Two lightweight aluminum tow arms with handles fit into the VersaWing brackets on your child carrier and extend upward in front of the carrier. The arms are secured to the child carrier with included pins and safety clips.
The height of the tow arms allows you to easily grip the handles as you hike. The padded harness attached to the towing arms fits over your shoulders to better distribute the carrier's weight, allowing you to easily pull your hiking stroller using your upper body in addition to your arms. That means you and your children can hike longer and more comfortably with this Chariot conversion kit.
This carrier is designed with your children's safety in mind. The anodized aluminum frame of the carrier forms a roll cage around your precious cargo and helps to keep little hands and feet inside at all times. Anodizing adds a strong surface coating that prevents rust while retaining the lightweight quality of the aluminum. Deluxe, glow-in-the-dark Energlo material increases visibility in low-light conditions, and premium 3M reflective trim makes your carrier even more visible in the dark.
If you use the carrier with a jogging or strolling kit (sold separately), the wrist safety strap extends between you and the carrier so it won't accidentally roll away from you. The durable, polyurethane-coated polyester fabric is free of harmful chemicals, and the UV-protected side windows are made of phthalate-free polyurethane, which complies with the European Oeko-Tex Standard 100 for safe textiles.
A Chariot carrier keeps your babies comfy as you travel. The plush premium seat pad and padded, 5-point restraint harness keep life cushy and safe for your precious cargo. A wide cockpit provides lots of elbow room and storage space, and the low step-in height makes it easier for wobbly toddlers to get into the carrier.
The carrier's suspension provides a smooth ride. Powder coated leaf springs are mounted on the outside of the carrier just above the rear wheels. The suspension's comfort level and shock absorption can be adjusted according to the weight of your passengers, providing a consistently comfortable ride as your children grow. When you're carrying two children, you can adjust each side of the suspension system to match the weight of each child, thereby customizing the suspension so that both kids ride comfortably. You can modify the suspension by loosening the knob on the clamp around the leaf springs and then moving the clamp to the appropriate weight setting for your passengers and cargo. Once you have selected your setting, tighten the knob and you are ready to go.
Unlike other child carriers that have a straight seatback, the Chariot's seatback has a recessed shelf so that your children's safety helmets don't get pushed down over their foreheads and eyes as you travel.
Additional mesh side vents can be zipped open or closed as needed in warm or cool weather and a mesh upper seatback provides ventilation for warm days. The large, tinted side windows let you check on your children as they enjoy the view and can be removed completely to let in fresh air.
You can use the included cover with the screen alone to keep out bugs and debris, or zip on the rain cover to shield your babies from wet or windy weather.
An attached, extra-long sun shade helps to keep your babies out of direct sunlight.
