Save money for that cool lodge sweater with a moose on it you've been eyeing and pick up the affordable PowderHound to haul your gear. PowderHound holds up to four pairs of skis or two snowboards at a price that won't put your bank account on ice.

The PowderHound operates with a large push button, designed for easy use even when you are wearing gloves. One-button system makes loading and unloading your gear effortless.

A lift bracket on the bottom of the carrier makes accommodating skis and boards with tall bindings a breeze. The bracket attaches to your mounting hardware, providing extra space between the carrier and your roof rack on the hinged side.

PowderHound locks with Same Key System (SKS) lock cores, ensuring that your skis and boards are safe and secure on your carrier. SKS cores allow all your Yakima locks to be keyed alike.

The carrier comes with soft rubber padding inside the arms to gently cradle your gear.

PowderHound mounts on round, square and most factory roof-rack crossbars right out of the box. The universal mounting hardware adjusts to fit any size bar for quick and easy installation.

Today on our 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse were going to test fit part number Y03082 from Yakima. This is their Powderhound roof mounted ski carrier. Our cars already been equipped with a roof rack from Yakima, so all youve got to do is take our ski rack and install it. Well start off with our ski rack already assembled according to the instructions. Well just go ahead and place it onto our roof rack. We have one-half of a clamp loosely installed and then we can rotate the top of the ski carrier off to the side so we can install the hardware for the second side of the clamp.
We have the first group attached to the other side of the clamp. Well go ahead and loosen the center screw and rotate the ski rack out of the way so we can tighten down the second screw. Were going to leave it loose enough that we can still move it around as we need to for a second clamp. At this point you can go ahead and put the ski carrier wherever you want. You can put it off to the side like were going to, or put in the middle or on the other side.
Once the rack is at the right placement well go ahead and tighten down all the screws. One half of the ski rack is installed. Well go ahead and repeat the same process for the other half. With that the ski rack is installed. Lets go ahead and load up some skis.
Well just push up on the red button and move the top half out of our way. Lets go ahead and add a snowboard, too. With all our skis loaded up, all weve got to do is pull the tops down and it will clamp the skis in place. Thats what it takes to load up the skis. With that, that will finish it for our test fit of part number Y03082, the Yakima Powderhound ski carrier on our 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse..
