Item was more difficult to install than I originally thought. For the 2012 Tacoma, the stock gasket had to be cut in order for it to fit. I also had to install washers on one of the mount bolts due to it shanking out. 80356

Thank you! I have used this product in the past and am pretty satisfied with it. The only complaint I would say is it has a tendency to lock on its own apparently from vibration! I keep the key in the truck so it becomes a non issue.75447

It's a wonder why Toyota doesn't offer their own version of this product. It is exactly what is needed. The only down side is that the handle has a lightweight "feel," although, the same could be said of the original, Toyota handle. The service and speed from this vendor was outstanding.71527

This product didn't seem to be of the same quality or as robust as the OEM handle, but after installing and greasing it functioned properly. Time and the elements in West Central Ohio will be the final evaluation of functionality and durability of the Pop n Lock.70476

Installed my Pop & Lock on a 2013 Tacoma with back up camera. Product similar in construction as OEM tailgate handle. Instructions were ok for me, had no problem installing tailgate handle along with backup camera. Back up camera functions same as before, appears to be no change in view from moving from right to left side of tailgate handle. Camera was a very tight fit in new tailgate handle, had to play with it a bit to get it to fit. Get some grease to put on moving parts as hardly any put on to begin with. Overall product appears ok, looks good, and everything worked properly after install, which takes longer than 20 minutes if installing a back up camera. Time will tell if product holds up under use.69355

Product appearance is good, but not as good as original equipment. There were a couple minor blemishes, but not significant. The lock seems rugged and I like the idea that the locking system totally disables the mechanism so that pulling on the handle has no effect. Installation, with the Toyota backup camera, was not as easy as advertised. It is relocating the backup camera from the right to the left side that complicates the installation. The unit should be designed to allow the camera to remain on the passenger side. The most difficult part is disconnecting the camera. It is obvious, from the instructions and from posted videos, how to do this, and I've dealt with many such connections, but the release pin on this camera connector was extremely hard to get apart. I spent an hour on this alone until I found small expandable pliers that could grip, squeeze the pin, and pull the pug in one motion (be very gentle, this is plastic). The pin could not be depressed with finger pressure alone. Discounting this complication, total time would be an hour, not the 1/2 hour or 15 minutes advertised, but still an easy do-it-yourself job. Final appearance is good and it seems to work very well. I'm pleased overall. Delivery and responsiveness from etrail was great. Sorry, no pictures. It was 22 degrees when I did this so I was not about to mess around with taking pictures. 67820

Wonderful product and very easy to install, it took all of about 20minutes and now I have the peace of mind that I have added a theft deterrent to the tailgate. There is a great YouTube video of someone doing this very install, I'd recommend searching for it, watch it and then give it a go. You will need some torx style drivers to do the job though.64104

Installed tail gate lock on my 2013 toyota tacoma! I recently bought a bak flip cover and needed a way to secure tail gate! The pal 5300 worked great!
