Anti-rattle, anti-sway, anti-theft - this rack avoids pretty much all things bad when it comes to carrying your bikes. Evader sports anti-sway cradles; an anti-wobble, threaded hitch pin; and locks for both the bikes and the bike rack.
Features:
Specs:

The SportRack Evader three-bike carrier offers premium anti-theft protection for a hitch mount. The rack includes an integrated cable lock that secures your bikes to the rack and stores inside the arm when not in use.

Evader includes a locking, anti-wobble, threaded hitch pin that secures the rack to your vehicle and prevents rack sway and rattle in the hitch during transport.

This rack has soft rubber anti-sway cradles that hold your bikes firmly in place without damaging the paint. The cradles slide along the dual arms to provide proper spacing and to accommodate many bike types.

Simply remove a pin to fold down the dual arms for storage or to drive without bikes loaded.

Evader tilts away from your vehicle with the pull of a pin for convenient rear-of-vehicle access without having to remove the rack.

An included adapter sleeve fits easily over the rack shank and allows Evader to fit 2" hitches. Remove the sleeve for use with 1-1/4" (Class II only) hitches.

Today we are going to review part number A30403XT, the SportRack Evader three bike carrier for 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches. This anti-rattle, anti-sway and anti-theft rack avoids pretty much all things bad when it comes to carrying your bikes. The evader sports anti-sway cradles as mentioned before, as well as an anti-wobble threaded hitch pin and locks for both the bikes and the bike rack. This is a hitch mounted rack and the adapter sleeve enables the bike rack to fit both 2 inch and 1-1/4 inch receivers. And it has soft, rubber anti-sway cradles which prevent bike-to-bike and bike-to-vehicle contact. It holds bikes in place without damaging paint and secures bikes with the rubber straps. The cradles also slide along the arms to accommodate many different types of bikes. And the dual arms offer stability for bikes during transport. The arms pull down with the pull of a pin, for convenient storage. And a bike adapter bar may be required to mount some bikes on the rack. The upright mast tilts forward to get into the back of your SUV or trunk, as needed. And the integrated cable lock in the rack arms secures the bikes to the carrier. Now, the receiver bolt comes along with just a regular anti-rattle hitch bolt and another one that also accompanies a lock that you can use to secure your rack to the vehicle itself. 1:24
We will go ahead and show you all of these features and more in greater detail as we place this bike into the rack. Now, first off I am going to show you how this switches from a 2 inch to 1-1/4 inch hitch. You will notice that there is a little cross section here. And this is actually a sleeve that goes over the 1-1/4 portion of it and simply just slides off the top like so. And now it is ready for a 1-1/4 inch application. And since we are going to be using a 2 inch hitch today, we will go ahead and put the shim back on. 1:54
Now we will go ahead and actually place it into the 2 inch hitch and show you the anti-rattle bolt. Alright, we will go ahead and set this into the hitch. Line up the holes and then we will go ahead and install our locking anti-sway bolt. One shake test and it is ready to go. And once the locking hitch pin is installed, just go ahead and take the lock and lock it into place. Next we are going to show you the tilt feature. Now, to do this there is a pin at the base of the center mast. You just pull that clip out of the other side. Pull the pin and it will come and tilt towards you. This way you can get into the back of your SUV or trunk. Next we are going to show you how the arms themselves fold down for easier storage. What happens is there is a pin that you just unsnap, pull out and then let the arms fall down. And then reinstall the pin to make sure they stay secure as you store. 3:05
Now we will go ahead and show you the cradles of the bike rack. As I have stated before, these do move front and rear. You simply maneuver them like so and they will stay in place. They also come with an anti-sway cradle, shown here, and the rubber straps which secure the bike to the actual rack. Moving forward, you see the second lock here. We have installed it and it is just a cable lock you pull out like so. You wrap it around your bikes and on the other side is the actual locking mechanism itself, or the locking pin, which you simply put on like so. And then lock it into place. Before we put the bike onto the rack, let us go ahead and undo all of the straps and get it ready. And before we install the bike, I am going to go ahead and bend the cradles down just to make the install of the bike a little bit easier. Now that we have shown off a little bit of the features here, let us go ahead and put a bike on this rack and show you how it works. And you just swing the cradles up. You can see that the groves inside the cradles here are actually housing the cables really well. Then we just strap it down. And then we put down the anti-sway cradle here. Tighten it down as well. Now your bike is secure and ready for transport. But before we go, we are going to go ahead and lock this down too, just for a little bit of added security. Pull out the cable lock like so. And depending on how many bikes you have, you wrap it around the frames of those. You bring it back and lock it on this, here. And it is secure. And to unlock it, there is the key lock there and that is how you get them off. And there you have it for part number A30403XT, the SportRack Evader bike rack.

Great bike rack for the price! Has all the features I wanted. Should be shipped separately from trailer hitch, box was damaged and one of the parts bags was ripped open. Luckily all the parts were there. Plenty of clearance from the spare tire for 2011 Rav4. Can actaully open the rear door over 1/2 way when the bike rack is tilted down. 21277

I’m taking this time to write a review on the Sports Rack Evader 3 Bike Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting - Hitch Mount - A30403XT , we just received 2 hours ago. Assembly was a breeze. All parts were in the shipping box, and it arrived in a very timely manner, and is already on the 2011 Camaro SS V8. The overall bike rack, is very strong and sturdy. I was a little leery it might not keep the bike steady as I drove, because when standing beside the bike, in the rack and secured, you can shake it pretty well. Yet when you go to actually drive, you’d swear the bike was welded to the rack: only moving ever so slightly, which is necessary, if you know about that kind of thing. In the past, I had the kind of bike rack where the wheels rode in their pans, and it shook all over the place. I’d seen this kind of rack before, but always thought they wouldn’t be secure, but let me tell you, this thing is amazing. You’d never know you even have a bike behind you. Upon placing our order, we received immediate emails thanking us, and the next day another with a tracking number. I highly recommend this company and this particular rack. I give it and the company a 6.5 stars on a one to 5 star rating. Very, very pleased. 34079

I am very happy with the Evader 3 bike carrier. It's easy to assemble and works well. It's great to be able to lock the rack to the car and the bikes to the rack. I use it with a 1 1/4" hitch, so can't comment on how it works with the 2" hitch adapter. As a side note, I was VERY impressed with how quickly etrailer shipped it to me. I recommend both the rack and the etrailer.28729

The Sportrack Evader bike carrier is very solid and securely holds the bikes. It was straight forward to assemble and install on my Subaru Outback. The rack is solidly built and when bikes are installed on it they are very secure. The rack works well with my 2 inch Draw-Tite hitch, the rack sits close to the hatch when upright but folds away nicely so that the hatch can open. Order processing and shipping from etrailer was lighting fast. 9379

The Sportrack Evader bike carrier is very well made. Installed on a Volvo XC90, the carrier easily clears the hatch when tilted away. The verticle bars fold down and lock in place easily to allow the carrier to stay on the vehicle when not holding a bike. The anti-sway cradles and rubber straps grip the bike firmly without marring the finish. I use the carrier to transport 2 Giant touring bikes, with room for a third. 7628
