This rack fits firmly over the ball mount of your 2" receiver, enabling you to tow your boat or trailer while carrying three bikes.

Features:

• 3 bike carrier that mounts to the shank of a Class III, 2" square ball mount (not included).
  • Includes 3 Bolts to ensure a snug fit around ball mount
• Kraton vinyl cushioning helps protect frames and offers additional gripping power
• Flexible top plate accommodates several different frame sizes
• Turning knobs with top plate secure bikes to the rack
• Bikes can be locked to the rack with 1 padlock (sold separately)

Specs:

• Designed for 2" x 2" trailer hitches
• A minimum 10" clearance is required between the hitch pin hole and the ball hole for mounting
  • Use Ball Mounts 2736, 80233 or D-28
  • Extra-Long Ball Mounts with a Rise/Drop usually do not work because of the angled metal supporting the ball mount face
  • Base of rack measures 3-1/8" long

• Using a Rise or Drop Ball Mount with the 3 Bike Hitch Mounted Folding Towing Bike Rack
  
• The base of the 3 Bike Hitch Mounted Folding Towing Bike Rack part # S64600 is 3-1/8 inches long. It is stated at the bottom of the page that this rack may not work with ball mounts that have a rise or because the welded gusset in the ball mount may prevent the rack from sliding far enough on to the ball mount. If you have 4 inches of space on the top and bottom of the ball mount from the hitch to the gusset when it is mounted, you should not have a problem.

• I am sorry, we do not carry an extension bar with a rise. However, we do carry bike racks with a longer shank and a rise. The Swagman Trailhead for three bikes (part number S63365) has a 4-1/2 inch rise and the length of the foot is 13 inches from the pin hole to the start of the rack. The Swagman Trailhead also has a 4-bike rack (part number S63380) with the same rise and length.

• The weight of the Swagman Original Towing Bike Rack, part # S64600, is 23 lbs. The bike rack can handle a maximum of 3 bikes with a maximum weight capacity of 35-lbs per bike (105 lbs total). That would total 128 lbs of tongue weight on your vehicles hitch if you were hauling three bikes on the rack. That would leave you 372 lbs of tongue weight still available on your hitch for towing.
