I purchased one of these tires for my wheelbarrow last Spring. I live in the land of goatheads, prickly pear cactus, and other thorns; previous tires just didn't last. Very frustrating when you go to get the wheelbarrow and the darn tire is flat! This one has survived the Spring and all Summer without a hitch, flat or one single problem. I would highly recommend this option to anyone with a similar problem! Can you tell which tire I like? 109374

I ordered 2 of these 6-ply tires from e-trailer in July '14 after I blew one of my previous 4-ply tires (different brand) and have had good luck w/ the Kenda's after approx 1,000 miles. These are mounted on a 1967 Cox Cadet pop up camper - approx 750 lbs. I just ordered 2 more for spares for a couple of long upcoming summer trips. The Kenda's seem like one of the better quality tires in this size that I've found out there. E-trailer service was fast, and for the first set purchased in July, I had e-trailer 2-day the new pair to my next RV campsite in Asheville NC & they were waiting for me when I arrived! 179613

The tire is completely functional -- it is for a utility trailer that suffered a punctured tire last week; I use it to put in my spring mulch in the gardens. I could not find a tire in local stores. Etrailer not only had the tire, but I was impressed with their service: I received an email confirming my order at 11:15 pm on a Tuesday, another confirming shipment at 7am Wednesday, and a third confirming delivery on Friday. I was able to get the tire mounted on Saturday morning and back to being productive in my gardens. Thanks so much for a great experience! 78154

I ordered these tires, which came at a great price, for my small lawnmower trailer that may some day haul a motorcycle, and I must say I am more than pleased with product and service. The tires are all they are supposed to be and after selecting standard delivery they arrived in two days. Now that's service. I put these tires on in about two hours with a tire iron and a screw driver--no problem--I'm hauling mower. Need a tire? These guys are the tire people for me. 206573

like other people. using cheap 2ply tire on a chipper/shredder/leaf mulcher. once a month or so tire goes flat. sometimes just add air but for me have to go to tire shop. got these tires and are 6ply heavy duty. wont let air out. wow, im glad I went to better tire. even tire was so tough had to go tire shop with 2 people helping to install in rim. great tire!!! wished I had done earlier to avoid flat tire problem. might be overkill but im very happy!!! 76624

Had a blow out on the boat trailer due to the fact the tires were 45 years old. Got online and ordered new tires from etrailer and they were hear by the time I had the rims repaired and painted, I was amazed. I was amazed on all the thing they had for sale. The only thing I was shocked on was when I call and the sales girl did not know what a inner tube was, but like I said they do have many items 214762

I put about 900 miles on two of the Kenda Loadstar tires over two days on my '67 Cox Cadet camper. I had just had a fairly new 4-ply tire (another brand), blow on me so thought I would step up to the 6-ply. Ihese tracked well & seemed to deal with the summer temps & 70+ mph highway driving well. Also used them for 5 hrs on the winding Blue Ridge Pkwy with no issues. 141586

I purchased two tires because they would replace old ones. One tire was made two years ago and the other was over one year old. They were very hard to inflate because the beads would not seat. Very distorted and narrow in the middle. They look flimsy next to the old ones. I do not suspect I will do business with you all again. 75716

Bought these to replace the tires on my wheelbarrow that always seem to be flat when I needed to use it. Tire fit perfectly. Now no tube to worry about. Tires are much thicker and heavier than what I had. They should last a long time and not be subject to punctures as the originals. 71207

I had Some trouble mounting the tire but I expected that. I put a rope around tho outside of the tire and put a tire iron in the rope and twisted it to spread the beads so it would take air.. Good tire, holds air. 170889

  • Trailer Tire Recommendation for a Triton Snowmobile Trailer with 18.5x8.5-8 Tubeless Tires
  • We do have trailer tires that will fit your Triton Snowmobile trailer. Check out the Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire, # AM1HP26. This is a tubeless, bias trailer tire that exceeds DOT standards. Its size is 215/60-8 which is the same as 18.5x8.5-8. The Kenda K371 Bias Trailer Tire, # AM10004, tire that you have referenced is too small for your trailer rims.

  • The 4.80/4.00x8 tire size is exactly the same as a 4.80X8 tire as long as the load range is the same. The Kenda K371 Bias Trailer Tire, item # AM10004, is a load range C tire. The 4.00 is added to the tire description so that those who have the older 4.00x8 tires, which are no longer available, will know that this size is compatible with their trailer. • What Tire Pressure Is Recommended On 4.80/4.00-8 Load Range C Trailer Tire For Highway Speeds
  • The tires should be inflated to 90 psi on the highway as well as other roads, regardless of load size. The problem is that under inflating a trailer tire will lead to degradation of the tire. On trailer tires, the side walls are thicker than on car tires so they can handle more vertical load. An under inflated tire side wall will heat up more often and quicker and will lead to early wear and possible failure of the tire. The best thing to do is to follow the rating on the tires and...

  • What is the Highest Rated 4.80-8 Trailer Tire or Tire and Wheel Combo Available
  • For a 4.8-8 trailer tire with the most weight carrying capacity, we have # AM10004. This is a tire by itself and it is rated for 760 pounds at 90 psi. It fits 8 x 3-3/4 inch wheels. The highest rated tire and wheel combo in this size with a 4 on 4 bolt pattern is # AM30040, also at 760 pounds at 90 psi. The highest rated tire and wheel combo with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern is # AM30060 at 760 at 90 psi also. I have included a link to our tire and wheel FAQ articles for you.

  • Replacement 4.80/4.00-8 Bias Trailer Tire for a Log Splitter

The 2 P.R., or 2 ply rating, on the current tire indicates that it is a load range A, while the # AM10004 is a load range C, rated at 760 lbs at 90psi. You will not want to use a tube in a tubeless tire because that would double the heat buildup inside the tire which will cause the tire to fail. • What is the Difference Between Load Range B and C Trailer Tires
  • Load range B trailer tires are going to have a lower capacity than C load range tires. Basically that, psi rating, and the ply rating are the only differences. If you go with tire # AM10004 it is rated for 745 pounds at 90 psi. And tire # AM10002 is rated for 590 pounds at 60 psi. Both tires will fit 8 inch x 3-3/4 inch wheels. I have included...

  • Difference Between 4.00-8 and 4.80/4.00-8 Tires
  • The 4.80/4.00x8 tire size is the same as a 4.00X8 tire as long as the load range is the same. The Kenda K371 Bias Trailer Tire, item # AM10004, is a load range C tire. The 4.00 is included in the tire description so those who have the older, no longer available 4.00x8 tires will know that this size is compatible with their trailer. I've linked you to some of our help articles about trailer tires.

  • Changing Out 4.80-4.00-8 Tire Size on Boat Trailer With Larger Tire Size
  • You can go larger in tire in some instances, but it's going to depend on how much larger you want to go. You don't want to see any less than 3 inches of clearance between the top of the tire and the underside of the fender. A 4.80/4.00-8 tire is usually about 16 inches in diameter when fully inflated. A 5.70-8 tire would be about 18 inches in diameter, which would provide about another 1 inch of trailer deck height. This is the largest tire we offer that will fit on an 8 inch rim. If...

  • Do Speed Ratings of Trailer Tires Vary Based on Tire Size
  • Trailer tires are generally rated for a maximum speed of 65 mph. This is true for both radial and bias ply types. The tire diameter does not have a direct relationship to its speed rating. What is most important for any trailer tire is that it be inflated to its specified psi. The load rating for any tire is dependent upon it being inflated to its maximum rated psi. For example, if a tire were rated for a load of 1000 lbs at 90 psi and were inflated to only 80 psi, it would not retain...

  • Can Kenda K371 4.80/4.00-8 Trailer Tire Part # AM10004 Replace 16/5.00-8 Tractor Tire
  • The size difference between the Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 tire and your tractor tire size 16/5.00-8 is quite small so this tire should work fine on your tractor front wheels. • What is Correct Lug Nut Torque Rating for a 5-Lug Trailer Wheel
  • The correct torque for installing lug nuts on your 5 X 8 trailer's 5-lug wheels will depend on the size of the lugs. For a 1/2-inch lug the torque spec ranges from 75- to 85-ft-lbs. For a 9/16-inch lug the torque spec ranges from 135- to 145-ft-lbs. You will want to avoid using an impact wrench or any other tool that cannot provide measured force. Use a torque wrench for accurate results. You should re-torque them at 10 miles, 25 miles, and 50 miles, and then periodically after that.

  • The Kenda K371 Bias Trailer Tire # AM10004 should work fine for you since it is the same tire size as what you have on your brush hog. The slight rim width difference shouldn't matter for your application. We do not carry tubes though, so you will have to find them somewhere else or reuse your current one if it is still good.

  • Does a Spare Tire have to Match the Regular Tires on a Boat Trailer
  • Having a different rating and psi rating on a spare is permissible so long as you do not have to go far to get a new tire and as long as the capacity of that tire is enough for the capacity of the trailer. Ideally, your spare tire should be exactly the same as the regular tires to avoid any compatibility issues. Not only should the spare be the same size, capacity, load range, and have the same psi rating but it should also be the same construction; either bias ply or radial. Tire...

  • Can Same Rim Be Used for 4.80 x 8 and 165/65-8 Tire Sizes
  • I wouldn't recommend it. The 4.80x8 tire is designed to be used on a 3-3/4 in wide rim, while the 165/65-8 is compatible with a 5-3/8 inch wide rim.
