solid construction, easy assembly, I had to make some adjustments to work around my spare tire.(moved the tire over 4 inches)The two bike model would not have worked. I am using the 4 bike carrier for two bikes and could carry a third in the outer slots if necessary. 50793

I like the looks of this bike carrier. It would appear the bikes will not bang together while traveling. Not sure if I understand how the bikes are tied down. Doesnt appear to be any uprights to tie the bike to. Please clarrify. Thanks.

The tie-down method is up to the end user. We recommend something like ratchet straps or cam-buckle straps that will not give or flex like a bungee cord would. Part 05605 is a 4 pack of cam-buckle straps that we recommend for this rack.

A winner, especially mnt.bikes We ahd nowhere to mount the conventional bike racks as we also take our 4 kayaks on the roof top. Whit the different types of bikes the rack could accomodate both mountain bikes and conventional bieks. 2317

  • Trailer Bumper Mount Bike Rack Recommendations for a Camper with Rear Mounted Spare Tire
  • If your bumper is rated for towing and/or carrying weight, we offer several bike rack options that are rated for use behind a trailer or RV. Take a look at the Swagman Around the Spare Mighty Rack, # S80500. This rack is designed to fit a 4 to 4-1/2 inch continuous welded square bumper and fit around the spare tire. I have included a link to the installation details for reference. Another option is the RV Bumper 2 Bike Rack, # S80605, or Swagman 4 Bike Carrier RV Mounted Bike Rack, #...

  • Tying Down Adult and Childrens Bike Frames on RV Platform Bike Rack # S80600
  • The bikes being carried by this rack need to be of similar length. Once you position the racks the appropriate width to fit the adult bikes you can then see if they are close enough to accommodate the childrens bikes. Once placed on the rack you would use tie downs to keep them in place. I have included a link to a page with our tie downs.

  • Can the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Be Used to Tow a Trailer and Carry Bike On a Bike Rack
  • The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receivers, like the # RM-077-4 that you referenced, are not designed for use with any type of trailer. They are designed for use with tow bars only. I would recommend installing a hitch on the back of your RV. If your RV has a 4 x 4 inch continuous-welded steel bumper, you could use the RV Bumper 2 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver, item # S64025, along with a bike rack that is designed for use behind an RV. If you used it, it sounds like you would be towing the trailer high by 3-3/4 inches, which is not too bad, but could lead to trailer sway. The other option is to put a bike rack on the camper itself. You can do this a few different ways. First, you could use the Swagman Mighty Rack, # S80550. This rack attaches to the top of the camper. I have included some informational...

Swagman also makes a rack that is specifically designed to fit around a spare tire, the Mighty Rack part # S80500.
