Ball-In-Socket Flex Joint

Tow bars are notoriously difficult to connect and disconnect, especially on uneven surfaces. Rigid tow bars have arms that are essentially locked in place so you have to drive your towed vehicle into the exact position necessary for hookup. But with the Aventa LX, you can connect from the approximate towing position, even on unlevel ground. The unique ball-in-socket joint allows the tow bar arms to swivel and pivot just enough to compensate for a slight height difference. And because it's a spherical joint as opposed to the traditional, bolt-together flex joint, there will be less wear and tear on your tow bar over time.

Self-Aligning Design

The convenient, self-centering arms help to make hookup a snap as well. Once you have connected the tow bar to the base plates on your towed vehicle, simply drive your RV forward until the tow bar arms fully extend and lock in place.

Non-Binding Release Latch

Non-Binding Tow Bar

Blue Ox has defeated the age-old problem of binding by creating a tow bar that is just as easy to release as it is to hook up. Simply press down the locking handles on the tow bar arms until the internal latch disengages. By releasing some of the static pressure from your tow bar you can flex its arms just enough to make disconnecting from the base plates a snap, even when it's out of level with your RV.

Triple-Lug Bracket

Triple-Lug Connection

Blue Ox base plates on your vehicle are equipped with two tabs each that connect to the brackets on the ends of the tow bar arms. These brackets are referred to as "lugs." The unique triple-lug design of the Aventa LX tow bar creates a tighter, more stable connection by surrounding both base plate tabs. The result is a sturdy, reinforced connection that is stronger and more rigid for a safer, more dependable towing experience.

Hooking up the Aventa LX to your base plates is as simple as it is secure. Just insert the triple-lug end of the tow bar arm into the base plate so that the center lug is positioned between the two tabs of the base plate. Then insert the 1/2" keeper pin through the lugs and tabs and secure it at the end with the included quick pin.

Simple Storage

The Aventa LX can be easily stored on your RV when it is not in use. After disconnecting the tow bar from your towed vehicle, push the arms of the tow bar together so that they are side by side. You can then fold them up toward the RV and insert the integrated hold-up bolt into place on the hitch connector. Then pivot the arms down so that they are held firmly in place alongside the RV, parallel to its bumper.

Video Transcript for Blue Ox Tow Bars BX7445 Review

Today, we're going to be reviewing part number BX7445. This is the Blue Ox Aventa LX Tow bar rated at 10,000. One of the first things I want to go over is just . As you can see, it's in a nice stored position. This tow bar is able to be stored in a very simple process. It's a nice secure storage option along the motor home.

The arms are going to fold up together just like you see them here. They're going to rotate and secure in place horizontally with integrated hold up bolt, which is secured right here inside the groove. To bring it out into a tow-ready or hook-up position, all we have to do is bring our arms up. We have to make sure that the pin is aligned. So, if you swing them to the other side, you can kind of line up that pin with the slot.

You can stow this on either side. Once you have that pin right in the center, you can actually bring the arms forward, and then, you can get ready to move it to a connected or a connection position. The tow bar is going to let you tow your vehicle safely and securely behind your motor home. It is going to come with a set of safety cable. Those are going to be included. The tow bar portion is just going to slide into the trailer hitch receiver.

It's going to fit a 2" x 2" trailer hitch receiver. It also comes with a 5/8" pin and clip that way you can secure it inside your hitch. It's going to feature the 360-degree swivel feature that's going to make it easy to connect even on unlevel terrain. That's a great advantage to have in your favor. The joint is going to allow the arms to pivot for both hook-up and storage.

The ball and socket joint is going to last a lot longer and create less wear than your traditional bolt together flex joint. It's also going to feature a self-aligning design. Once you have it hooked up to the base plate on the towed vehicle, all you have to do is drive forward, and it's going to lock the arms in place. I'll kind of show you how that works right now. If you have all this hooked up, you drive forward, and it's going to extend the arm and lock it in place. To disengage that out position, all you have to do is push in this handle, and it's going to allow the arm to go back into a stow-ready position. That's a great feature to have as well. It's going to feature the rubber boots that are going to protect the telescoping arms from dirt and grime. The portion that's going to connect to your vehicle is going to feature a triple lug connection. It's got the sturdy brackets on the end of each tow bar arm to provide reinforced connection to the base plates. Each arm is going to attach and detach from the base plate with an easy to use and easy to access pin. You can see how those removed are connected to the base plate. Reinsert your pin and then secure it with a clip on the other side. Then again, it does have that simple secure storage along the motor home, which we went over earlier. The entire unit is made out of a durable steel construction. It's going to provide a very long life for you. It's going to stand up really well against rust and corrosion. The safety cables have that nice protector around the cable portion. It's going to provide a long life. They also have on the inside here of the cable that's exposed, a nice little all steel guard, that way the cable doesn't run or rub along the hook there. The hooks have the nice cable catch or keeper on there. Once you have it installed and hooked into place, that keeper is going to keep it from disconnecting from your application. The tow bar is going to have a capacity of 10,000 pounds. It is designed for a 2" x 2" trailer hitch receivers. It is designed to fit Blue Ox base plates, but it can be adapted for use with RoadMaster base plates with a RoadMaster base plate to Blue Ox and Demco tow bar adapter, part number RM-033, and that is going to be sold separately. The entire unit is going to weigh about 42 pounds. It's pretty simple to install. It's not super heavy, that way you can adjust it as needed. If you ever need to disengage it or remove it from your R, you can easily do so by removing the 5/8" pin and clip from the hitch and pulling it out. I will say that it is a little bit easier to install and uninstall when it is up in a stowed position. Once you have that all set, you should be all set up and ready to hit the road. That's going to do it for our review of part number BX7445. This is the Blue Ox Adventa LX Tow Bar rated at 10,000 pounds. .

Have not taken the tow-bar out of box and installed yet, but the quality is excellent. Will install on my Fleetwood 40' diesel pusher towing a Chev Tahoe using the generic mount kit to my plow mount. More importantly the people I dealt with were excellent and knowledgeable, when I need RV items for the M/H if they sell it I'm getting them from etrailer, GREAT company. 50223

I just used these tow bars to pull my 2005 GMC Sierra behind my motor home on a 1,200 mile trip. They worked great! They make it very easy to couple the two vehicles together even on unlevel ground. Disconnecting them is also very easy. I would definitely recommend them. 45728
