You will flip over this Yakima bike carrier, with space for four bikes and the versatility to rotate 90 degrees left or right for unparalleled access to the rear cargo area. Rack has built-in security cable and fits 2" or 1-1/4" hitches.

Specs:
You will flip over the Yakima FlipSide premium hitch mounted bike carrier for 2" and 1-1/4" hitches.

The FlipSide features a four-bike capacity and a revolutionary design that allows the mast to rotate - or flip - 90 degrees left or right for unparalleled access to the rear cargo area. The FlipSide is ideal for owners of vehicles with a swing-out rear cargo door. When tilted, the mast is automatically held in place by a stud and catch mechanism, protected by a hard plastic cover.

The versatile rack is compatible with both 2" and 1-1/4" (Class II) hitch receivers straight out of the box. The included steel sleeve slides over the bike rack shank to adapt to 2" hitches or the rack can be used without the sleeve for mounting on 1-1/4" hitches.

The upright bar - or mast - of the FlipSide features a quick-release (TriggerFinger) button that folds the arms down for storage. The arms are then deployed with another press of the trigger and click into place to ensure a sturdy mounting point for your bikes.

The rack's dual arms include Yakima's premium anti-sway (Premium SwitchBlade) cradles that slide on tracks to adjust to and stabilize bikes. The cradles are locked in position by folding out the bottom anti-sway cradle. The cradles adjust for a wide variety of bike sizes and help reduce bike-to-bike contact. Also, the cradles are mounted on the inside of the arms for ease of loading.

The dual arms are set close together to fit a wide variety of bikes, reducing the need for bike adapter bars. The arms feature padding - made of soft plastic - to ensure that your bike arrives in the same condition as when it was loaded.

FlipSide's superior protection includes an integrated (LockDown) security cable mounted on the back of the mast. The cable remains hidden in the mast when not in use and secures to the end of the left arm with a pin and lock.

A heavy-duty (RocSteady) hitch tongue keeps both the carrier and your bikes stable during transport and features an anti-rattle device that reduces noise and movement in the hitch. The carrier includes a hitch bolt and lock to secure the rack to the hitch. The hitch lock features an SKS Core, which utilizes the same key as the cable lock.

FlipSide features a premium, metallic, powder coat finish and convenient bottle openers located at the end of each arm. Like all Yakima bike carriers, FlipSide is backed by a lifetime warranty.

Today we are going to show you part number Y02426 from Yakima. This is their FlipSide Bicycle Carrier. And this bicycle carrier does fit 2-inch and 1-1/4 inch receiver hitches and holds up to four bicycles. One of the main features of the bicycle rack is this anti-rattle hitch bolt. The next feature would be the flip feature: instead of tilting down out of the way, this bicycle rack will actually flip over to the side instead. The next feature would be the hitch security lock, which is integrated into the body of the bicycle rack. The next feature is the arms themselves. They actually have a fold-down feature that allows you to store the bicycle rack. And also, the cradles themselves, they do come standard with the anti-sway cradles. And also, they can be moved up and down with the arms of the hitch, as necessary. Next, we will show you how this bicycle rack can be converted to work on a 1-1/4 inch receiver hitch and a 2-inch receiver hitch.
As shown right now, it is actually set up for a 2-inch receiver hitch. To convert it over, all we need to do is undo this bolt right here. Take out your bolt, take off the bushing, and now it is ready for a 1-1/4 inch receiver hitch. But in this demonstration, we are actually going to use it in a 2-inch configuration. All right, and the bicycle rack does come with a couple of tools to ease the assembly. This is a wrench here, that you can use to go ahead and help put the bicycle rack together there are only a few bolts and that is it the Allen key wrench, for when you convert it over from 1-1/4 inch to 2-inch and the anti-rattle hitch bolt itself. Let us go ahead and install this bicycle rack on our 2-inch receiver hitch. It is pretty simple.
Just go ahead and slide it into the hitch and just line up the hitch pin holes. Once you have that accomplished, you can go ahead and install your anti-rattle hitch bolt just thread it in. Depending on the shape of your hitch, you may be able to use this tool or you may not. If you cannot use that, you can just go ahead and just use a regular 7/8-inch wrench. All right, and then for extra safety, go ahead and add the safety pin clip on the other side. The next feature we will show you is the reason why Yakima calls this the FlipSide. You pull this lever out and you can go to the left or the right and still have easy access to the back of your vehicle.
The next feature will be the arms folding on this bicycle rack. We have them in their down position for storage or for flipping it to the side. To unfold it, you pull this button back toward you and then just pull them up. And it locks into place. Next, we will show you the cradles. Naturally, the whole arm themselves is one big, giant cradle. The bikes will sit on top of the arms, like so. They each have their own divots for the bike frames to sit into. They also come with the tie-downs and anti-sway cradles. Next, we will show you the adjustment of the strap and anti-sway cradle. Basically, when the arm is in the up position, you can move this up and down the cradle, as needed. When you find the spot you are going to use, pull the anti-sway cradle down, and it actually pushes the button which actually locks the rest of the cradle onto the arm itself.
All right, next we will go ahead and install the bike on the rack and show you how it works. Put your bike into position and pull your anti-sway cradle down. Next, we will go ahead and use the cable lock that will lock the bike onto the rack so it will not go anywhere when it is unattended. Just lay it over the top of the bikes, and it goes onto this pin right here. This locks into place. Now, this pin is also interchangeable on each side of the rack, also. And then our final feature, and probably the best feature about this bicycle rack, is the dual, in-line bottle openers. You have one on each side of the rack. And that covers it for our part number Y02426, the Yakima FlipSide.

Great product. Easy to put together (my wife did it ;) Instructional video was again very helpful in being able to see how everything worked prior to even pulling it out of the box, putting it together and using it. I will say that the rubber straps are pretty stiff when you first get them and difficult for my petite wife to use. After I stretched them out she exerted little effort to get them in place. Very easy to use with an Subara Outback. However, the rubber straps are not pliable making attaching the straps to the rack difficult during the break-in period.55703

This is a very fine product. It is solid feeling, easily assembled and works exactly as advertised. It is really "beefy" and thus a little heavier than I anticipated but definitely not a deal breaker. The speed with which I received the rack from etrailer was incredible! I have dealt with this company in the past and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.46367

Ordered a 4-bike hitch-mounted rotating rack with frame-mounted cradles 1-1/4" & 2"- by phone on Friday evening 7 PM & received it complete the following Monday. Everything fit perfectly on my Toyota Sienna except 1 each rear rubber straps (9") which will fasten 1 girl's 24" & 2-20" boys' bikes in positions 2,3,4 behind my 26 " bike. I ordered 3- 11" rubber straps (other brand; Yakima does not make this size) to replace the 3-9" rubber straps. If these 3- 11" rubber straps don't work properly I will probably order the tube top bike frame adapters.45939

Cannot fix all four different kind bikes on it. I have 20, 24, and 26 in bikes and they didnt fix well.45607
If the bikes are non-traditional frames or ladies and kids frames, it would probably help to use an adapter bar, see Y02531. It will help hold the bikes level and provide a more balanced method to hang them on the rack.

I was shocked and very pleased to see my product arrive so quickly. I ordered it in the afternoon on the 2nd of April and it arrived on the 5th of April. The product is quality made and works just the way the video showed. It was easy to put together and use. Yes, the straps were stiff at first but loosened up with use and were easy to put on. I put my bike on it and just rode around town for a while just to see how it worked. It was great. Very happy with the order. 36355

I ordered this product on a Sunday and got a courtesy upgrade for faster delivery. It arrived on Wednesday. It was easy to install and attach my bike onto the rack. Awesome product and great customer service. I especially love the ability to flip the rack side to side, built in lock on the hitch and bike. I highly recommend this website and product to anyone who is looking for a 4 bike hitch rack. Tip: When putting on the 3 straps for each bike. It was super tough because it is brand new. I recommend you put one side on and stretch it out by pulling on it so it is easier to strap onto your bike. I'm a rookie so I did bust the side of my right hand when my hand slipped trying to strap down my bike. It was a painful error, lol. Once I stretched the strap, it was easier to strap the bikes. 16968

This rack serves it's purpose with ease. Bikes feel very secure and installation is very easy. This product is built to a high standard and looks great as well. Rotates out of the way to allow access to rear cargo easily. I am planning a 2000 mile road trip and I have no worries about using this rack.15990
