Video Transcript for Pro Series Cargo Carrier Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Pro-Series 20x48 Cargo Carrier. It offers up to a 300 pound weight capacity. It's been designed for use in 1 1/4" hitches. Its part number is 6500. This cargo carrier is going to allow you to free up some room inside your vehicle by getting your gear out here on the platform, help you get some extra passengers or pets in the vehicle, or for the instances where you might be muddy, wet clothes, wet shoes, you can actually place those on your carrier and keep them from getting the dirt inside your vehicle. The Pro-Series Cargo Carrier has multiple adjustment points along the main shank underneath the rack. This is going to allow us to stay within the clearance of 1 to 4". That's the maximum or minimum width we want between the front edge of the carrier and the rear of our car.

It has very sturdy steel construction with a 3" raised edge all the way around. This gives us multiple tie-down points where we can secure our gear as well as those edges holding it in from slipping off the edge. The mesh floor is going to allow for dirt and debris to fall down through and also makes very easy to clean. Now that Ive shown you some of the key features of our carrier let me show you how to install it on your vehicle. Well essentially slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. We need to line up our pinholes.

With our pinholes lined up well slide through our standard pin. It does come included with the carrier. Once we have it through well secure it on the other side here with our clip which is also included. Now just in case your cargo is high enough to block your license plate in the rear they do have two holes here. Thats designed for licence plate relocation.

The reflectors are going to come in the package with it. Once you have your platform installed onto your shank you can put those right on the back. The nice powder coated finish is really going to help resist corrosion. In case your cargo blocks your vehicle's taillights there is an optional light kit available. Its sold separately. Its part number is 6504.

You can easily add bikes to your platform with the bike adapter kit. It's sold separately as well. Its part number is 6505. We have a nice rail kit available for it. It's sold separately as well. It's going to help contain the cargo and provide extra tie-down points. Its part number is 6955. The platform comes fully assembled. The carrier offers a 3" shank rise. Its going alleviate that platform to give you more ground clearance and also make it easier to load. Adjustments can be made in 2" increments. Pro-Series offers a 1 year limited warranty with their carrier as well. Now that we've got the carrier installed lets load it down with some gear and we'll show you what it looks like in action. We'll go through our test course which is going to include a shalom, which is going to show you the side to side movement. Weve got alternating bumps which is going to simulate twisting like potholes or maybe hitting a curb. Then weve also got the solid or full speed bumps; its going to show you the up and down movement. That will complete todays look at the 20x48 from Pro-Series, part number 6500. .

I selected the cargo carrier with a focus on functionality first but appearance was included in my choice. I am using it on my Jetta and wanted the added clearance the raised bar offers. The Pro-Series has a clean look which I was willing to pay a little more for. It was delivered on schedule to my door. Assembly was simple, and I adjusted the carrier to be as close to my bumper as possible for optimum weight distribution, but that meant I need to lie on the ground to insert the pin and again on the other side to attach the clip to the pin. I might try giving a few inches clearance to the bumper to be able to access the pin and clip without lying down. The Carrier seems to be sturdier than the weight limits suggest in the instructions. I stood on it (215 lbs) and it seemed to be able to take more weight, although my car probably won’t like it. I noticed a change in the way my car responded with the trunk and cargo carrier fully loaded but not more than one would expect with a full load. Although the yellow reminder tag is “cheesy”, I used a similar sticky-note while driving in England to remind me what side of the road to drive on. Both are really effective and a nice additional benefit. The carrier has a noticeable wobble if the cargo is not balanced evenly (left-to-right) on the carrier (twisting around the insert bar) I tended to push/pull myself up by grabbing the edge of the carrier. When the load is balanced the carrier seems stable enough. The carrier is very easy to attach and unattach which means you can remove it for better access to the trunk with little effort. The carrier stores well enough, it stands up-right on its own on a level floor but it is very heavy and if it were bumped hard enough it could fall and cause some damage. For long-term storage I suggest removing the raised bar, and zip-tie the bar to the rack, to give a slimmer dimension and then hang the whole carrier so it won’t fall even I bumped I have two ideas for the carrier; one it is to have a threaded hole in the bar so it can be used with a threaded pin to tighten the bar to the receiver and reduce the wobble. I have a bike carrier with the same concept. Also the rear of the Carrier could be installed with a second receiver and I could use my bike rack and cargo carrier simultaneously. My only complaint is that the pro-series “sticker” was adhered “skewed” at the manufacturer. Not a problem is you tilt your head to read it. Over all- Very impressive cargo carrier, I recommend it to anyone. 46609

I ordered this carrier along with a Curt hitch, drawbar, ball, and T-connector by telephone for a tenth generation Toyota Corolla. Christy B. processed the order courteously and efficiently. Other staff behind the scenes also made the whole order go smoothly and get a tip of the hat. My first choice was actually the lighter Pro Series 63155 carrier but Christy B. cautioned me that due to its adapter design it will not install on my chosen hitch. (I assume a design feature to prevent a mismatch of capacities.) So I went with this 47 pound one. Since this one comes with an adjustable length riser, it will allow shifting the carrier as close as possible to the vehicle's bumper/bumper cover. The result is the minimizing of bending loads on the customer's hitch. The solidly constructed riser that came with this carrier has a label indicating in a class one hitch (1-1/4") the maximum load is 135 pounds. I do not recall seeing this on the web site but I imagine a touch of lever arm mechanics knowledge is prudent when attaching extra weight to the rear of any passenger car. Note: The web site indicates the 63155 carrier comes with a hollow angled shank/riser; this one has a solid riser. The carrier comes with two small adhesive reflective red labels for a bit more visibility to drivers behind the customer at night. I purchased two full scale white/red "commercial truck" reflector tapes for enhanced recognition in darkness. Finally, it comes with a laminated hang tag for your vent near the driver's field of vision to remind the driver that more clearance during parking should be kept in mind. Though not mentioned during our conversation, the stabilizer strap kit would be worthwhile as it would reduce "wobble" and reduce bending loads on the hitch. This sturdy nicely painted carrier will get the job done when the customer wants to carry a little more when a renting a trailer is more than necessary. Etrailer has excellent downloadable installation manuals along with well crafted videos. Four stars only because I had to choose a second choice carrier as the site did not project any mismatch. (Maybe I missed it.) If I had performed this order online, I might be sending something back. Seems interacting with knowledgeable staff in real time is sometimes beneficial. 159296

We bought this along with the Curt C12221 Hitch and the Rola 59102 Cargo Bag for our 2005 Toyota Matrix (base model) to increase our cargo space. With 2 kids taking up the back seat of the car, the dog taking the hatchback space, and an already-full cargo box on the roof, this was the last option to add space. Easy to assemble and use - really like that we can adjust the shank to change the distance between the carrier and the car; depending on how full the cargo bag is we can move the shank to allow the hatchback to still open without removing the bag. At times we do get a bad vibration at highway speeds, but we may have had too many Christmas presents loaded in the cargo bag. We just slowed down to 55 and the vibration went away. Also wish the carrier came with more reflectors since it's hard to see in the dark; I'm buying some stick-on red reflectors to put on it to make it more visible. 115414

We are glad to know that the carrier and bag helped to solve the need for more space. Speed dependent vibration sounds like something is going on with the wheels somewhere, particularly wheel bearings. The extra weight of the carrier may make it more noticeable since the wheel bearings will be carrying more weight. Do make sure you stay within the weight limits of the vehicle, hitch and carrier. Your Matrix will thank you for it.

Patrick B - 02/04/2014

1 year later and still works great - I did buy some stick-on red reflectors to make it more visible to others in the dark. The vibrations from last year went away on our summer trips - I think now it was more from the frost-heaved roads last winter than overloading.

Pretty sweet deal This cargo carrier arrived within four days of my placing the order. Etrailer offered a) the best price I could find; b) no sales tax; c) free shipping (I ordered another product too). I received e-mail alerts from Etrailer every step of the way. You can't beat that .... Now to the cargo carrier itself. First, the good stuff: It appears to have been designed and constructed to withstand a nuclear attack. It isn't elegant -- one of the welds doesn't match up quite right -- but it's solid and stout. The paint seems to be applied well, but this is one of those things you can't know about until you've owned the product for a while. The shank engaged with my hitch snugly. In an initial test drive, I could not hear or detect any movement from the cargo carrier -- no creaks or bangs. The Rola bag I ordered for it fits perfectly. The design permits you to mount the carrier at varying distances from your vehicle and is clever and useful. OK, the not-so-good: The instructions that are in the PDF file on the Etrailer site talk about installing "corner marker" rods and brackets, but there are none in the package as received. Etrailer says that you must purchase a pin and clip separately, but the PDF instructions imply that they are included. In fact, mine arrived with a pin and clip, but they were too big to use (go figure ....). This doesn't matter, as I already have one. Somewhere between China and my house, the entire package had taken a hit so heavy that it had torn the angled shank right out of its corrugated cardboard container, so it was banging around loose when I came to open the package. The question is whether this happened on the journey from China to Etrailer, or from Etrailer to me. If it was the first of these alternatives, this implies that Etrailer didn't inspect the packet before it shipped it to me. But perhaps the US freight carrier did it .... Regardless, it didn't damage anything other than the little clip they provide for your dash to remind you that you have the cargo carrier in your hitch; the clip was destroyed beyond repair, but I wouldn't have used it anyway. Overall verdict: Very good value, and excellent service from Etrailer. 5484

This carrier is perfect! I bought the class one hidden hitch #60815 and this carrier for my 2007 Chevy HHR. I needed more space for cargo while commuting to and from college during the semester. The carrier is built solid. While driving, I felt little to no rattle from it and the 3" rise really helps to keep it from scraping the ground. I bought a Reese 5/8" receiver lock to give some resistance to theft as well as extra reflective stickers to make it more visible to others. I am very pleased with this purchase and will defiantly deal through etrailer again. Their quality and customer service is outstanding. 128758

I very much enjoy this carrier. I have used it numerous times and ive even used the receiver to tow a small utility trailer around town for larger lighter items. Your service is impeccable.

Even my wife said so. Prior to our family trip I purchased the following items for my 2004 Hyundai Tiburon: Draw-Tite Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver #24726 20x48 Cargo Carrier Fits 1-1/4"" Trailer Hitch Receiver Hitch #6500 Rola Expandable Cargo Bag, 9.5 to 11.5 cubic feet #59102 Tiburons do not have a lot of cargo space, and mine has even less as I have 2 twelve inch subwoofers in an enclosure in the cargo area. I did the installation myself, which was easy, and the setup worked flawlessly. I was able to take luggage for two adults and two teens for a three day trip without stuffing items between the kids in the back seat and floor spaces. I could not even tell I had a cargo carrier on the back of the car. My fuel economy was not adversely affected because the carrier rides behind the car instead of on top where it would cause drag. I still had complete access to my rear cargo area via the lift back. This was one of the best purchases I have made, even my wife said so. 4837

I bought this cargo rack for a 1350 miles road-trip around Lake Erie. Since I own a small car (Mitsubishi Mirage) and we were four, part of our luggage had to be hauled on the rack. We used it to carry a large back-pack and our water supply. We had to move the number plate and I screwed a head flash light onto the rack for our number plate illumination, which worked nicely and was also the cheapest solution (USD 7,-). The best features of this rack are the bent receiver bar for ground clearance and the possibility to adjust the lateral position of the top platform. The second is important to reduce torque, since the tongue rating of these little car hitches is rather limited and a larger separation from the car would reduce the allowed payload (leverage effect). The adjustable platform allows to put the platform as close as 1-2'' from the rear bumper. The cargo carrier is really sturdy, which is good, but is also a bit of an overkill, given the maximal payload will never exceed 150 pounds. I would have preferred a lighter built frame (i.e., aluminum), which would ease the mounting and work equally well. After all, the platform weights almost 50 pounds that are subtracted off the 200 pounds tongue rating of the class 1 hitch (before even considering the leverage effect). I guess there is some room for improvements for the design. In conclusion: I can recommend this cargo rack, especially if you own a smaller car and want to haul around your friends AND their luggage. The rack is a bit pricy, but the bent receiver bar and the lateral adjustment of the top platform are features rarely seen on other cargo racks compatible with class 1 hitches. The increased ground clearance will help master bumpy roads and the occasional speed bumps. 149356

I had purchased this Cargo Carrier along with a Draw-Tite Class I hitch receiver for my 2012 Mazda5. As you may already know, Mazda5 has a puny trunk space when all six passengers occupy the seats. Although I have a Yakima Rocket Box Pro 11 for skis and poles, still needed some storage area for boots and other items. Only way I can do all of the above is to store the bags on this cargo carrier. I chose this one because it's not too long (48" long) yet sturdy and it raises the platform somewhat as the Mazda5 have a rather a low ground clearance. Sure enough, this one's perfect and it seems very sturdy as well. Now I don't have to worry about long trips on the Mazda5 with the Cargo Carrier. Great product! 32838

Did you have to relocate your license plate andor use a light kit with a load on your carrier when it is mounted on your Mazda5? We have a 2006 Mazda5 and am thinking of buying the pro series 6500. Our plan is to use it to carry a cooler and a plastic box of food. But I never got the wiring done when we installed our hitch reciever, so if we have to do carrier lights, I am going to have a problem.

comment by: jan - 10/30/2013

Different jurisdictions will enforce this differently and even have different laws. I've never been cited for obstructing license plate or not having lights when using a cargo carrier. If you decide to add a light kit to your carrier, adding the wiring harness after the fact is not so bad of a task. Kit 118520 is a mostly plug-in kit. You will have to run one wire up to the battery for power, but you will not need to splice or cut into any of the factory wires on your Mazda 5. Though not the same vehicle, I have included a link to a video of the install that will give you an idea of the process.

Product was heavy duty construction. I like the aspect it will ride higher off the ground so less likely to drag on the road if driving through low spots. Size seems right for a smaller vehicle. Will test out later this month. 209513

Overall: I think the 6500 will work well and do what we want, within the limits of the towing hitch installed on the car. Positives: Ordered on the Saturday before Memorial Day; arrived the Thursday after. Plenty of communication after the order and fairly easy to track status. Appears very solid. Easy to put together (2 bolts!) although had I read the instructions first I would have known to put the hitch in the opposite direction for my Suburu Outback. Came with a hitch pin that I was not expecting. Glad I got the light kit- I think it is likely that the load will block at least some of the tail lights. Negatives: Tongue weight should not exceed 200#, and the 6500 weighs about 50. I knew this before ordering, so not a fault of the 6500. It would just be nice to have the sturdiness with a little less weight. I am not completely happy with the wobble where the hitch connects to the car. I will be using straps up to the roof rack, and assume that they will help keep the wobble down when in use. The straps might also extend the weight carrying capacity slightly. 42547

Works great! I successfully used it on a 4 hr / way road trip with my 2008 Toyota Prius, using items #93347 and #59102. The Rola Bag worked flawlessly. I can't tell if the "no rattle" wedge did much, but it's so cheap I don't really care, plus it keeps the pin held extra securely. It has a tiny amount of play when I manually try to wiggle it, and I was a little worried it would wobble or vibrate when driving. However I couldn't feel anything when driving, I think it performed quite well. I might get the lighting kit for my next trip, just to be extra safe on the road at night. My only complaint is it's a bit heavy, which subtracts from the total cargo weight that the hitch can carry. Overall this is a great tool! I can take 4 people comfortably on a decent road trip instead of having to fold a seat down and only fit 3 people in my car. As a bonus, if you have to pack garbage or sandy stuff from the beach it's great to keep that stuff outside the car. 90898

I own 95% of the PA system for my 9 piece band. I have a 09 VW Rabbit and needed some additional space for when I need to bring the entire PA (including an 18" powered sub woofer) for outdoor gigs. The carrier is well built, has multiple bolt holes to adjust the distance from the car. I was able to fit two 12" molded speakers, and two 10" floor monitors onto the carrier inside the Rola expandable cargo bag 59102. This carrier will free up a ton of space inside my car for bigger, and/or more valuable items. 73187

Just got this today and put it together so I haven't used it yet but it looks great. I have a Mini Cooper Clubman with the Mini-Fini Club-link and hitch. It protrudes from the back of the car a lot more than a normal hitch, so the adjustability of this carrier is key. I was a bit worried from the pictures because the holes don't go all the way back but as I hoped is perfectly acceptable to rotate it 180 deg (the instructions explicitly say so). In the most forward position it's only an inch or so from the bumper which is exactly where it should be. The doors do clear the platform which is the other thing I was concerned about. It does kind of block the plate so I'll probably relocate it when I use it, but the tail lights are clear even with the cargo bag on. If you have a Clubman, I don't think you could hope for better. As a test, I stood on the platform and it seems very solid. 25144

I received the Hitch Hauler a few days after placing my order. I was very pleased with the excellent customer service as I'd changed my initial order one day after placing it and was very helpful. The Hitch Hauler quickly proved its worth as we'd ordered a new grill and didn't have a way to get it home until I attached the Hitch Hauler. Using a foam piece to protect the car and tie downs to secure the grill, the Hitch Hauler worked beautifully. In fact we ended up returning the grill because it had a problem, so the Hitch Hauler proved its worth four times in the first two days we had it. We're about to leave on a very long road trip, and anticipate making more good use of the hauler, as well as the Rola Expandable cargo bag we got to go with it. We're delighted with these products, and recommend them highly. 36384

This thing rocks. Seriously, I've been filling it with rocks on my land and moving some heavy stuff with it. I've probably pushed the 300 pound limit. It's very sturdy, there are holes for the straps, and it's adjustable so the rack can be positioned at a proper distance from the vehicle. My last job was to move an old Snapper lawn mower from my land to my house so I could work on it. The cargo rack handled it fine. One last thing; I would definitely buy from eTrailer again. Good service and quick to fill my order. 79181

My first impression of is stellar! I read a bunch of great reviews before deciding on this product for our summer vacation and I'm very happy I went with the crowd. This cargo basket is built very well. We also purchased the Rolo cargo bag, which fits perfectly within the basket. Both items were received within 3 days of my order- FREE. I love the way the hitch is raised to avoid scrapes going over speed bumps, and that the basket can be adjusted forward and back depending on ones need. We are using it on an Acura TL. In all we are extremely happy with our experience with this purchase! 45911

This product #6500 works as advertised. I hauled 3 large bags of recycling today with a couple of bungy cords to hold them with no trouble. I also bought the #6955 rails...they are a great addition. This is a sturdy unit. Highly recommended. I would also recommend an anti-rattle hitch part of some sort..I am using the Boone #93347. It is a tight fit on a sport hitch, but it works. 52777

All the reviews are true...this cargo basket Rocks!!! Arrived on time, easy to assemble, easy to load on the car. I will say I was glad I read the reviews since they gave the "inside" dimensions of the basket. The 20x48 is deceiving. Actual load space is 17x46. BUT, having known this I still ordered. I am glad I did. I LOVE this cargo basket. I have already used it around town and can't wait to go camping this weekend. Coolers, camp tubs, camp chairs and beach umbrellas will be strapped down and ready to go! Totally worth the cost. 88505

Great customer service! Thanks for getting my cargo carrier here so quickly. Great value for product. As far as the carrier itself, easy to put together. Easy to place on the rear and secure to my new Subaru Forester hitch. Seems really sturdy with a little play side to side in the hitch. I think that will be better once loaded and balanced though. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but will be going on a trip shortly and think it will work well. Really looking forward to road testing it, will update later after I can use it. THANKS! 53556

This shelf performed well on our recent 1,000 mile vacation with a 55 gallon tote fill of clothes strapped to it. It was sturdy and stable, no rattling or swaying. I like that I can adjust the tray front and back so it is not extended out too far but I can still get the hatch open. Only trouble was that the receiver part and the tray are separate pieces and in the shipping box the receiver part had come loose from its packaging and been banging around in the box. thankfully neither piece was marred significantly enough to send back. 62217

I purchased the draw tite 6500 cargo carrier for a 2010 Chevy HHR, love it !! It gave the dogs all the room in the back of the car and all our belongings were in the same place at the end of the trip. Wish I would have purchased sooner. Would highly recommend this product. It arrived as stated when ordered, customer service was wonderful. 59983

The cargo carrier arrived safe and sound. Opened it and had the carrier assembled and test fitted on my 2012 Nissan Juke in under ten minutes. I haven't hauled anything with it yet so I can't speak to that. What I will say is it was very easy to assemble. I love the goose necked hitch bar. Gives the carrier much better ground clearence. The ability to adjust the basket closer or further from one's bumper is a nice touch. All in all I'm very happy with my purchase. 56423

Quailty product & perfect size I already owned a 60 inch wide carrier that I used with Ram pickup but found it to be a little wide for my Jeep Wrangler and Dodge Caliber. I bought this to use instead and it works great. Quality product that’s not too big and not too small. The ground clearance it provides is terrific for the Caliber. Also.. Etrailer is the best to buy from. I will continue to purchase from them for years to come. I'm working on my third order now. 2514

Product was exactly as advertised and arrived when promised. Quality is great, seems sturdy, and was very easy to assemble and use (attached to hitch on 2011 Kia Sportage). Also ordered the Cargo Carrier Stretch Net to go with it - probably wouldn't do that again - a few bungee cords would have worked just as well as I ended up adding them anyway as the stretch net did feel sturdy enough for my liking. Overall I definitely recommend this product and! 20322

This is a very nice piece of hardware. Assembly and installation were easy. I wish it weren't quite so heavy, but with heavy construction comes strength (which means I won't be worrying about what's happening behind my bumper). I bought this rack partially because it has a step up, and now that I see it installed on the Prius I'm glad I did. Anything with a straight beam would ride a little too close to the pavement for my comfort. 48182

I got this to haul the ice chest and tent for camping trips. It looks like it will work perfectly. The hitch has a small riser on it to keep it from hitting on inclines and it's easy to adjust the position. I only wish it had a threaded draw-bar so I could really clamp it down and keep it from rattling. It's not the lightest thing in the world but it certainly is well built and solid. I would recommend this rack. 11858

This was a terrific purchase, and will get plenty of use. I am using this on a 2005 Accord (with a uhaul installed hitch), so my overall weight capacity with a cargo carrier is limited. This unit weighs only 50 pounds. It is solid and weighs enough so that I can still haul items and not put a strain on my hitch. Delivery was quick, and matched with the light kit recommends this tool makes my day! 191864

very fast delivery. Product is well made and solid. A little loose in the hitch as far as rattle. I was looking at cheaper unit on same site which included anti rattle pin with carrier but opted for this better carrier. Just a little confused that this better unit did not come with anti rattle pin . Overall very good value and excellent company to deal with. Excellent communications and tracking. 28428

So far, so good. I haven't carried things around yet, but it was super easy to put together and light enough for me to get onto my hitch even being a petite woman not handy with tools. It appears pretty sturdy and fits Rubbermaid size large boxes very well. It does come with a pin, but I'm going to look for something that locks so no one tries to steal it if I am parked somewhere all day. 25655

This cargo carrier is a nice addition to our 2010 Honda Civic. We use it to free up extra trunk space. It is perfect for hauling camping gear and also provides just the right amount of additional cargo space needed when traveling to and from vendor events as part of a successful home business. This piece of equipment is very well constructed, sturdy, – and attaches quick and easy. 92094

Good- heavy duty construction Bad - Heavy duty construction. With a 200 lb max tongue weight for my vehicle, using 50 lbs of that up on a Cargo carrier doesn't leave me with too much capacity. It is also wobbly when you have something big on it. With a small snowblower on this, it is unnerving to see the whole carrier and snowblower rocking all over the place. 60045

Installation took no time at all, longer to get out of box than to adjust and bolt up. Picked this one due to clearance. Top of carrier is even with top of car tag. At first setting, is 3 inched from bumper. Would give it a 5, yet wiggles a little much, (most 1-1/4" hitch accessories due) will use a bolt with washers/nut for snug fit. 35811

Good size cargo handler Used on my Honda Fit was limited to about 150 lbs od cargo since I have a class 1 hitch. Sturdy cargo carrier. Fit onto hitch easily as expected. Putting it together and install took about 15 minutes. It does weigh about 50 lbs so make sure the hitch can handle it plus the load. Mine is going on a Prius so I have to keep very light camping gear only on the carrier. Otherwise, it should work great for my plans. 16674

Ask the Experts about this Pro Series Hitch Cargo Carrier
Do you have a question about this Hitch Cargo Carrier?

  • Is a 1-1/4 to 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter Recommended for Use with a 2 inch Cargo Carrier
  • I would discourage the use of an adapter for use of 2 inch accessories in 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receivers. The reason is that the adapter places the carrier farther away from the rear of the vehicle and hitch, creating additional torque that 1-1/4 inch hitches, especially Class I hitches, are not designed to handle. For this reason all 1-1/4 to 2 inch hitch adapters decrease the hitch or vehicle tongue weight capacity, whichever is lowest, by 50 percent, making a class one hitch only...

As far as how far the load can extend behind the carrier, if you have a smaller vehicle with a Class I or II trailer hitch, you will not want the...
