Roadmaster BrakeMaster with BrakeAway for Motor Homes with Air or Air Over Hydraulic Brakes - Chevrolet Silverado, 2011

BrakeMaster connects directly to your motor home's air brakes and activates the brakes on your towed car in response to changes in the motor home's brake line pressure. It is a truly proportional, truly synchronized braking system.

Features:

  • Supplemental braking system activates brakes on towed Chevrolet Silverado when you engage RV's brakes
    • Connects to RV's air or air-over-hydraulic brakes to sense when and how those brakes are applied
    • Applies brakes in towed car at same time and with same intensity as brakes are applied in RV
    • Ensures synchronized, reliable braking
  • BrakeAway device brings towed car to a controlled stop in the event of a separation
  • LED display mounts in motor home to alert you when the Chevrolet Silverado's brake pedal is being depressed
  • Compact, lightweight cylinder is easy to connect, disconnect and store
  • Custom seat bracket (sold separately) may be required for proper positioning
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Application:
    • Motor homes with air or air-over-hydraulic brakes
    • Towed cars with power brakes - with or without ABS
  • Cylinder length: approximately 2'

Perhaps the best supplemental braking system on the market, BrakeMaster offers truly proportional, synchronized braking by connecting directly to your RV's brakes. The air cylinder that attaches to your towed car's brake pedal applies your Chevrolet Silverado's brakes at the same time and with the same intensity as you apply the brakes in the RV. Not having preset braking speeds means that your towed car will brake with just the right intensity, allowing for more controlled stopping and preventing excessive wear on its brakes.

The BrakeMaster system works with almost any RV that has air or air-over-hydraulic brakes and can fit nearly any car, although a seat adapter (sold separately) may be required for installation on certain applications. Because BrakeMaster connects directly to your RV's brakes, installation is involved and requires an advanced mechanical background.

  • Base Plate Kit, Tow Bar, Safety Cables, Wiring, and Brake System to Flat Tow a 2010 Ford F-150 4X4
  • To flat tow your 2010 Ford F-150 behind an RV, you will need several items. First, Roadmaster Base Plate Kit, # 495-1A. I have included installation details below. Next, you will need a tow bar. Take a look at RoadMaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, # RM-520. I have included a link to a video review and installation details below. Third, you will need safety cables as required by law. I recommend the RoadMaster 68 inch Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables, # RM-643. Next, you will need a lighting kit

  • Recommendations For Towing A 2008 Buick Enclave With A 2010 Berkshire Motorhome Using A Brakemaster
  • The RoadMaster Blackhawk 2 All Terrain Tow Bar - 10,000 lbs, # RM-422, is a excellent tow bar for your application, since you might be towing the Chevy Silverado at a later time. The Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit, # 523149-1, is the correct base plate kit for the 2008 Buick Enclave. The visible portion of the brackets can be easily removed so it is hard to tell that the vehicle has the tow bar base plates. The RoadMaster BlackHawk 2 All Terrain Combo Towing Kit, # RM-9294-2, will have every

  • Supplemental Braking System for a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer Towed by an American Tradition Motorhome
  • First, you will need a seat adapter. You will need part # RM-88181. If your motorhome has a Spartan Chassis, you will need to add an air spring assist tank also known as a ping tank, from Spartan. If fuses have to be removed for the vehicle to be towed (check owners manual on towing procedures) then just make sure that the removal of the fuses does not remove power to or affect operation of the BrakeMaster system. Once ready to tow and all adjustments have been made (for example fuses pulled

  • Supplemental Braking System for a 2011 GMC Sierra Towed by a 2005 American Tradition Motorhome
  • There are several supplemental braking systems that can be used in a vehicle being towed by a Motorhome. The easiest to use and install is the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Proportional Braking System, # RM-9400. This system installs in minutes and works like a proportional brake controller. If you brake hard in the motorhome, the Even Brake will do the same. If you brake lightly, the Even Brake will as well. It also includes a built-in break away system and can be used on most vehicles with

  • Supplemental Braking System Recommendation for a 2007 Class A Towing a 2010 Jeep Unlimited Wrangler
  • I would recommend a portable system that provides proportional braking for the 2010 Jeep Unlimited Wrangler. Unlike the Roadmaster BrakeMaster systems, a portable system can be installed without the aid of a professional an eliminates the need to tie into the motor home braking system. The Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Proportional Braking System, item # RM-9400, is an excellent system. Your Wrangler will also require a stop light switch, item # RM-751451, to be installed. There are 5 major components needed to flat tow a vehicle. You will need base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and a supplemental braking system. • There are several components needed to safely flat tow your 2010 Jeep Liberty. The first thing I would do is check your owners manual for any restrictions or guidelines for flat towing your vehicle. The first thing you are going to need is a base plate kit. For that I recommend you get a Roadmaster Base Plate kit # 521434-1. This will provide the attachment point for your vehicle for the tow bar to attach to. For a tow bar I would recommend you get a RoadMaster Sterling All Terrain Tow Ba
