Today we are going to review part number LH-090 from Bully. This is their tailgate padlock. What this part does is it attaches to one side of your hinge of the tailgate that removes and prevents the tailgate from being stolen. This product will either fit full size or mini trucks. We are going to use this on a mini truck. This lock is designed to be used outdoors so you can leave it on at all times on your truck. To install the tailgate lock all you have to do is open the tailgate and pull off the one hinge just for a little bit and then we can install the lock. Take the lock and push it off to the side and slide it over the tailgate itself and the pin. Work it into place. Then install the lock with the key up. Push it down until it is tight and it just stays there. Now the tailgate can not be removed. And you can still close the tailgate. If a need ever arises to remove the tailgate all you have to do is use the key, unlock it, and reverse the procedure. There you have it for part number LH-090 from Bully.

I purchased this Bully Tailgate Lock for my 2007 Mazda B2300 P/u Truck because a friend told me that there's being some one in the area taking and selling truck tailgates so I decided to purchase this product and found it to work and do just what it said to do. Received before due date. Product was simple to put on. Would of been better with two people, but I survived it. I ordered two. One for each side but I realized I could only use one for a 2013 F150 FX2. The drivers doesn't lift out like the passengers side. But product is well made and service was great to other than the fact that they sold me two when I only could use one. No problem, I'll find someone that can use it. 70711

Even though I have a tail lock on my 2012 F-150 many times I still have forgot to use the lock. The Bully is great, if I space using the Ford lock I have no fear because of the Bully. I also have a back up camara on my tail gate so if it would be stolen it would cost my a bunch of money to replace. In our family we have maybe eight people that use the Bully and we all think the world of it. Factory lock or not your tail gate is in good hands.. Gary P.67207

Living in Los Angeles I have learned that tailgates are a hot commodity. Just in the past year I have had two friends lose theirs to thieves so I decided to try and stay one step of those with sticky fingers and purchased Bully's tailgate lock for my '07 Dodge Ram. I would recommend having a friend help out since trying to hold the tailgate up while installing the steel band around the latch proved a bit of a challenge for just two hands. It went on in less than a minute and now nobody is taking my tailgate. 66317

this did not work on my 2007 Silverado, the hinge on the tailgate was not seperated far enough from the outer skin to allow the lock to slide in. everything was fine with the company and delivery was on time - the lock just didn't work 65971

Only one is needed. One hinge will have a slot or opening that the hinge can slide out. The other side is captive. In our video, the Rangers slotted hinge is on the right. Since you have to remove the tail gate from that side, before the driver side will come free, only the one lock is needed.

This is a universal item that is designed to work on most trucks with removable tailgates. It will not prevent opening the tail gate, just removing it from the truck. If you are looking for vehicle specific tail gate locks that prevent the tailgate from being opened, check out the link below.

this product works really well. i would recommend this to anyone who has a tailgate on there truck if you are ever worried about someone stealing it from you. this lock can be locked very low and snug so you cant get a bolt cutter on there to cut it off the only way to get it off is to use the key or to drill the lock out. its just like having a pad lock on it. but it wont get in the way of opening or closing the tail gate at all.35838

It was a little bit more challenging to install, specifically having to wiggle it into place while holding the tailgate and using a helper (my 9-year old son) to install it. Overall, it is cost effective and a passive security device. I can literally install and forget about it. And I don't have to lock the tailgate every time.17515
