This black silicone gasket maker forms a high-quality gasket that seals the space between matched parts to prevent leakage of automotive fluids and gases. It meets manufacturers' specifications for original equipment.
Features:
Specs:
Applications: Valve covers, oil pans, timing covers, water pumps and thermostat housings
Applied as a gel to just one surface of the parts to be joined, silicone gasket maker forms a seal between them, keeping out contaminants. Silicone gasket maker resists oil and shop fluids, vibration, heat, and flexing of parts, replacing many conventional gaskets. Parts joined by this silicone gasket maker can easily be removed. The old gasket material comes off effortlessly, simplifying future disassembly and reassembly.
Because of their ability to flex and compress, silicone gasket makers work better than other kinds of gasket makers when the parts to be joined are made of different materials, which have different rates of expansion and contraction when temperatures change. They also work better than other types of gasket makers on stamped metal parts that can flex and in situations where clearances can be large.

This product is OEM specified: It is approved to meet specifications of original equipment manufacturers.

Today on this old trailer were going to install part number J101733AT. This is a diamond plate aluminum fender. Our trailer has already had the previous fender removed and all we have to do is clean off the excess sealant that was around the fender. You can see how the trailer did have a blowout and the side of the trailer is damaged. The fender now is going to be a little bit shorter than the original, but it will still fit in the same place. Well go ahead and hold the fender up and line it up with the original line so we can make our marks in our inside of our fender.
Well make our marks on the fender along with the beams that are in the walls. If you just follow the beams you can see the screws going down the side of the wall. Well take it down, and well go ahead and draw some quarter inch holes in the fender. Now well take it back up the trailer, and well hold it up against its original spot and make some marks on the trailer wall. Then well go ahead and predrill out for our fasteners.
Well be using self-tapping screws and #14 size. Once weve got the screws run through well go ahead and take it back out and install the fender. We did take our fender and raise it up just a little bit higher than the original one just so we get fresh metal, and the rest of the fasteners will drill right through the fender and into the trailer. Once all our fasteners are installed well go ahead and add some silicone to take up the gap between the fender and the wall. Well go ahead and push it into place.
Were using RVT black silicone, part number LT37467. That completes it for our install of part number J101733AT.
