Thule's CB12 snow chains provide an affordable way to enhance safety on icy, snowy roads. These chains are handmade in Italy of hardened manganese nickel alloy steel for ultimate durability. The dual-sided, 12-mm-diameter, D-shape links provide superior traction for excelletnt grip on snow and ice. The included tensioning device eases installation. Just pull the rubber strap taut to tighten the chain for a perfect fit.

Included with each pair of chains are mounting instructions, a kneeling mat and a pair of gloves, all packaged in a sturdy, reusable container.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chains, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

1. (185) - indicates the width
2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel expressed in inches

Today on our 2013 Acura ILX, with tire size P215-45-R17, well be installing the Thule standard snow tire chains for passenger vehicles size 090. This is part number TH01221090. The CB12 offers colored coded attachment points to make installation easy and the D shaped links provide excellent traction. Its alloy steel construction is durable and corrosion resistant. Now to install them on the vehicle well need to get them out of the package and lay them flat. Be sure and get out any knots or kinks within the chain.

Once weve done that well slide the blue cable underneath the vehicle and around the tire. We can then grab both ends of the blue cable and bring it up to the 12 oclock position on the tire and connect the blue cable together. Well then allow the blue cable to roll behind the vehicles tire. Now here on the outside of the chain well grab the red chain link and the red hook at the 12 oclock position and connect them together allowing the chain to drape over the tire tread making sure it stays centered. Now here at the six oclock position youll see your snow chains tension holder.

Well place the chain link through the tension holder and pull it tight. Youll need to make sure that the chain runs through the red hook here on the side of the chain before you connect the red hook on the end of the rubber tensioner. That completes the installation of the Thule standard snow tire chain of our 2013 Acura ILX.

I use the chain yesterday to bring my Nurse wife who works night shift to her work in the hospital. I live here in Long Island New York and she works in Jamaica Hospital in Queens. The chain makes it easy for me to navigate the snow. Would highly recommend to everyone who needs to be in a road in a severe weather like snow storm. 6215
