Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Today, we're going to review part number: AM3H320. This is a Kenda 215/60/8 Bias Trailer Tire mounted on an 8" Dexstar Galvanized Wheel. This wheel has a galvanized finish for superior corrosion-resistance. A few measurements we'll do on the wheel: The rim diameter, which is 8" would be measured from inside to inside, shows 8". The width of this wheel is 7" wide. This wheel has a bolt pattern of 5 bolts, 4-1/2" bolt pattern.
And when you have a bolt pattern of an odd number of lugs, the best way to measure it--we'll have two options for you. We'll show you both of them. The first option would be if you drew a circle through the center of all 5 of the lug holes, and then measured the diameter of that circle. So in this case, if we measure from the center of this bolt hole to that outer edge of the circle we drew, it would be 4-1/2". The other way is you could measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the bolt hole next to it.
That will give you 2-5/8". And if you go to the product page, at the bottom of the page there's a chart that will list that if that measurement is 2-5/8", it will give you a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. This wheel does have a capacity of 1,165 lbs. It does use a wheel bolt size of 1/2" X 20". Another measurement is the pilot hole diameter, which is the large hole in the center of the wheel.
This is what will go over the hub on your trailer. When we measure the diameter of that pilot hole, it would be 2.8". Now, we'll move to the tire: The tire is a Loadstar, and again, the size is 215/60/8. This is a load range C tire, which has a 6-ply rating. This tire has a maximum load capacity of 935 lbs at 50 psi.
This tire is also a bias-constructed tire, which means the belts inside the tire will run the length of the tire. One more dimension we're going to take is the overall diameter of the tire, which on this one would be 18-1/2". This tire and wheel combo does come with a limited two-year warranty. That should do it for part number: AM3H320. .
