Your typical tire chain, but better. The CB12 offers color coded attachment points to make installation easy. D-Shape links provide excellent traction. Alloy steel construction is durable and corrosion resistant. Requires 12 mm of clearance.
Thule's CB12 snow chains provide an affordable way to enhance safety on icy, snowy roads. These chains are handmade in Italy of hardened manganese nickel alloy steel for ultimate durability. The dual-sided, 12-mm-diameter, D-shape links provide superior traction for excelletnt grip on snow and ice. The included tensioning device eases installation. Just pull the rubber strap taut to tighten the chain for a perfect fit.
Included with each pair of chains are mounting instructions, a kneeling mat and a pair of gloves, all packaged in a sturdy, reusable container.
To choose the right snow chains, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.
These chains fit the following tire sizes:

Today we are going to show you part number TH01221102 from Thule. This is their CB12 tire chains. As you can see here, the chains come in a handy carrying case. I have one of the chains in the center also you have a package with some gloves that you can wear over your mittens and whatnot to keep them dry while you are putting the chains on. Also there is an extra pair of links so in the unlikely event that you break a chain you can fix it rather easily. Also there is a kneeling mat so you do not get your knees wet while you go ahead and install the chains. A few quick notes about these. It does feature color-coded connection points to ease installation. A plastic-covered cable runs from behind the tire to allow you to move the chain without moving the car. The links themselves are a dual-sided D-shape that provides greater traction. And also this will not mess up anything with anti-lock brake systems or electronic stability control systems. It is really designed for passenger-type vehicles. We will go ahead and show you how it fits and how it installs on a typical tire.
To install the chain, run it behind the tire and then bring the blue cable behind the tire and hook them up at the top. Then pull your chains from the back side up to the front, and your red loop here on the end will connect to this red hook here. Then kind of push the blue cable back behind the tire. And then this chain here at the bottom will go through this tensioner here. Hook it through this other loop here. And then this part you want to hook this end up as close to this red hook as possible, somewhere on this part of the chain. Okay, and you have them installed.
All right, to remove the chains, reverse the same procedure. Disconnect it, undo this, and then on top here with the hook, pull the blue part back in and just let it fall to the ground. And part of the chain might be trapped underneath the tire, so just let it sit wherever and just drive backward or forward, whichever is easier, to retrieve your chains. And there you have it for part number TH01221102 from Thule, their CB12 tire chains.
Average Customer Rating: 4.6 out of 5 stars (34 Customer Reviews)Your typical tire chain, but better. The CB12 offers color coded attachment points to make installation easy. I live on a mountain top in Western North Carolina where one of our recent snow falls left 10 inches of snow the first night. I refer to my driveway as The Roller Coaster because it is so steep and curvy and at 6:30 the morning I first used the chains, it was so covered that I had to guess where it was. I have an '03 Subaru Forester and with my Thule chains, I was able to go where the snow plows hadn't gone with no traction problems whatsoever. It was a week before I was able to safely take them off the car, but they're in the back for the next time I need them. etrailer is fantastic! I ordered the chains on Saturday, Dec 25, got confirmation of my order that same day and had the chains the following Wednesday. I recommend both etrailer and these chains without any reservations on either! 6119

I order these to put on my 2011chevy cruze and the fit great. Very important to make sure the chains are twist and kink free before sliding them under the car. It's fully possible to install the chains with out moving the car which it great! I do suggest retightening after driving 100 or so feet to make sure they are still secure. I bought these to help with traction with snow as this winter has been bad so far and I want to be prepared. Easy to install even though it was my first time it only too a couple mins. To install. Very pleased with these and love the storage case to keep the at the ready. 111260
Got them the evening of our trip, tried them on, they fit the 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid. We haven't had them on since the test fitting, the roads remained clear. With a few fitting I expect to find them easy to install. 62211

Great product The snow chains I purchased are great. I hope the last a lifetime. 1484
I have to say I'm extremely satisfied with these tire chains!! They're so aggressive and work well with my corolla. My at is front wheel drive and the weight of the motors sits perfectly in line with the tire/chain combination. They bite and dig right in the snow and ice. My drive way is very long as you can see and quite dangerous in snowy conditions. I've had numerous times where I've had to slip the chains on and it was a breeze. They're so easy to put on and off. I feel extremely confident throughout the winter season with the Thule tire chains in the back of my trunk. Thank you so much! You guys have great products going! 110489

This is my third purchase from Etrailer. As always they delivered, again ahead of schedule. I can't give a complete review of the product because we are experiencing some unusually mild weather but I can say that the product arrived ahead of schedule, looks bomber, and came in a convenient carrying case. Previous purchases include a trailer hidden hitch and timbren suspension support for my 2007 Toyota Sienna. Both were supported by video/written instructions, available on etrailers website, and installed without a "hitch". Etrailer will continue to be one of the first websites I check for all my automotive needs! 30510
Ice... I laugh at ice... So... We got stuck at the in-laws this Christmas because the hill up to civilization was covered in ice and we drive a Corrola. Determined not to have this happen again I read some reviews and bought these chains. I put one side on as soon as we got them to make sure they were the right size and they fit my 185/65/15s perfectly. The chains are not round either, but angled. I think they will be what we need to make sure we can get out next time it ices... The video on etrailer was much more helpful than the graphic instructions provided for installation though. Thanks etrailer! 5057

so far so good. i spent an afternoon practicing putting them on and taking them off. got it down to about 7 minutes for both. just waiting for a nice ice storm to really try them out! also wanted to mention the customer service from etrailer was great. they mistakenly told me my order shipped the same day when in fact the item was not in stock. the next day i got an email and a phone call apologizing and asking if i wanted a different item, a refund or just wait till the chains came in. 2 days later they arrived. they were totally on top of it. thanks... 110210

These chains fit my Mazda 626 very well, and I was able to get to work when the roads were all but impassable for the ice that covered everything because of thee rain all day that turned to freezing rain. I was raised in Montana so am used to fighting snow, but this Arkansas freezing rain takes getting used to but with these chains I am not afraid to venture out no matter what the weather. Also, the people at etrailer.com arethe best to deal with, my questions were answered with great professionalism and courtesy. On a scale of 1-10 they rate a 12. 109839

Great product at the best price anywhere. I called to place my order rather than making it online because I had a question about shipping time just before Christmas. The lady who took my call was extremely helpful. Regular shipping was free, and she found and followed through with express shipping for just $7. She was super nice too. 111294

I use the chain yesterday to bring my Nurse wife who works night shift to her work in the hospital. I live here in Long Island New York and she works in Jamaica Hospital in Queens. The chain makes it easy for me to navigate the snow. Would highly recommend to everyone who needs to be in a road in a severe weather like snow storm. 6215

This is a life saver. Having a rear wheel drive car (Genesis) the snow and ice of the past month made it impossible to drive. Got these and haven't had a problem since. Was considering buying snow tires for my car but for 500 dollars for just two tires for my car got these instead, and glad i did. 6494

Just got my pair of chains. The fit and finish is excellent. please note, you must really pay attention to the diagram when it comes to installing them. Practice installing them before leaving. Over all, product is solid. I bought these for me 08 scion xd. 6527
Product was shipped right away. I had them in hand in 2 days, wow, that was fast, and free. I have'nt had a chance to use them just yet, but the quality looks very good. We'll see when I got to Montana in a few weeks... 62699
NOTE: Ended up not needing chains, so I cannot attest to how well they would have performed. However, I did a test run and put them on the tires at home (wearing leather gloves) and was pleased with how simple it was. 109648

I don't think i'm going to have to worry about getting stuck in the snow anymore. These chains are nothing like the old timey ones my dad and father in-law had to play around with. Thanks for the fast service. 66609
I had a chance to use them. Installation was quick and easy, and they got me up the 10% grade to my house in very wet slush on a packed base. I expect they will help during the next lake effect snow emergency. 62758
