If you have a Swagman bike rack with the threaded shank, this is the lock you want! This lock is designed specifically for Swagman racks to prevent theft and the somewhat annoying sway that you might experience from time to time towing your rack.
Using anti-wobble technology, the threaded pin pulls the Swagman hitch rack shank to one side of the hitch receiver, preventing movement during travel. Tubular high-security keys allow easy access with only a quarter turn to unlock. It is also triple chrome-plated for maximum rust protection.

Today, were going to review part number S64027. This is the Swagman Locking Anti-Rattle Threaded Hitch Pin for Swagman 2-inch hitch racks. If you have a Swagman bike rack with the threaded shank, this is the lock youll need. This lock is designed specifically for Swagman bike racks to prevent theft and somewhat annoying sway that you might experience from time to time when youre towing your rack. This uses anti-wobble technology. In other words, this threaded pin right here will pull the Swagman hitch rack shank to one side of your hitch receiver which will prevent movement during travel.
The tubular high security click keys will allow easy access with only a quarter of a turn to unlock. It also features a triple chrome-plated finish for maximum rust protection. This will help protect your rack from theft and just to show you. The two keys are included. If you put it in, just turn it a quarter of a turn, it will unlock and then this threaded pin when you insert your threaded shank into your hitch receiver, you will put this through the hitch pinhole and then tighten it down, this threaded part will pull your shank to the side of the receiver and keep it from moving.
And then to lock it into place, just put this in, turn it a quarter of a turn, insert it, pull it out and it will be locked into place. The other nice feature, it does have a rotating cover to protect the lock core there from any elements. You can just turn it and it will keep it hidden and protected and then to open it up, you just turn it back the other way and youll have access to the lock core. This is a 5/8-inch diameter locking hitch pin and this will only work on the Swagman racks that are designed for 2-inch receiver only. Now, when you do use a threaded hitch pin, most companies will have them uniquely threaded to only fit their brand, they will not interchange between other brands.
Ill give you a few dimensions on here. The overall length on this is 6-1/4 inches. The inside width is 3-7/16. The threaded portion is 1 inch and the unthreaded portion would be 2-1/2 inches. Again, this lock does come with the two of the tubular styles high security keys.
Just to show you again how -- this is in the lock position right now, if you put it in and turn it quarter of a turn, it will unlock. To lock it, turn it a quarter of a turn, insert it, release the key and it will be locked into place and then you can turn youre your rotating cover to protect it. That should do it for our review on part number S64027.

I received the Locking, Threaded Hitch Pin and installed it without any problems. The Swagman Bike Rack I purchased earlier came with the Anti-Rattle Threaded Hitch Pin, but without the Lock. The Swagman company rep that I spoke to said that the lock wasn't necessary, but it gave me peace of mind to have a lock on the Threaded Hitch Pin to prevent it from being jarred loose. Also, it makes it more theft resistant. I would rather have saved the money and gotten the locking mechanism without the threaded hitch pin, since I had this already piece, but it might be beneficial for some people. The lock itself seems to work well. It goes on without the key; you just need to push it on. The key is required to remove it. The threaded hitch pin does keep the bike rack from wobbling around. I tried to use a regular hitch pin, but that didn't work well at all since the 2" hitch seems smaller than my 2" receiver, so there is a lot of play in it. But with the threaded hitch pin it seems to work well. The one catch is that you need a wrench or socket set to install it or to uninstall it. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I think that Swagman should include this with their racks, though. Also, it would be nice if the key for the lock used the same key as the bike rack so that you wouldn't need two separate keys. 23645

A must have for the Swagman XTC-4 bike rack. Sure, I want to protect my bikes but I needed something that would protect my $200+ bike rack, too. You need a wrench to tighten the bolt, which does a good job of keeping the rack from rattling but is a pain because you always need to have a wrench around. But that's not the fault of the lock. The lock is pretty neat in that you can rotate the key hole so it's covered up to keep mud and weather out. I'd buy it again if needed and the price here at etrailer.com was good. 12786

Extremely difficult to align pin in receiver such that you can screw in the hitch pin. Besides-an identical one COMES WITH A SWAGMAN RACK SO DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A SECOND ONE! etrailer.com recommends this as an accessory, but is COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY! etrailer.com will also charge you for return shipping!
