Evolution Monitor
Sleek design stays with the vehicle as a State-of-the-Art gauge display. The Edge Evolution can display up to four of 19 different parameters at a time in an easy to read format. The Edge Evolution monitors vital engine data such as engine load, engine oil temperature, coolant temperature, transmission fluid temperature, just to name a few. The Evolution also has the ability to choose up to 4 of 19 different user defined parameters at a time and graph up to 60 seconds worth of streaming data on your PC. It also sounds audible alert when user set values are reached and automatically records the highest value of key parameters.

Edge Products Evolution Programmer
Not just the best, but the best looking programmer for late model F-150s. Simple to install, this ultra-modern device with its sleek display and custom designed mounting pod is also incredibly easy to use.

The Edge Evolution is designed from the ground up to complement and enhance your F-150. Aside from massive power and torque gains, the Edge Evolution provides a wealth of information about your truck's performance. Information that was previously available only in expensive scan tools available at the dealership. Best of all, the F-150 Evolution is designed to constantly provide this information by fitting into your vehicle with a custom-designed pod that makes the Edge Evolution look like it came with your vehicle.

When used in its programmer mode, The Edge Evolution provides 3 power levels designed to extract the most performance from the fuel you are using. With gains of up to 35 horsepower and 50 ft. lbs. of torque you will feel like you put a new engine in your truck. The Edge Evolution also provides a special mileage tune designed to extract maximum performance from low-octane fuel. The Evolution programmer is also the fastest on the market with programming times under 20 seconds, so going from one power level to another has never been easier.

  • Stock - The Evolution automatically makes a backup of your stock program before proceeding to add a new program.
  • Transmission Only - This is the lowest level setting and will not provide any engine performance increases but will provide firmer transmission shifts which helps increase the life for the transmission.
  • Tow Performance - This program provides better transmission shifting while modifying the ignition timing and fuel injection strategies to improve performance.
  • High Performance - The highest setting for the Evolution aggressively tunes the fuel injection and ignition timing strategies to extract the maximum performance from the vehicle without sacrificing driveability or durability. This program takes advantage of the increased engine performance by providing quicker, firmer shifts.

Once the programming is finished, the Edge Evolution turns into a state-of-the-art gauge display. Designed not only to look like part of your truck, but also to enhance the look of you cockpit, the Evolution screen can be set to match any color you choose. The Evolution can display up to four parameters at a time in an easy to read format that shows vital engine data, monitor engine load, engine oil temp, coolant temp and transmission fluid temp, just to name a few.

The Edge Evolution can be set for audible and visual alerts if any parameter gets beyond a user set limit. The Evolution can also capture and save other diagnostic information such as highest RPM as well as highest cylinder head and fluid temps.

Ever wonder how fast your truck is? The Edge Evolution will display 0 to 60 as well as 1/4 mile times and will also save your best times. After all, its not bragging if you can back it up! And if that's not enough, the Evolution can be updated over the internet via a USB connector for the latest tunes and advanced features.

When used as a scan tool, the Edge Evolution allows the user to check and clear Diagnostic Trouble codes with simple, clear text descriptions of the error, calibrate for different tire sizes and gear ratios, and change speed and rev limiters.

*Legal in California only for racing vehicles which may never be used upon a highway.

The Edge Evolution programmer comes with the monitor, mounting pod, installation cable, and usb cable.
Edge Evolution programer simply plugs into the diagnostic port located under the dash of the vehicle. With the included custom mounting pod, the wires stay hidden and the F-150 keeps a clean, cool look.

I love how the dash pod integrates with my dash for a custom look. I have installed the unit, and set it to the towing setting. Which is the reason i bought it. I put some octane booster in my 3/4 full tank and filled it up with premium. Right away i noticed better pickup up hills with firmer shifting. My avg fuel mileage has increased from 12 mpg to 15.9 to 16.2!!! So far I love this addition to my truck I have a 2005 F-150 with a 4.6. After a few more fill-ups with premium i will try the performance setting. And we have a towing trip in a couple of weeks. 26675

It took longer to read all the literature than the actual installation. My total installation time was 30 minutes. I set it for tow as this was why I purchased the edge solution. Thus far, my mileage has increased about 1 mile per gallon. Towing the boat has been helped with added torque. Over drive with the towing selection has allowed the engine/drive train to stay in OD longer without frequent shifts. My install looks just like the picture in your advertisement. Tks,107707

The Edge Evolution works Flawlessly on my 04 F-150, 5.4L. Improved my gas milage to 19 Hwy, 17 Cty and a steady 12 mpg towing a 7500 lb camper. The increased performance more than pays for the additoinal cost of higher octane fuel.58870

Expert Answers about Edge Evolution Programmer for Ford Triton V8 4.6L and 5.4L - EP15051 Do you have a question about this Performance Chip?

  • Will Edge Evolution Programmer Add 50 Foot Pounds of Torque and 35 Horsepower to my Ford F-150 4.6L
  • Depending your engine and settings, you can add up to 35 horsepower and 50 foot pounds of torque. Performance gains will vary some based on your climate and if you have any other performance parts on the vehicle. Please note, you cannot use one programmer to tune multiple vehicles at the same time. Once you install a programmer on one vehicle and set the programs, the programmer becomes married to that vehicle and cannot be used to alter the tune on another vehicle. You would have to return

  • How Will an Edge Evolution Programmer # EP15051 Improve the Towing Performance of my 2007 Ford F-150
  • The Edge Evolution Programmers do a few different things to improve your truck towing performance. The biggest change is adjusting the shift points. The transmission settings are adjusted so that the proper amount of power is transferred to the rear axle to tow easier. When going uphill with the factory transmission settings, you may feel the truck shift and lose power. With the tow transmission settings, the truck will stay in a gear for a bit longer when going up hill so that it will not shift

  • What Kind of Fuel Mileage Increase Will I see From an Edge EEF2400 on a 1996 Ford F-150
  • It varies a bit depending on driving style, climate, and other aftermarket parts on the truck. Typically you will see around a 10 percent increase in fuel mileage on a properly maintained truck. Remember if you purchase one of these units used, the original truck must be returned to the stock tune. When a tune is applied to a truck, it is married to that truck and cannot be used with another truck. Once the original truck is returned to stock tune using the Edge Evolution, they are un-married

  • I spoke with my contact at Edge. He stated that for the Evolution, # EP15051, the best setting would be the pre-programmed High Performance Program. This requires using at least 91 octane fuel or higher. He then stated to enter your tire size via the custom options menu. He also stated that customization such as advancing the timing, or other mods could hurt more than help, and should be done by a qualified professional. • Why is 91 or Higher Octane Fuel Required for the High Performance Setting on Edge Programmers
  • When using the High Performance setting on the Edge Evolution Programmer, # EP15051, you will need to use 91 or higher octane fuel because the ignition timing is increased and the higher octane fuel ignites more quickly than lower octane fuel. That quicker ignition is what the high performance setting requires to function properly. I have included a link to the installation details for the programmer below.

  • With the Edge Evolution Programmer for Ford Triton V8, item # EP15051, for the 2004 - 2008 Ford F-150 4.6 and 5.4 Liter Triton V8, the best setting for all around driving when you are not towing is the Tow Performance Program, in my opinion. This setting provides the advantages of the transmission program along with increased fuel economy and power, due to modification of ignition timing and fuel injection strategies. This setting also allows you to keep running 87 octane fuel. The Evolution

  • Should I Turn Off Overdrive if I am Using Tow Mode Pulling a Trailer with my 2004 Ford F-150
  • It depends on the situation and how much weight you are towing. Generally speaking, if you are towing a heavy load and are finding that your vehicle is shifting in and out of overdrive pretty frequently, then it would be a good idea to turn your overdrive off. I usually turn off overdrive if I am towing a trailer through a hilly road, or through heavy traffic. However, those are not the only times it would be a good idea.
