The barrel of the light that fits into the socket is made of thin plastic and fractured the first time I removed it from my truck. eTrailer offered to have the manufacturer replace it if I paid for shipping it back, but, having had a chance to see the inside of this device, I am confident it won't last unless it is treated with kid gloves, which means it isn't a very useful tool for the rough environment around the back end of a working truck. 114163

Update: eTrailer refunded the purchase price to me, even though it was outside of their normal return window. I appreciate them reconsidering and making this gesture. The amount of money isnt large, but taking care of disappointed customers is huge.

Where do I start. The light is bright. I have a 2012 f150 and it wont lock into the factory plug cover like all the rv plugs, so if I leave it in and drive away it will fall out. Not waterproof/resistant at all. The back plate for the terminals is held in place by a tiny set screw and it will come off, mine did and I ABS glued it back on. To sum it up made in Taiwan. No complaints at all about etrailer's service 5 stars. 105477

This light really improved the view in my mirrors at night. It's not like a powerful headlight by any means but it does improve the view in my outside rear view mirrors. The LED lamps that other people sell to install in your taillight assembly did not do anything of value. The instructions said that the replacement bulb should be 35 watts, not 50 watts as advertised; not sure what I received. 65208

The product itself is good. I have one on a prior truck. The problem is the new Toyota Tundra (like Toyota is prone to do) has a different connector. The light does not slide in far enough to catch the lock tab. It also sits 90 degrees to where it should so the drain hole is horizontal to the ground rather than perpendicular. 111138

this light works great. you don't have to. worry about someone stealing it because it is easily. removed. it would of been great if it didn't take half the plow season to get it. also my last one lasted four year of plowing. 65001

  • Hitch Light Options for a 2010 Dodge Ram
  • The Ball Mount Hitch Light, part # CR-607, should work on your vehicle if your ball mount has a drop. The light sits level with the shank of the ball mount, so if there is a drop, then the hitch or sway control bars should not be an issue. If you feel that the ball mount you have will interfere with the light, then we also carry a few lights that can use the 7-Way connector on your vehicle if you have one. The Light Buster Backup and Utility Light, part # C8020, is one option. There...

  • Options for Supplementing Reverse Lights on a Vehicle
  • The lens of the Pilot Square LED Brake and Tail Light Hitch Cover, # CR-025, is clear, but it only comes with red diodes. It would not provide a white light when reversing. If you are looking to supplement your reverse lights, I have several other options that you may be interested in. If your vehicle has a 7-way trailer connector, then you could use the Blazer Light Buster Backup and Utility Light, # C8020. This light simply plugs into your 7-way trailer socket. Another option...

  • Will Peak Wireless Backup Camera Work Well in the Dark
  • In low-light situations, the Peak back up camera, # PKC0RB, will have that dark, washed out grainy sort of picture displayed on the monitor and probably will not be as useful as you need it to be. However, you do not have to get a camera system with night vision to be able to see with a back up camera. You could use a backup light like # C8020. It fits in a 7-Way trailer connector and will power on when you place the vehicle in reverse. The extra light will make the image displayed...

  • Will Adding LED Reverse Lights Help to See When Plowing Snow in a 2003 Chevy Silverado
  • Switching to LED reverse lights will provide brighter lights but only within the limits the DOT allows. Reverse lights cannot be too bright so supplementing them with some sort of utility light such as # C8020 would be a good idea. I would actually recommend going with something a little more stout in terms of light output. Some driving lights like # QH-83CD should work better for your application. You can mount them just about anywhere and angle the lights to point where you need. It...
