The product was well made and the instructions were very easy to understand. Installation required patience and some mechanical skill. The bezel and the lock mechinism didn't match excatily. This may be due to the manufacturer changing the bolt pattern of the latch. I needed a secure tailgate for travelling soon and installed the lock anyway. Otherwise I would have sent it back. However, etrailer.com has very good customer service and fast shipping so I would consider them first when searching for parts.45457

I've have the OEM tailgate lock for a few months and it works for what it is. Installation was easy. I had to remove the bed liner cover but the lock installed the way it was suppose to. It keeps the bed locked when I need it and that's what I got it for.13298

The item was easy to install and took only about 5 minutes. The plastic seems like it is thinner and more brittle than OEM and the lower portion does not seat well to the tailgate. It does not pop off but it does stick out a little. For what it is, I am satisfied with the product over all.8499

Great Service, Great Product! Shipping was really fast! Installing this product was very EASY on my 2005 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab truck! The only advice I would give to future buyers is to purchase a longer round headed allen bolt if you have a bed liner in your truck. It is easy to purchase at any hardware store.
