• The State of Texas Hitch Cover you mentioned, part # AMGSTTXC would be secured in the receiver using a standard hitch pin and retaining clip like # PC3 or a locking hitch pin like # 40107. Although some of the hitch covers we offer use the wire arrangement you describe, this particular cover uses a piece of square tubing attached to the rear of the cover as shown in the photo I provided. Because hitch covers are frequently stolen, I would recommend going with the locking model.
