solid construction, easy assembly, I had to make some adjustments to work around my spare tire.(moved the tire over 4 inches)The two bike model would not have worked. I am using the 4 bike carrier for two bikes and could carry a third in the outer slots if necessary.50793

I like the looks of this bike carrier. It would appear the bikes will not bang together while traveling. Not sure if I understand how the bikes are tied down. Doesnt appear to be any uprights to tie the bike to. Please clarrify. Thanks.

The tie-down method is up to the end user. We recommend something like ratchet straps or cam-buckle straps that will not give or flex like a bungee cord would. Part 05605 is a 4 pack of cam-buckle straps that we recommend for this rack.

A winner, especially mnt.bikes We ahd nowhere to mount the conventional bike racks as we also take our 4 kayaks on the roof top. Whit the different types of bikes the rack could accomodate both mountain bikes and conventional bieks.2317

Expert Answers about Swagman 4 Bike Carrier RV Mounted Bike Rack - S80600 Do you have a question about this RV and Motorhome Bike Racks?

  • Tying Down Adult and Childrens Bike Frames on RV Platform Bike Rack # S80600
  • The bikes being carried by this rack need to be of similar length. Once you position the racks the appropriate width to fit the adult bikes you can then see if they are close enough to accommodate the childrens bikes. Once placed on the rack you would use tie downs to keep them in place. I have included a link to a page with our tie downs.

  • 4 Bike Rack for a 2008 Surveyor 19 Foot Camper
  • The Swagman 4 Bike Carrier RV Mounted Bike Rack # S80600 is meant to be mounted only on continuous welded steel tubular bumpers and not spot or stitch welded bumpers or on non-steel bumpers. If your bumper does not fit into these parameters then the Swagman # S80600 will not work. If your RV has a trailer hitch in the back there are more options like the Standard 4 Bike Rack for 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch Trailer Hitches - Swagman Original # S64400. • What is the Capacity of the Swagman 4 Bike Carrier RV Mounted Bike Rack, # S80600
  • I spoke with my contact at Swagman. She stated that the 4 Bike Carrier RV Mounted Bike Rack, # S80600, can hold 4 bikes at 30 pounds per bike. She also said that, though that totals out to 120 pounds, you cannot put one 120 pound bike (for example) on the rack. The heaviest bike would need to be loaded closes to the RV and so on. I have included a link to the installation details below. Also, to install this rack, your RV must have a 4 to 4-1/2 inch square continuous welded steel bumper.

  • Suitability of Swagman 4 Bike Carrier RV Mounted Bike Rack Part # S80600 on 1996 Jayco Pop-Up Camper
  • The short answer is maybe. This carrier is designed to be used only on 4 or 4-1/2 inch square continuously welded steel bumpers. The aluminum or spot-welded steel bumpers are not strong enough to carry the combined weight of the rack and the bicycles placed upon it. I will provide a link to the instructions below for your review.

  • Trailer Hitch Mount 4 Bike Rack Recommendation for Use Beyond a 5th Wheel Trailer
  • Only certain bike racks are rated for use behind a trailer. I have included a link to the available options for you to view. The hitch mount platform racks that can be used hold a maximum of 2 bikes. For a 4 bike rack, we have the Swagman Standard Rack, # S64400. In order to use this rack, you will need at least 15 inches from the ground to the bottom of the receiver tube. From the center of the hitch pin hole on the rack to the back of the upright bar measures 13 inches. If the spare tire st

  • Rack with 4 Bike Capacity Needed for Rear of a Salem RV
  • We do offer bike racks that can utilize the ladder on the rear of the trailer, like the Swagman RV and Motorhome 2 Bike Carrier, part # S80630. Unfortunately, these racks only have a two bike capacity. Depending on the size and construction of the rear bumper, a bumper mounted receiver like the Swagman part # S64025 would be a good option for a 4 x 4 inch continuous-welded steel bumpers. This receiver is not compatible with aluminum or spot-welded steel bumpers. Using a bolt on receiver woul

If you look at the instructions I have linked, at the bottom of page one is a drawing showing how the rack fits together. • Will the Swagman 4 Bike Carrier RV Mounted Bike Rack Fit a Motor Home with a Spare Tire on the Back
  • I suppose you technically could move the nearest upright to make room for the spare tire if needed. But you can also make the 2 parts of the rack far enough apart to accommodate the spare tire. The problem with moving the upright forward is that it can only be positioned as far back as the second one is in the product page pictures so the bike furthest away may not be able to be safely secured to the rack. You would need to put your 2 bikes in the center two bike slots. I have included a lin

  • Trailer Hitch and Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2012 Shadow Cruiser
  • A bumper labeled as Alumi-X would most likely have at least some percentage of aluminum in its construction. The Swagman 4 bike rack, # S80600, is only meant for a welded steel bumper so I cannot say that it will work on an Alumi-X bumper. What I recommend is a trailer hitch and hitch mount bike rack. To add a trailer hitch to your RV, I recommend # 13703. This hitch fits box frames, I-beam frames, and C-Channel frames. It can be welded or bolted on, but any welding should be performed by a

  • As long as the bumper on your Starcraft is 4 inches square and is continuously welded (not spot welded) the would be a good solution for you. The rear most upright bar could simply be left off to allow clearance for the spare tire. Swagman also makes a rack that is specifically designed to fit around a spare tire, the Mighty Rack part # S80500. Unless you have a strong preference for the platform-type # S80600, the Mighty Rack might be a better alternative for you. For install details for

  • The Swagman RV Mounted 4 Bike Carrier you mentioned, part # S80600 is constructed of 7/8 inch square steel tubing. If you only have 3/4 inches of clearance above your bumper, the rack will not fit as the tubing will be just a little too thick. For 4 bikes, your best bet would be to use a bolt-on receiver like part # UF35-946402 along with a hitch mounted bike rack. You can use any of the Swagman bumper mounted bike racks to carry your two bikes on your travel trailer as long as the total weight of both bikes and the bike rack does not exceed 150 lbs and if the bumper is at least 4 inches tall and no wider than 4-1/2 inches.
