Video Transcript for Swagman Specialty Trailer Hitches S64025 Review

Today, were reviewing Part Number S64025 from Swagman. This is an RV bumper adapter thatprovides a 2-inch trailer hitch receiver. It clamps onto your RV bumper to give you this receivertube, to which you can attach what would otherwise be a hitch-mounted accessory like a bikerack. Where we have foam blocks right here. That would be your bumper. You have the bottomplate here, your bumper and the top plate up here.

This does include an anti-rattle bolt, rightthere. Thats to help your bike rack, once you get that on there. So, this is designed for a 4 x 4-inch continuous welded steel bumpers. It should not be used with aluminum or spot-weldedbumpers and its low capacity is 200 pounds. From the center of the hitch pen hole, which isright here, to the end of the receiver, is 3 inches and thats both ways, from here and fromhere.

The mounting plate is 6 inches square. You can see that. You can use it with a bike rackthat holds up to three bikes. Its not for use with cargo carriers and you should not use this fortowing. It is only used above the bumper and of course, you always want to check your manualsso that youre not exceeding your bumpers stated capacity.

The two inch hitch receiver righthere will hold your accessories. It is solid steel with glossy powder coat finish that resists rustand corrosion, so it should last quite a long time and thats about it for Part Number S64025from Swagman, the RV Bumper 2-Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver that clamps on.

Opened the box and was immediately impressed by the construction quality of this bike rack receiver. Easily installed on the bumper of our trailer and again, I was very impressed with the sturdy bolts, back plate and receiver. Too bad Swagman doesn't make one of these for my inferior spare tire holder. 126868

This is a great product, period! Perfect match for my 4 trailer bumper and my bike rack. But more importantly is the quality service I receive from etrailer. They are a great source for everything you could possibly need for your trailer or RV. Ive ordered several items from them and the quality is always 5 Star! Cannot say enough good things about their customer service. They are 5 Star from top to bottom. They set the standard for customer service and products.

Very pleased with this product it's robust and solid, the bolts and lock nuts are high quality. Ordering and shipping were easy and fast. The part fit perfectly I used some gasket material to protect the bumper, would have liked to have the torque specs on the nuts. I use a Thule bicycle rack and this hitch allows me to bring along the bikes on my 5th wheel. 149422

I installed this item to mount the Prorack 2 bike rack on the bumper of our new trailer so that we could conveniently carry 2 lounge chairs. It was nicely fabricated and finished, and installed easily with the hardware included. I'd have given it an "excellent" rating, but I'm not sure that there won't be some future corrosion issues with the bolts provided due to the type of surface treatment. However - with this stated - I'd definitely consider purchasing this item again to meet a similar need in the future. 155603

Received the product and installed it today - easy installation. I have another hitch receiver that I bought years ago, but it's at our home in Florida and we're currently in Ohio. This one is much better quality, but also cost over twice as much. While we won't be leaving to head home for a month, I foresee no issues with this receiver handling the bike rack and two bikes. 214353

It will do the job I require. One suggestion; there is a set screw thatbisn't shown anywhere and I have no idea whether it should be toward thew vehicle or away fron the vehicle. There's no schematic or diagram indicating placement. Otherwise it's nicley designed and finished and shipping was very prompt. Thank you. 42678

Ask the Experts about this Swagman Specialty Trailer Hitches
Do you have a question about this Specialty Trailer Hitche?

  • Capacity of Clamp-On RV Bumper 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver # S64025 with Anti-Rattle
  • The limiting factor is not the capacity of RV bumper hitch # S64025. The main issue is the capacity of the bumper. You will need to contact the RV manufacturer to find out the specifications for your bumper. Also, you will have to be certain you have the right bumper, as this hitch is designed exclusively for 4 inch by 4 inch continuous-welded steel bumpers. This adapter is not compatible with aluminum or spot-welded steel bumpers. There is no drilling required, as the hitch slips over...

  • Will the # 64025 Swagman RV 2 inch Receiver Bumper Mount Adapter Mount Underneath the RV Bumper
  • One option we have for mounting a receiver under the bumper of your RV is the RV Bumper 2 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver, item # E-100. The only problem I see with the location you are suggesting is the distance from the bottom of the receiver to the road surface. If there is not enough clearance the clamp on hitch, bike rack shank or bikes themselves may make contact with the road and damage one or all of the components including the RV bumper. I spoke with my contact at Swagman and was...

  • Bumper Mounted Hitch Recommendation to Tow a Small Trailer and a Golf Cart
  • The main purpose of the Swagman Bumper Mount Adapter, # S64025, is to carry a bike rack behind your RV and it should not be used for towing. Instead, I would recommend installing a universal RV trailer hitch like the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch, # 13703, if you are looking for a hitch for an RV. This hitch will fit frames 22 inches to 72 inches wide and it has a 3,500 lb towing capacity and a 350 lb tongue weight capacity. For a bumper mounted receiver, you can look at the Curt...

You can build one of these tubes fairly easily by using 4 inch diameter PVC tubing (go 5 inch or even 6 inch if you want to keep your hose ends on) and two residential sewer clean-out screw caps, found at any home improvement center. It is not designed to attach to an RV bumper. You can measure on your Jayco trailer to determine if the Hidden Hitch, # 82201, will install to your trailer frame. It will extend out from the original hitch pin hole an extra 3 inches. Hopefully, an extra 3 inches would not cause you any problems.
