Today were going to review part number CR-017. This is the Pilot Oval LED brake light trailer hitch receiver cover. This cover will fit one and a quarter inch hitches and two inch size hitches. This hitch cover will illuminate when the running lights are on and it will brighten when the brake pedal is pressed. It will also blink when the turn signals are used.This light does use the LED lights which are brighter than a standard incandescent bulb and will last over 100,000 hours. It does have 12 total LED bulbs, three in the bottom row, six in the middle row and three on the top row.
It does have a red sealed lens. This hitch cover will simply plug into your four way on your vehicle. It does measure overall width of five and three-quarter inches and the height of three and one-eight inches. Now all these parts I have laid out here are what is included with this part number.Basically what you would want to do is if your look at the back of this, they will have a pad with four screws. You would pick the adaptor for your hitch size.
If you need the one and a quarter inch, these two pieces you just put together and then youll see it includes this foam gasket block that actually has precut. You just pull out the size you need, the middle you dont need, that would be for the one and a quarter. You just slide that one. There are your hitch pin holes on the side and if you notice, it has the four holes here. Just turn your light over, use the included screws.
Screw that on and youll see the hitch pin. Just slide that into your one and a quarter inch hitch. It has the foam gasket slid on there now. Then you put your pin through there or your lock and that would hold it onto your one and a quarter inch hitch.You need for a two inch, take these two pieces, again push them together. As you can see, the hitch pin holes on the side.
Take the foam gasket, slide it over. There you go and theres your holes. Just bolt is so those are at the side there and that will slide into your two inch hitch. Put your pin or your lock through there and youre ready to go. Screws are included.Now, this is the four way. What you need to do, this will plug into a vehicle end four-way. I have one here and it is hooked up to power so I just want to show you basically how this would do. You just plug it in, put your four-way together and this will be installed into your hitch and then as you can see, the lights are on. There they are, that would be with your regular running lights on and then Im going to show you, we are going to turn the overhead lights off. Now this will give you an idea of what they would look like in the dark. Thats the regular running lights. When you push the brake light you can see that would be the brake light, or when your turn signals would be activated.That should do it for review of part number CR-017.

This is the 3rd of these items I've purchased! Two were tapped from behind!! This one on this site was by far the least expensive I've found (same mfg.)Works great!! . Minor (very) assembly issue, you need a "long" phillips head screwdriver.! I would like to find a brighter one, but but haven't. Works great!!61687

Trailer Hitch Tail Light I purchased the Oval LED light to make my truck more visible from behind and it gets the job done. It is bright with the lights on and yet when I hit the brakes it gets even brighter to warn the driver behind that I'm braking. It should give me a little more protection if the following driver is looking down rather than straight ahead. It assembled easily and was easy to install. A fine product.4058

Great little product. Only one out there that I can find that fits both the 1 1/4 and 2 inch hitch. It contains 13 high powered LED's and is super fast compared to incandescent lamps. LED'S are just ON when power is applied to them. This means, no delay or warm up times. Just gives the guy behind you that second more to know you are stopping. At highway speeds it just may save you a rear-end collision at some point. Having it attached to the hitch, its centered and the guy behind you just cannot miss seeing that your brake lights have come on. Plus, being LED'S you will get you 1000's of hours of life. Note, incase your worried it might get stolen, note the holes on the mount. Yes, you can attach a lock unit to keep it from being stolen. Great little safety product. 64666

I've never seen another Honda VX 3-door hatchback with a trailer hitch, so having a hitch light is even more unique. This is just a fun product, and with a long commute in heavy traffic, it helps me to be seen. Installed this on my Lincoln MKX which came with a factory installed hitch, which I would rarely use. After I installed this light, it not only hid the hitch hardware, but blends together well with the other rear lights, especially when lit with its LED lights. Because it comes with 1 1/4 and 2 inch plastic shanks, some assembly of the one you choose is required with four screws. Not a big deal. 51477

The only issue that I had with this light was that if your 1&1/4 inch receiver was not a perfect 1 1/4 square or larger this would not fit. I took a metal file to the receiver and clean it up. It still was a tight fit. The light is bright. 44884
