Note: These 4.80/4.00-8 tires fit in the same space as a 4.80-8 size tire, but are not an exact match. On a trailer with 4.80-8 tires, we recommend either replacing all tires/wheels with 4.80/4.00-8 tires, or replacing one or more with 4.80-8 tires.
Note: The overall capacity of this tire-and-wheel assembly is limited to the lowest rated component. Do not fill your tire to a pressure greater than that indicated on the tire itself or on the wheel that it is mounted to.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Today we'll be reviewing part# AM30070 the Kenda 4.8x4.0x8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8-inch galvanized wheel. This steel wheel by Deckstar is galvanized for superior corrosion resistance. It has a ream of dimension 8 inches by 3 in 3 quarter inches wide. It has a 5 on 4 and a half inch bolt pattern and to get these dimensions you have 5 lug nut holes and when you draw a circle through the center of each of the lug nut holes you can measure the dimension of that circle which gives you 4 and a half. You can also measure from the center of 1 bolt hole to the center of the next bolt hole over which is 2.58 inches and by using the chart on the product page you can determine that when it has 5 bolt holes and that measurement is 2.58 inches that will give you a 5 on 4 and half inch bolt pattern. This wheel has a capacity of 910 pounds and a wheel bolt hole size of 1/2inchx20 another crucial measurement is the pilot hole diameter.
This is the large hole on the center of the wheel they will go over the hub of the XM. This wheel pilot hole diameter is 2.8 inches. Now we move on to the tire, this is a loadstar 4.8x4.0x8 size. Has a Low Range C 6-ply rating which will give you a maximum load of 760 pounds at 90psi. It is a bias construction which means the belts within the tire run the length of the tire.
It has an overall diameter of 16 inches. And this wheel and tire combo comes with a limited 2-year warranty. And that should do it for part # AM30070.
