally with the integrated hold-up bolt

Ball-In-Socket Flex Joint

Tow bars are notoriously difficult to connect and disconnect, especially on uneven surfaces. Rigid tow bars have arms that are essentially locked in place so you have to drive your towed vehicle into the exact position necessary for hookup. But with the Aventa LX, you can connect from the approximate towing position, even on unlevel ground. The unique ball-in-socket joint allows the tow bar arms to swivel and pivot just enough to compensate for a slight height difference. And because it's a spherical joint as opposed to the traditional, bolt-together flex joint, there will be less wear and tear on your tow bar over time.

Self-Aligning Design

The convenient, self-centering arms help to make hookup a snap as well. Once you have connected the tow bar to the base plates on your towed vehicle, simply drive your RV forward until the tow bar arms fully extend and lock in place.

Non-Binding Release Latch

Non-Binding Tow Bar

Blue Ox has defeated the age-old problem of binding by creating a tow bar that is just as easy to release as it is to hook up. Simply press down the locking handles on the tow bar arms until the internal latch disengages. By releasing some of the static pressure from your tow bar you can flex its arms just enough to make disconnecting from the base plates a snap, even when it's out of level with your RV.

Triple-Lug Bracket

Triple-Lug Connection

Blue Ox base plates on your vehicle are equipped with two tabs each that connect to the brackets on the ends of the tow bar arms. These brackets are referred to as "lugs." The unique triple-lug design of the Aventa LX tow bar creates a tighter, more stable connection by surrounding both base plate tabs. The result is a sturdy, reinforced connection that is stronger and more rigid for a safer, more dependable towing experience.

Hooking up the Aventa LX to your base plates is as simple as it is secure. Just insert the triple-lug end of the tow bar arm into the base plate so that the center lug is positioned between the two tabs of the base plate. Then insert the 1/2" keeper pin through the lugs and tabs and secure it at the end with the included quick pin.

Simple Storage

The Aventa LX can be easily stored on your RV when it is not in use. After disconnecting the tow bar from your towed vehicle, push the arms of the tow bar together so that they are side by side. You can then fold them up toward the RV and insert the integrated hold-up bolt into place on the hitch connector. Then pivot the arms down so that they are held firmly in place alongside the RV, parallel to its bumper.

Video Transcript for Blue Ox Tow Bar Installation - 2011 Ford Escape

Today on this 2011 Ford Escape, we're going to install the Blue Ox Aventa LX Tow Bar, part number BX7445. With our base plate already mounted on the Escape and the tabs installed, we're ready to go ahead and install the tow bar onto the RV and then connect it to the Escape. Ideally, we'll be doing this on solid-level ground, but unfortunately, the bad weather today doesnt permit us to do that. We got the RV inside installed and pinned in to the hitch. We can now go ahead and connect the arms to the Escape. We'll then remove my pins that come pre-installed and you can see.

It'll mount directly to our tab and then we can reinstall our pin. There's a patch to your side. We'll repeat the same process for the driver's side. Alright, with our tow bar installed, we're now going to go ahead and hook up our safety cables. One end will go into the base plate on the vehicle.

The other will go to the hitch on our RV. Now, we've made our final connection with the Escape. Our new Blue OX Aventa Tow Bar, part number BX7445, is installed and we're ready to hit the road.

Have not taken the tow-bar out of box and installed yet, but the quality is excellent. Will install on my Fleetwood 40' diesel pusher towing a Chev Tahoe using the generic mount kit to my plow mount. More importantly the people I dealt with were excellent and knowledgeable, when I need RV items for the M/H if they sell it I'm getting them from etrailer, GREAT company.50223

I just used these tow bars to pull my 2005 GMC Sierra behind my motor home on a 1,200 mile trip. They worked great! They make it very easy to couple the two vehicles together even on unlevel ground. Disconnecting them is also very easy. I would definitely recommend them.45728
