Today we are going to take a look at Swagmans Roof Mounted 6 Ski or 4 Snowboard Carrier, part number S65100. This carrier is designed to hold up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards. This is half of our carrier system. We already have the other half installed up on our vehicle. On the end here you will find a large latch.

Simply push down and the carrier pops open. Inside you will find large pieces of molded rubber that are firm enough to secure your skis and snowboards, but they are also soft enough that they are not going to damage them. On the end you will also find the lock. A quarter turn and our carrier is secure. Our push lever has been deactivated and we cant open the carrier. The Swagman ski carrier uses a universal fit clamp on system. Two heads of the clamp are secured together with an Allen Head bolt and a square nut. The inside shape allows us to fit square bars, round bars, and most of the vehicle bars out on the market.

Next we will go ahead and put it up on the vehicle and show you how it installs. First well place the carrier up on top of our cross bar. Make sure weve got in centered and lined up with our rear unit. Swing the bar clamp underneath, drop our bolt through and start the nut from the bottom. Then we will take the included Allen key and start tightening the clamp down. We will move back and forth from this side to the other side to make sure we tighten it down evenly. Also make sure to not over tighten as you could end up damaging the clamps. Now we have our carrier securely attached to our cross bars, were ready to load up. Well push the foot lever down, and open the carriers.

Next well grab our snowboards and skis and load them in. Make sure to push them all the way to the back, but make sure to not go past the rubber at the far side. So weve got 2 snowboards, and 2 pairs of skis, and weve got room for another pair. Well go ahead and close our carriers, well lock our carriers, make sure the switches are secure and were ready to go.
