Thule's innovative design makes the CG9 snow chains quick and easy to attach and remove. Once the chain is looped around the tire and the three color-coded connections are made, the patented self-centering, automatic tensioning system takes over, creating a perfect fit as you drive away. You need to get out of the car only once. To remove the chains, simply unhook the connections and unwrap the chains from around the tire.

Thule snow chains are handmade in Italy of hardened manganese nickel alloy steel for ultimate durability. Features include dual-sided, 9-mm-diameter, D-shape links that provide superior traction for excellent grip on snow and ice. Anti-scratch nylon bumpers protect your vehicle's wheel rims.

Included with each pair of chains are mounting instructions, a kneeling mat and a pair of gloves, all packaged in a sturdy container. Thule's CG9 tire snow chains are backed by a 5-year warranty.

How to Install the CG9 Snow Chain

1. Spread the chain around the back of the tire.
2. Connect the plastic-covered, yellow and blue cable on the back side of the tire.
3. Pull the chain over the top and around the tire. Connect the red hook to the red loop.
4. Make the last connection by running the red loop through the buckle and then to the red hook attached to the tensioning cable.
5. Simply drive forward to activate the patented self-centering, auto-tensioning system to ensure a perfect fit.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

185/60-15

1. (185) - indicates the width
2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

The chains have not been used. I bought them just in case it was needed on my trip. When it arrived, I tried fitting it to the tire. It was easy to install and fit perfectly. The design is excellent and at 9 mm thick, there was ample clearance between the inside of the tire wall and the shock absorber. It also had protective caps to prevent scratching of the alloy wheels. I had tried another make that was advertised as only 6 mm thick, but in reality was in jeopardy of scraping the shock absorber because of its stiff joints. There was also no protection for potential scratching of the alloy wheels.60574

Extremely easy to install on the tires. After a couple practice runs, I can have each tire chain on and secure in about 45 seconds. These are definitely worth every penny when you're in a turnout getting snowed on. 59776
