Today, were going to review part number 86065. This is the Reese Ford LED Brake and Tail Light Trailer Hitch Cover for 1-1/4 and-2-inch hitches. This is an officially licensed 3D Ford Logo, which will add a stylish touch to your vehicle. It does use red LEDs which will light up to give your vehicle some flash and make it more visible as well as to alert other drivers to slow down or stop when you do. It does have a low illumination while youre using your tail lights and higher brighter illumination when you brake or engage the hazard lights or your brake light. They do use an energy-efficient LED which are long lasting.

The hitch cover does have a foam gasket that is used on it which will help protect your hitch receiver from water and dirt. Now, it does come with an adapter that bolts on to the hitch cover for a 1-1/4-inch hitch and the foam gasket the goes on that. Ive already installed the 2-inch adapter onto the hitch cover to give you a demonstration of it going onto this hitch. Let me give you a few dimensions on this hitch cover. The face of it is 7 inches wide.

The height is 2-3/4 inches tall. It is a simple installation. Basically, the cover would slide into the hitch, in this case, the 2-inch hitch. It includes the adapter and the foam gasket which will help ensure a snug, rattle-free fit. The wiring harness will plug into your vehicles existing four-way plug.

Now, you do need to use a pin and clip or a hitch lock which is sold separately to attach this to the hitch. You just line the holes up. Put the pin in and basically, that would hold it into place. Im going to give you a demonstration. Im going to plug it into a four-way power supply I have here.

Once we plug it in, you can see the light with the tail lights and then when you hit your brake or your hazard lights, it would light up even brighter. Im going to show you what it would be with the overhead lights off to give you an idea of the brightness. Thats what the tail light would look like; and with the brake or the hazard light applied, it would light up even brighter. This part does come with a 90-day warranty.
