Easy Grips Construction

Michelin's Easy Grip composite snow chains assist you while you're driving on snowy and icy roads by providing extra traction for your tires. Made of durable, poly-coated aramid fibers, the mesh gives your tires grip on snow, and the galvanized steel cleats dig into ice. The Easy Grip's lightweight construction and low-profile design make them easy to handle, and their composite construction produces less vibration and noise than metal chains, making for a smoother, quieter ride.

How to Install Easy Grip Composite Snow Chains

Easy Grips Install

  1. Position the internal elastic cable of the Easy Grip snow chain over a tire on the drive axle. (Shown in progress in image at left.)
  2. Slowly move your car forward by one-half of a tire revolution, keeping the wheels straight.
  3. Position the rest of the snow chain over the tire. The reflective disc must be lined up over the center of the wheel. (Shown in progress in image at right.)

How to Remove Easy Grip Composite Snow Chains

  1. Pull the internal elastic cable of the Easy Grip snow chain toward you.
  2. Pull the chain away from the tire and down to the ground.
  3. Slowly move your car backward until the chain is completely free of the tire.
  4. Roll up the snow chains, put them in the handy storage bag, and store the bag in your trunk until next use.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chains, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire Size Template

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates the width
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches
