Specs:

  • Application: most Class A motor homes with 2" x 2" trailer hitch receivers
    • Vehicle frame must extend back to rear of motor home; welded-on extensions will not support the weight of this carrier
  • Carrying capacity: 1,000 lbs
  • Towing capacity: 5,000 lbs
  • Deck dimensions: 86" long x 8" wide
  • Ramp length: 72"
    • Ramp narrows from 7-7/8" wide to 6" wide
  • Outside trailer hitch receiver openings: 1-1/4" x 1-1/4"
  • 1-Year warranty

Three-Receiver Mount

To use the Motorcycle Carrier I, you will need to add two receiver tubes to your motor home. The included receivers are designed to be welded to your vehicle's frame; this should be done by a certified welder.

Once the new receivers are in place, you can carry heavy loads and still tow your car. The Motorcycle Carrier I slides into the outermost receivers, spreading the load over the length of your rear axle. This puts less force on your vehicle's frame than a factory, single-receiver hitch would. A hitch extender is included for use with your factory hitch so that you can attach your tow bar without the carrier being in the way.

Removable Ramp

A durable steel loading ramp is included with your Motorcycle Carrier I. This ramp attaches to the carrier deck and secures with two quick pins. Once you load your motorcycle, just remove the quick pins, lift the ramp out of the mounting slot on the carrier deck and place it horizontally across the receiver tubes behind the carrier. Then secure the ramp to the middle receiver tube with the included bolt and nut.

  • Recommended Motorcycle Carrier for Carrying KTM Adventure on Motorhome
  • I have two possible solutions for carrying your KTM. The Ultra-Fab Motorcycle Carrier, part # UF48-979033 would be a good bargain-priced option. The carrier has a 500 lb capacity and the ramp is included. Blue Ox offers the Motorcycle Carrier II, part # SC2001. This carrier has a 600 lb capacity, and includes an anti-rattle assembly and ramp. The downside is the weight of the carrier itself, which is 200 lbs. In order for this carrier to work for you, the hitch on your motorhome would need

  • Does Motorcycle on the Blue Ox Motorcycle Carrier I Have to be Removed to Check Rear Engine RV Oil
  • With a rear engine RV and a bike loaded on a motorcycle carrier, it is highly likely you will need to unload the bike in order to open the engine compartment. There are a few other things you will want to look at before adding a carrier. The first thing I would check is the weight of your Harley. If it is near 1,000 pounds or more, we do not have a carrier that will accommodate it. Next, you will need to check the capacity of the trailer hitch on the RV. It needs to have a tongue weight c

  • Can a Trailer Hitch Mount Motorcycle Carrier be Used on a Four Winns Siesta RV
  • The Blue Ox motorcycle carrier, # SC2000, is designed to fit most Class A motor homes (diesel pushers) with frames that extend all the way to the back of the RV. Consult the RV owners manual to determine the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle. It will need to be high enough to support the combined weight of the carrier, about 160 pounds, and the motorcycle placed on it. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. Another option that is approved for use behind a

  • How to Load and Hold a Motorcycle Using the Blue Ox Motorcycle Carrier I
  • If you look at the instructions which I have linked for you, there is a tire support that holds the front wheel. You will push the bike up the ramp and onto the deck where the front tire will set in the support. This will end up being a 2 person job. I do recommend having someone hold the bike while someone else straps it down to ensure it does not fall when strapping it down. The front wheel support will not hold the bike up by itself. This is basically how any of these types of motorcycle c

  • Motorcycle Carrier for a Yamaha XVS 1100 and a Ford F-350 Dually
  • Your Yamaha XVS 1100 weighs in the neighborhood of 600 to 700 pounds. The carriers that can hold this much weight are made for Class A motor homes but not passenger vehicles like your Ford F-350. You have a couple of options though that might work for you. First there is a dolly type of hitch mount rack # RHMC1SV. This rack holds the front wheel and has a jack and swivel feature to make loading and traveling easy. Chain driven bikes will need to have the chains removed. Belt drive and shaft

  • Can the Blue Ox Motorcycle Carrier I # SC2000 be Used on the Back of a 5th Wheel Trailer
  • I spoke with my contact at Blue Ox and he stated that you can install the Blue Ox Motorcycle Carrier I, # SC2000, on the back of a 5th wheel trailer. The same rules apply to the trailer as they would with an RV. The trailer MUST have a frame that extends all the way to rear of the trailer. Welded on extensions are not strong enough to support the weight. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you. You will also need to make sure the 2 inch trailer hitch has the capacity t

  • Differences Between the Blue Ox Motorcycle Carrier I and SportLift III for Motor Homes
  • The Blue Ox Motorcycle Carrier I, # SC2000, and the SportLift III, # SC4200, are similar carriers when it comes to weight and towing capacity, however, what sets them apart are their features. The Carrier I is more of a traditional style motorcycle carrier that uses a ramp to load the motorcycle onto the carrier. The SportLift III has a winch that lowers the platform to the ground to make it easier for you to load your motorcycle. This carrier was designed more for large, full dress bikes th
