The corner brackets included with your TracVan ladder rack are designed to securely attach to your GMC Van's rain gutters. The lower edge of each bracket fits into the gutter. J-Hooks are then used to hook around the outside edge of the gutter. Once everything is in place, just torque the fasteners down to ensure a sturdy, reliable connection.
The sturdy aluminum crossbars on all TracRac ladder racks feature integrated slots for mounting and easily adjusting accessories, such as the included load stops. These slots appear on both the top and bottom of the bars for the ultimate in mounting versatility. Like the pieces that mount in the base rails, these accessories also have quick-release knobs that let you loosen and tighten them with a mere twist of a knob so that they can be positioned as needed along the bars.
A built-in trip strip at the front of each crossbar shields the slots from wind, maintaining the aerodynamic quality of the bars and preventing that annoying whistle you often find with slotted bars.
Included with your TracVan are four tie-down accessories. These load stops are designed to mount in the slots of the crossbars and slide along them for quick, easy adjustment. The bookend-style pieces help to hold ladders and lumber in place on the crossbars. They also have built-in loops for securing tie-down straps.
The TracVan rack system, as well most TracRac accessories, is constructed of durable, lightweight aluminum. Because aluminum is lighter than steel - the material most often used for ladder racks - only a small percentage of your roof's capacity is taken up by the rack itself, enabling you to pack on more weight than you could with a steel system.
Even though aluminum is already rustproof in itself, TracRac has taken the extra step of adding a dual powder coat finish to further protect your rack. The electrostatic powder coat (e-coat) clings to the metal surface better than traditional paint finishes for a more durable covering. The second coat is a clear finish that adds extra shine and protection from scuffs and scratches.

I do not usually take the time to review purchased items, although I feel I should as I always refer to posted reviews when researching products.So here goes, forgive me English teachers everywhere . I needed roof racks so as usual I searched the web where I stumbled upon the etrailer.com site. There I found a product that appeared to be what I needed at a fair price and good quality. I received the roof racks promptly after ordering and was surprised after opening the box to see the the racks exceeded my expectations. All the parts were bagged neatly,all the parts were there AND all the parts were either stainless steal or aluminum, nothing to rust! The quality is excellent,the instructions well written and helpful and the followup from the company excellent. In this case I highly recommend etrailer and this American made product wmarshall 72672
