Specs:
Prorack is perfect for value-minded riders seeking a hitch-mounted bike rack. This affordable 2-bike carrier features a straightforward design that ensures your bikes will get from point A to point B without a hassle.
The cradles on this rack rotate and slide along the dual arms to ensure proper bike spacing. These rubber cradles include hook-and-loop straps (similar to Velcro) that hold your bikes in place, helping to prevent bike-to-bike contact during transport.
The dual arms are easy to load, offer excellent bike support, and reduce the need for bike adapter bars. However, an adapter bar (sold separately) may still be required for some women's, children's, and alternative bike frames.
This rack tilts forward, away from your vehicle, for easy access to your rear cargo area. Simply remove the pin and clip from the base of the rack and lower the upright mast.
The threaded hitch pin works as an anti-rattle device to reduce vibration, noise, and wobble in the hitch receiver during transport. A hitch lock and cable lock (Y07238 - sold separately) are available to secure the rack to your hitch and your bikes to the rack.
This rack comes with an adapter sleeve that lets you use the 1-1/4" shank in a 2" trailer hitch. Just slide the sleeve over the bike rack shank and secure it with a screw.
Stabilizing straps are included to ensure that your bikes are tightly secured during transport. The short wheel strap lets you anchor your bike wheels to the bike frames, preventing the wheels from spinning and putting unnecessary wear on the axles. The long strap allows you to secure the bike frames to the bike rack to help prevent rocking and side-to-side movement.

Today, we'll be reviewing the Prorack 2 Bike Carrier, part number PR8062403. Now, this bike rack features an upright mast and tilts to allow for easy access to the cargo area of your vehicle. The dual arms of the carrier provide a stable platform for your bikes and the solid shank provides supreme strength and durability. The adjustable rugged cradles are made of a sturdy rubber to prevent damage to your bike's paint finish and slide or rotate on the support arm to accommodate different bike frames, sizes and styles. They include a nylon strap with hook and loop closures for quick loading and unloading. The built-in anti-rattle device keeps the bike rack from wobbling while the vehicle is in motion.
This can also switch to fit an 1-1/4-inch hitch or a 2-inch hitch. Its steel construction and powder coat finish provides strength and durability while giving it a sleek sophisticated look. Now that we've gone over some of the features and specs, we'll show you a little bit more in detail on how the bike rack works. To switch from the 2-inch setting to the 1-1/4-inch setting, we'll use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screw, holding the black plastic adapter to the shank then you'll simply pop it off. Now, the vehicle that we are using for our demonstration is equipped with a 2-inch hitch receiver.
So we'll reattach the 2-inch adapter and show you how to install it onto the vehicle. We'll start off by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the hitch receiver and line up the pin holes. You'll thread the anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes and tighten with a wrench. Note: Be careful when handling the anti-rattle bolt as it does come greased. To tilt the mast, simply remove the pin and clip at the base of the carrier and tilt it back.
Now, we have full access to our cargo area but keep in mind the tilting feature is not meant to be used with the bikes loaded. We'll load up several different styles of bikes to show you how they interact with the rack. We'll first show you how to load up a mountain bike with an odd shaped frame. We'll undo the cradle straps. Place the bike adapter bar onto the frame cradles and bring the straps around the bike adapter bar, securing the bike to the bike rack.
We'll then load up a normal road bike. With our cradle straps undone, we'll place the top bar of the frame onto the frame cradles. Bring the straps around the frame and tighten it down, securing the bike to the bike rack. We'll now remove these bikes from our bike rack and we'll load up our road bike and our children's bike to show you how they interact. And that completes today's review of the Prorack 2 Bike Carrier for 1-1/4-inch and 2-inch hitches, part number PR8062403.
