Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Today, we're going to review part AM3S130. This is a Kenda Loadstar Tire ST175/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire. It's mounted on a 13-inch Dexstar Galvanized Wheel. This wheel has a galvanized finish, which is corrosion resistant on the front and on the back of the wheel. A few measurements we'll do on this wheel is the diameter of the wheel, which if we measure inside to inside would be 13 inches. The width of this wheel is 4-1/2 inches wide.
The bolt pattern on this wheel is 4-bolt, 4-inch bolt pattern, and the way to measure that on an even number of bolt pattern like this 4-lug, you'll measure from the center of the bolt hole directly across to the bolt hole across from it, center to center. That would measure 4 inches, give you a 4 on 4-inch bolt pattern. This wheel does have a weight capacity of 1360 lbs at 50 psi. It does use a wheel bolt size of a 1/2 inch by 20. Another critical measurement on the wheel is the pilot hole diameter, which is the large center hole on this wheel.
That will go over the hub on your trailer. If we measure the diameter of that, it would be 2.65 inches. Now, we'll move on to the tire. The tire is a Loadstar and, again, size ST for Special Trailer, 175/80D13. D signifies the diagonal belt, which is a bias tire.
This tire is a load range C tire, which means it is a 6-ply rated tire. That means it has a maximum load capacity of 1 360 lbs at 50 psi. Now, this tire is a bias constructed tire, and what that would mean is when it is built, the belts inside the tire will run the length of the tire as opposed to radial which would run the radius of the tire. And when you have a belted tire, the main difference between that and a radial is, normally, the side wall would be a little bit more firmer compared to a radial. This tire and wheel combo has a limited two-year warranty.
