This 1/2" locking hitch pin secures a 1-1/4", or 1-1/4" and 2" Swagman rack (will not work with 2" only racks) to a hitch receiver. Using anti-wobble technology, the threaded pin pulls the receiver bar tight to one side of the hitch, preventing movement during travel. Tubular high-security keys allow easy access with only a quarter turn to unlock. It is also triple chrome-plated for maximum rust protection.

Today, were going to review part number S64029. This is the Swagman Locking Anti-Rattle Threaded Hitch Pin for Swagman hitch racks. This 1/2-inch locking hitch pin will secure a 1-1/4 rack or a 1-1/4 and 2-inch Swagman rack. It has the anti-wobble shank inside the hitch receiver. This part will not work with a Swagman rack that will only fit 2-inch hitches. It has an anti-wobble technology that will pull the receiver bar tight to one side of the hitch and it helps eliminate rattling.
It has a threaded pin that when you tighten it down, it allows that rack to tighten up against the hitch and will prevent any rattling or movement in the rack. It will also help protect racks from theft. It does come with two keys and they are the tubular high security keys which will allow easy access with only a quarter of a turn to unlock. This part is triple-chrome plated for maximum rust protection. It does have a nice rubber cap that will protect the lock core from any elements.
Basically, just to show you, if you just insert that in there and if you can see right here, as you turn that, it will allow it to unlock on the pin. This is the part that you tighten this threaded pin into the shank and that will pull the hitch rack into the receiver and then to lock it on, you just install that over there, turn it a quarter of a turn, pull the key out, and then it will stay locked on and you just put your cap over to protect it. This is a 1/2-inch diameter locking hitch. The available inside width, the span on the inside, would be 2-5/8 inches. The bolt on the end is a 22-mm bolt head and again this does come with the two tubular keys that are included.

Wasnt too happy about having to get a new threaded lock for the rack instead of using a standard hitch lock, but this thing really locks the hitch to rack with no rattling or swaying. This Swagman Lock is Made for Swagman bike racks. However the lock will not thread thru the rack it is too large for the hole even though it is suppose to be the correct model number. It will not work18893
This lock is only compatible with the Swagman racks that will fit 1-1/4 inch hitches. If it is a 2 inch only rack, it will not work. If it is a 1-1/4 only or 1-1/4 and 2 inch adaptable rack, then the lock will work.

A great addition to the wonderful Swagman bike rack I bought. Very nice addition to my bike carrier. Well made and easy to use. The lock snaps in place without the need for a key and is easy to remove because of the key slot being on the side of the lock. Tightens the bike carrier solidly into the hitch with a 7/8" or 22 mm wrench. (Don't forget to take a wrench with you in case you need to remove your carrier from the hitch.)6008

I'm totally new to trailering/hitches, and I learned a ton from this site. Hopefully this comment will help someone in a similar situation. Anyway, two things attracted me to this product: anti-rattle and locking. Anti-rattle apparently means it's a threaded bolt instead of a smooth pin. I think this is important for my application - a bike carrier, being driven long distance at highway speed then through areas with SUPER rough roads. Be aware: Cylindrical locks are not highly secure. (google for "pen open kryptonite") The pin is also *really* long, and that makes it vulnerable to cutting. (bolt cutters, hacksaw, whatever) But it's good enough for what I'm after - making sure someone needs to jump through at least a couple hoops to steal my bike while I am in the restroom or whatever. Also - at least for my bike carrier, there is another pin that needs to be locked to provide security. A visit to my local auto parts store got me what I needed, but of course it's another key to keep track of and I . A set like 2848DAT, but with an anti-rattle pin, would have been ideal for me. In my picture, on the left you can see the product installed in a standard 1.25" bike rack (S64650) - and how far the pin sticks out. In the center of the picture you can see the second lock I needed.60655

I previously had a rack that rested on the trunk of my car. By the time I lifted my bike up and got it in the right postion, I was too pooped to ride. Someone recommended the Swagman and I researched it on the internet. I clicked on the E-Trailer link. I bought the hitch and the rack for my 2002 Honda Accord and couldn't be happier. I am very pleased with the Swagman XTC-2 platform bike rack. I can easily mount two bikes and there is plenty of room to clear the rear mounted spare tire on my 2009 Toyota Rav4. There is 6 1/2" of clearance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the rear mounted spare tire cover on my vehicle. I can fully open my rear door when the bikes are not on the rack. Could not give this over a 3 because it cost me an extra 5 bucks to go buy a socket big enough to screw into my hitch. Unless your a diesel mechanic your basic socket set wont accomidate the 22mm size bolt. Had to go to three stores to find one. Only reason I purchased was the hitch bolt that came with the swagman xtc bike rack was to short for my 2 inch receiver and I was unable to put the safety clip in. Called swagman customer service and they said well we have a anti-rattle hitch pin that will work...sounds like they intentially do that to make you fork out the extra cash for the locking hitch pin. Anyway, does what it is suppose to do not much to it. Peace of mind that it locks the bike rack to the truck.54636

This is my second of these locking hitch pins to buy, as I lost the key to the first one. This pin does hold the associated bike rack very securely, and it does lock, so in that regards it is successful. The primary reason I did not give this product and excellent rating is because it didn't take long, with a saw zaw, to cut off the previous one of these for which I lost the key. Well made and fits perfectly in my Class II 1-1/4" receiver. (Cannot comment on fit in Class III, IV or V with 2" receivers.) Would be better if Swagman had details in the instructions about how they intended the flat washer to be used in conjunction with the lockwasher. Unlike the 19mm bolt this replaces, this locking bolt has a 22mm head. If you bought a wrench (other than an adjustable one) to carry in the vehicle for the original bolt, you'll be buying another one to fit this one. Fortunately I had an 1/2" ratchet wrench in addition to the 3/8" inch I had been carrying with a 19mm socket. Only had to buy a 22mm socket.43243

I just revived the product. It seems like it will do the job. Only thing I can find that I would change is that swagman hitch rack bolts are threaded (maybe all hitch rack bolts are threaded?). I was hoping to slide the bolt out and pop off the rack when not in use, but having to unscrew the hitch bolt each time takes to long. I have decided to leave the rack attached to the car throughout the summer. The good thing about it being threaded is that it firmly attaches the rack to the hitch and prevents the rack from swaying entirely. Lastly, the locked is not keyed alike (to the cable lock on swagman rack I purchased)...I think other manufacturers have this option available so you have one less key.39242

The Swagman XTC2 works fine on my F350 Dually. The adapter to fit a 2" receiver works quite well. The bike rack fits nicely on the back of the truck. I have yet to try it behind the trailer. The bikes rode nicely on the rack, even though the suspension of the truck has the upgraded springs to tow larger trailers. On the website, it is stated that the rack was acceptable on Motor Coaches and also behind Travel Trailers. The directions have a caveat that the warranty doesn't apply if the rack is behind a motor coach, trailer or any vehicle which has stiff suspension that transmits shock to the rack. At the end of the assembly directions it gives advice on using the rack behind a motor coach or trailer. The lock works well.37052

etrailer.com had the right parts at the right prices. I ordered a hitch and a hitch bike rack - these went on a Toyota Venza, so I was skeptical that it would look good. Seems to work well. Tightens solidly and does appear to do what it says. Also, the lock is simple, but does provide some peace of mind that someone isn't going to able to remove the rack easily. There is enough exposed shank, that someone could probably cut through in a few minutes, but as they say, locks are for honest people.23286

1st - eTrailer did a great job - from Communicatin to speedy shipment to packing. Thanks eTrailer!! as to product, i think this will work well for me. i read another reviewer's comments on assembly & that made mine super easy. the only thing i wish Swagman would do a little better, but i'm not even sure if it's really needed, is to solder the wheel strap points better. they didn't go all the way around the points. but, it probably won't be an issue, as it seems to be pretty sturdy. the top tube hook cover is hard rubber so what i'm doing is using the bubble wrapping that came with the carrier to wrap around the top tube - has been working great! all in all, i'm pleased with the product, and it should serve me well.20732

Product is a perfect fit for the Swagman XC bike rack, and it snugs the bar to the receiver so perfectly that I can stand on it and it doesn't budge. I am using it in a 2" receiver on a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, and it installed so quickly that the most time-consuming part of the job was digging through my tools for the correct size socket.
