I don't rate this product very high since the Master Lock assembly is poorly built. I believe it would not take a thief long to break the lock and just pull the pin out. The lock is even hard to operate with the key. Not recommended I am using this product with the coupler lock I purchased. I am thinking if its worth the hassle to send it back. 161085

Does exactly what I bought it for. The pin is long enough to go through the hitch and ensures that it doesn't wiggle loose. This gives me peace of mind, and is more secure than a bolt with a nut on it. 92540

The locking mechanism is stiff and the key is very difficult to get in all the way. This might get better with usage. Overall, good product to use on any kind of trailer. 17368

Was a bit skeptical at first on how buff this would be but after seeing it in person very solid. Fits my 1 inch lock perfect. 43896

Hitch lock works great. I wish it could have been keyed the same as my receiver lock pin...but that wasn't an option. 27922

  • Trailer Coupler Lock For Pintle Hook / Hitch
  • We have a few options that you may wish to consider. If you are looking for a lock for the hook or hitch alone, I would recommend the Trailer Coupler Lock - Deadbolt Style, part # 7692. This lock has a 1/4 inch diameter pin that is 2-1/2 inches long and has a covered key slot that prevents corrosion. Another trailer coupler lock I would recommend would be the Master Lock Adjustable Trailer Coupler Lock, part # 2847DAT. This coupler lock has a 2 inch shaft and may provide a more snug...

  • Trailer Coupler Lock Recommendation for a Bulldog A-Frame Coupler # BD43805W0317
  • The Fulton Gorilla Guard coupler locks, like # 63227, fit on couplers that have a lip. That is part of what holds them in place. Since the Bulldog coupler, # BD43805W0317, does not have a lip, it would require a different type of lock. A lock like # DT25013, would be a good choice. It fits 1-7/8 inch, 2 inch, and 2-5/16 inch couplers. Another options is a lock like # 2847DAT. This type of lock will prevent the latch from moving. I have included a video review of the lock for you.

  • Coupler Lock Recommendation for a Bulldog Cast Coupler # BD4425000317
  • I went out to the warehouse and pulled a Bulldog trailer coupler, # BD4425000317, to determine what the best lock for it would be. The best option would be a simple latch lock like # 2847DAT. This will prevent the latch from opening. I have included a link to a video review of the lock for you.

  • Stainless Steel Trailer Coupler Pin with 1/4 Inch Diameter
  • The 1/4 inch diameter snapper pins we have are all regular steel. For a stainless steel 1/4 inch diameter pin take a look at the locking pin # 2847DAT. I have included a link to a video review for you. You will get the stainless steel construction you are after plus the added security of a lock.

  • What Size Coupler Latches are Compatible with the Master Lock Adjustable Trailer Coupler Lock
  • The Master Lock Adjustable Trailer Coupler Lock, # 2847DAT, is designed to fit coupler latch widths from 5/8 inches up to 2 inches wide. In all likelihood, it will fit your coupler. I recommend measuring to make sure. If you get a width that is less than 2 inches and has a hole for a lock that is 1/4 inches or less in diameter, this lock will fit. I have included a link to a video review of this lock for you. I have also included a link to all of the coupler locks we carry.

  • Comparison of the Deadbolt Coupler Lock and Master Lock Adjustable Coupler Lock
  • The main difference between the Deadbolt Coupler Lock, item # RC6, and the Master Lock Adjustable Trailer Coupler Lock - Stainless Steel, item # 2847DAT, is the style of the locks. The Masterlock has the advantage of being able to be used on many different styles of coupler and has a normal style key that can be duplicated at a local hardware store. The Deadbolt has a short span, 7/8 inches, so it can be flush to prevent removal. This style is more compact than the stick and block...

  • What Are the Dimensions of the Master Lock Coupler Lock, Part # 2847DAT
  • The pin of the Master Lock Coupler Lock, part # 2847DAT is 4 inches long. The pin has detents that allow it to fit latches up to 2 inches wide. The end cap is constructed of high impact plastic, and there is a metal button underneath that will prevent the pin from passing through the coupler latch if the plastic cap is removed.

  • Availability of the Master Lock Stainless Steel Coupler Lock # 2847DAT
  • The design of the Master Lock stainless steel adjustable trailer coupler lock, # 2847DAT, has changed a couple of times recently. I cannot say for sure that your original rod would install and lock correctly in the newer style lock and my contact at Master Lock is unsure of the compatibility, but if you order a new lock you will get both the lock and pin that will work together. If you would like a different style of lock, check out the DeadBolt stainless steel coupler lock, # RC6SS,...

  • Coupler Lock Recommendation for use on a Coupler that has a 5 inch Wide Flange
  • It looks like would need to get a latch coupler lock like a Master Lock Adjustable Trailer Coupler Lock - Stainless Steel, part # 2847DAT, for your Four Winns trailer that has a 5 inch wide flange. I attached a link to a review video of this coupler lock for you to check out. We do not have a surround coupler lock that will be wide enough to fit on a coupler that has a distance of 5 inches across.

  • Which Coupler Lock Set is Best for Use with Atwood Trailer Coupler # 81911
  • The Atwood Trailer Coupler # 81911 that you have on your A-frame trailer can be locked in two ways, by securing the latch and by blocking entry of a hitch ball. The latch mechanism on the top can be locked with an item like the Dead Bolt # 7690. (This latch lock is one of the two locks included in part # 7685, which is our reference for the CT Johnson part RHC32.) But please note that this latch lock has a center span of only 1/2-inch; the coupler latch on your # 81911 requires a latch...

  • Coupler Lock for a Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite Travel Trailer 8312SS
  • I did some research on the 2013 Rockwood Signature travel trailers and it looks like the coupler is similar to a Bulldog # BD4425000317 but it was hard to tell from the pictures available on the internet. The Maximum Security Universal Trailer Coupler Lock, # DT25013, should work as long as the outside coupler width at the center of the ball is no greater than 4-1/2 inches. The sides of the Master Lock Universal Trailer Coupler Lock, # 379DAT, could interfere with the construction...

  • How Tight Will Master Lock Universal Trailer Coupler Lock # 379DAT Fit on 2-5/16 Inch Demco Coupler
  • The Master Lock Universal Trailer Coupler Lock, part # 379DAT, is designed to work on all three hitch ball sizes, 1-7/8 inch, 2-inch, and 2-5/16 inches. Since it fits all three sizes it will not be able to be very tight, but you will want to make sure to slide the body of the lock up against the coupler as far as possible when attaching the lock to the coupler. As long as the lock cannot be removed after you lock it to the coupler it will work just fine in keeping somebody from connecting...

  • For our hitch receivers, we offer hitch receiver locks that have either 1/2 inch or 5/8 inch diameter pins. Depending on what you intend to use the locking pin for we do have other options available. We carry locking coupler pins that may work for you. The first lock I recommend is the Master Lock Adjustable Trailer Coupler Lock, part # 2847DAT. This is a 1/4 inch diameter pin that has a keyed lock and is adjustable to fit lengths of 5/8 inch, 1 inch, and 2 inch. Another coupler lock...
