Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Today we're going to review part number AM30850. This is a Kenda 5.30-12 bias trailer tire mounted on a 12" Dexstar galvanized wheel. The rim dimensions on this is 12'', which we will measure inside-to-inside just 12''. It is a 4" wide wheel. The bolt pattern on this wheel is 5 bolts 4.5" pattern. The best way on a odd number of bolt holes to measure the bolt pattern is if you drew a circle through the center of each bolt hole and then measure the diameter of that circle, that will give you the bolt pattern.
So in this case we'll measure from the centre of this lug hole to the outer edge of that circle we drew, which would be 4.5''. So this will be 5 on 4.5'' bolt pattern. The weight capacity on this wheel is 1,250 pounds at 90 psi. It uses a wheel bolt size of a 1/2"-20. Another critical measurement would be the pilot hole diameter.
This is the hole in the center of the wheel that will go over the hub on your trailer. When we measure the diameter of that hole it would be 3.19''. This wheel has a corrosion-resistant galvanized finish. The tire would be a Loadstar, size 5.30-12. This is a load range C tire, which is a 6 ply rated tire, has a maximum load carrying capacity of 1,045 pounds at 80 psi.
The overall diameter on this tire will be 22''. This tire is a bias tire, which will mean the belts on this tire will run the length of the tire, which will give a little bit firmer ride when compared to a radial tire. This tire/wheel combo will come with a limited 2-year warranty. That should do it for part number AM30850.
