The Oversized Tire Carrier combines the convenience of a tailgate mount and the big tire capacity of a swing-away, enabling your Jeep TJ to handle tires up to a 35" diameter and 200 lbs.
The Carrier and tailgate open and close as one unit with HighRock's unique articulating mechanism, which employs two sets of mounting brackets.
Two load-bearing brackets are mounted on the Jeep TJ substructure, anchored by inner brackets that attach around the sport bar base. A second set of non-load-bearing brackets attach to the tailgate.
Brackets and arms attached to the tailgate are easily adjustable, preventing wobble and "play" of the tire while the Jeep TJ is in motion.
Tire secures to the unit with a telescoping mount that expands or contracts to ensure a snug fit.
Heavy-duty, tubular steel construction and a black powder coat finish provide a long-lasting product, backed by a 1-year limited warranty.
The Carrier is designed for Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited models 1986-2006 and fits Jeep TJs with suspension and body lifts. Some drilling and assembly are required for installation.
