I never put anything excellent, so good is good. First I will say it was easy to put together 5 minutes maybe. Took longer to get out of box than put together. A 5 year old can do that part. Set up for the bikes was easy. About a minute or so fer each bike. Reason I bought this was because my wife's bike is a step-through and requires a bike beam which I do not like to use. They do fail on rough roads. This should do fine. Looks like the steel is heavy enough and the welds look good. I will still use a bungee strap to secure the bikes. Just don't trust everything. 2 Items I do not like. First is the plastic 1 1/4 to 2 adapter. I believe it will work fine but is it fails I can always buy a metal one for $10. The second is the pin used to secure to the hitch is not the same diameter all the way through. But then this is used to keep vibrations and noise down. Will see how it works over time on rough roads I guess. But over all looks good. 128629

The bike rack fits great. We had to wait a while for a company to make a reese hitch for the 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The bikes ride great just a little wobble. We had a little concern with the heat from the exhaust exiting in the middle of the rack. There is no problem with the heat. We are still able to handle the rack after transporting the bikes at any distance. There was no heat transferred to the bikes at while moving. We still would watch the heat to the bikes if we were caught in a traffic jam for any length of time. 94983

This product is a total waste of money. I used it once and the plastic knobs used to tighten the bikes in place are very shoddy. They broke in my hands when I tried to tighten them. They must be very tight or else the bars that go over the bike frame will pop up and your bike will spill onto the road. After it broke, the bolts were exposed and I could not find a wrench that was skinny enough to loosen it up. I ended up using a vice grip. I had bought extra knobs at a local harward store and they too broke. This product just requires too much strength to tighten everything and be secure. I do not recommend this product to anyone, ever. I am very disappointed as etrailer said I could not return the product of a full refund because I bought it back in June (I first used the rack on October 1) even though I only used it one. So now I am stuck with this rack and have to carry a wrench with me everytime I use it. It also takes a considerable amount of time to use the wrench to loosen and tighten everything. I have to stop driving everynow and then and check the rack and retightening everything. What a pain to deal with. 25234

This rack is so close to good but has some seriously fatal flaws- as mentioned by others, it is impossible to hand tighten the hooks that keep the bikes attached to the rack. I bought a rachet to be able to safely keep my bike on the rack. The fifth time I used the rack the carriage bolt turned in the holder and striped out the holder rendering it worthless. I replaced it with a standard bolt and now have to carry two wrenches to keep my bikes on the rack. The bikes WILL fall off if you don't use a tool to tighten the hooks. At this point i have completely removed all the hardware that came with the rack hooks and replaced it with my own bolt and a series of washers. It does work, but if you're not a diy-er don't even think about buying this rack. The plastic wheels that keep the wheel holders to the rack are also a major pain to tighten. You won't have to do this every time, but when i have to make adjustments there is always cursing involved. Take my advice- spend a few more bucks and get a better quality rack. I've already spent the difference on tools and hardware, and the rack is still a pain to use. 45067

I chose this particular rack because Im cheap. I admit it, I also admit that I do not buy anything without reading reviews first. The reviews for this rack were great so I figured I would give it a shot. etrailer.com were awesome, I purchased a hitch a couple weeks before and they noticed that so they shipped the bike rack the same day as a thank you for being a returning customer. Thank you. Now for the rack. This rack is nice and solid. I expected the wheel chocks to be cheap metal anywhere from 1/4 to 3/8th stock but they ended up being 1/2 which is super nice. For the price and type of rack, this thing is nice. I almost regret not going for the 4 bike setup. If youre like me where reviews and price matter I would 100% suggest this rack to you. I also bought a hitch lock to bring my total up to the $150 free shipping threshold. My only suggestion would be to ship at a reduced rate rather than getting it out a day sooner for return customers. I would rather save a few bucks than receiving it here a day sooner. 53686

Great produce at an excellent price. All parts needed for assembly included with detailed instructions. Easy assembly. I do have two negatives about the rack. First, due to the design with the different hinges and pins, the rack seems a bit shaky and wobbly going down the road loaded. Despite that, it is very secure and I am comfortable with my bike on this rack. The other negative is that somehow the frame hooks got squeezed together too much somewhere in the manufacturing or packaging process. Right out of the box they would not fit over the upright rail. I had to beat on them with a hammer to open them up to go on. Now that they are on, I love this rack. Would definitely purchase again from etrailer! 38544

This race is very nice and it holds the bike on very nicely. I purchased a rack last week when I got my new bike but had to stop 3 times on the way as it did not hold the bike secure and I thought it was going to fall off. I have no worries with the ps63134 . The hooks were to tight and would not slide on the the up and down bar. I had to spread them just a little to get them on and for them to slide but the wheel loops were also to tight and would not slide on but I could just spread them a little and they work GREAT. I'm very happy and very pleased with this rack it is really the first one I have owned for a hitch mount. My local bike shop has a rack that is similar to yours other than it had teeth like the old bumper jack it might be a step up from yours but it was 279.00 dollars but to be honest I very glad to have found yours and again I'm very happy with it. 35388

Brilliant product! It took me less than 15 minutes to put it together and it is nso easy to put the bikes on. I had a "T" bar type rack but my wife go a new ladies bike and that those not work with the T type rack. It's easy to put on and take off and folds nicely for storage. 138865

This rack is adequate but not excellent. I made two trips to Florida and back, one in 2012 and one in 2013. I used rope and straps to reduce some of the sway and wobble but here is where I particularly recommend the ropes or straps. The tightening knob on the hook that goes down over the crossbar of a bicycle needs be tight but I WOULDNT RELY JUST ON ITS TIGHTNESS to secure the bicycle on the rack especially on a long trip. If you get this rack, I would use ropes or straps to make sure the hook remains in place even if the knob should loosen.

Pros: It gets the job done. Cons: VERY difficult to get the plastic wingnuts tight enough to prevent slippage of both the wheel cradles and the bike frame holders. I have to use a large adjustable wrench on these. Since I carry the same bike, the wheel cradles only require one instance of that process, but the bike frame holder must be moved up/down each time the bike is unloaded/reloaded. There is also a lot of play at each junction point - at the trailer hitch, and each hinge point of the rack itself. This allows for a lot of overall wobble, but doesn't seem to cause any problems so far. It may be normal for racks of this type. 16570

As they say, "you get what you pay for. This is an excellent example. For what I paid, I got a mediocre piece of equipment. I have a 2" receiver, and the adapter is a piece of hard plastic that goes over the bar. I expect that to last a year or two. The entire rack shakes and vibrates more than I should think is acceptable. Do not buy this for long distance travel, I wouldn't. We are using these carriers for short trips, less than 50 miles. All I can say is that I hope this will last until I can save for a Thule, and you definitely get what you pay for, for that carrier! 94280

I received my bike rack in a timely manner/4 days. Using the instruction booklet was very simple with good pictures and not a lot of confusing parts. I really like the fact the I put it all together,by myself in less than an hour,to see how it would look on my vehicle, a Jeep Liberty, that I could lift my bike on myself. Also i could use it for only one bike, and take the rack off easily if didn't need it. I am 71 years old and my bike is a one speed, old Beach Comber, so it worked out just fine and at a great price.!!! Thanks! 220891

This rack will be used to transport a road bike with a flat top tube and a mountain bike with sloped top tube. When first assembled, the pivots give the impression of being very loose and wobbly. After loading a bike onto the rack and securing it per the instructions, everything becomes very solid and stable. There is very little movement of the rack when driving over broken pavement and uneven roads. The bike is very secure. The wheel hoops are substantial, the straps are robust. The product works well. 221995

So far, so good. I've driven with this holding 27.5 and 24 inch mountain bikes for about 20 miles. The rack was simple to assemble and once I got the trailer hitch installed, it was a piece of cake to put on the car (2014 Fiesta Hatchback). The hatch can be opened without having to move the vertical bar as long as there are no bikes on it. The only issue I have so far are the straps that go over the wheels, they're velcro. I would have preferred the rubber ones but we'll see how these hold up. 222608

I received the bike rake on Thursday, and we used it on Saturday. The instructions were clear, the product did exactly what I wanted it to do,,,I can honestly say I would recommend this product, I would recommend the shipper, and the etrailer company. its kinda refreshing to have a company do what they said they would. Well done keep up the good work, hopefully Directv and a few credit card companies can look at this company and take some notes. PEACE out ! 95602

Just what I needed. I use this bike rack to carry my beach cruiser and BMX style bikes with me. It is easy to assemble and easy to install. Loading bikes on-and-off is fairly easy as well. Those are the 'pros'. The only 'con' I have for this rack is that the adjustment knobs have to be turned really hard to get them completely tight to where they wont move, its not impossible just a little tough. But once they are in place you know your bikes are secure. 3933

Received my order quickly, very pleased with my purchase. Straight forward instructions and assembled quickly. Took 2 bikes out today, a trek and my cruiser. They are both girls bikes so I had the trek stabilizer turned upside down and used as a hook. Worked great! I did use a couple bungees for insurance, but overall, I am very pleased. Would recommend this product. Also appreciate the friendly customer service. 29925

We love the new bike rack. The last one we had for many years required me to lift both bikes quite high and securing the one that went closest to the vehicle was a real chore. My wife says that even she can load the bikes on the new one. The only thing that is missing is a second hole that would allow me to insert a lock to the hitch receiver so that the nice new rack does not walk off! 177675

The product is easy to assemble and use. The assembly instructions are a bit off. If you follow the assembly instructions then the bike installation direction needs to be reversed for best results. A tandem will not fit without tinkering. Rack is a bit heavy. It would be nice if it could fold for rear trunk access on a Scion Xb and Xd and similar vehicles. 98004

Assembly and installation was easy. Adjusts for any bike size. Bikes fit great. Wish it had a place to lock them in but I think my cable lock will work great for that.center post wobbles a bit but I may remove the spring clip and install a nut and bolt since it is far enough away from my trunk I will have no need to fold it down to get into the trunk. 87165

I am impressed with how fast my order arrived. Thank you! The bike rack was a little heavier than I expected but that is not a bad thing. Installed quickly and easily with only a couple of socket sizes. Loaded two bikes and drove 45 miles to a park with no problems. Bikes loaded and unloaded easy. Felt comfortable that the carrier would handle them. Appears to be a good quality and sturdy built but would prefer a USA made product over China. 141298

It came in and it looks like it will work fine for our uses. I would only ask that future models allow the long arm that goes into the trailer hitch on the vehicle is able to fold up to decrease the amount of storage space it takes up when it's off the car. 86654

  • The most economical trunk mounted bike rack that we carry for your 2010 Hyundai Tucson is the Thule Passage 2 Bike Rack, # TH910XT. This bike rack includes many of the same features as the more expensive bike racks like the anti-sway cradles and Thules Fit Dial system while remaining at an affordable price. I have attached the installation instructions as well as a demonstration video of this bike rack for you to check out. I have also attached a link to all of the trunk mounted bike...

  • Hitch Mount Bike Rack for Two 45-lb Beach Cruiser Bikes on 2012 Mazda 5
  • The hitches offered for your 2012 Mazda 5 are light-duty Class I types that have a maximum tongue weight capacity of 200-lbs. (It is a good idea to check your vehicle owner's manual to see if it has a different tongue weight capacity than the hitch). Most bike racks have a 35-lb weight limit per bike, but a few do have the build to handle heavier bikes like your two beach cruisers. However, naturally these sturdier racks tend to carry a higher price tag. Thule offers their Doubletrack...

Because of the C channel bumper on your trailer the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22 inches to 72 inches Wide, item # 13703, would be the best option to allow the use of a bike rack that will work with the camper and your Ford Escape. You will need to be sure to purchase a bike rack that is rated for use behind a trailer. We have the Let's Go Aero VeeMe V2 2-Bike...

  • Fat Tire Adapter for Pro Series Q-Slot Platform-Style Bike Rack
  • The Hollwood Racks Fat Tire Adapter Kit, part # HRSPRWH-F will fit square bars that measure 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 inches. You mentioned you have a Pro Series Q-Slot Bike Carrier, part # PS63134. Since your Q-Slot carrier has bars that measure 1-1/4 inch square, the # HRSPRWH-F will work just fine for you. This adapter can work with tires up to 5 inches wide.

  • Availability Of Hitch Bike Rack To Fit On the Rear Of a Travel Trailer
  • When using a 2-inch hitch adapter that clamps to your 4-inch square RV bumper on a travel trailer you will not want to exceed the limits of your bumper. The bumper towing and tongue capacities may be indicated on the bumper itself, but if not you could check your trailers owner manual or contact the manufacturer of your travel trailer. Also remember when using a bolt-on adapter your bumper needs to be a 4x4 inch continuous-weld steel bumper. It cannot be used on spot welded or aluminum...

  • Comparison Between MaxxTow # MT70387 and Pro Series Q-Slot # PS63134 Platform Bike Racks
  • Both the bike racks you mentioned are very similar, almost identical. The Pro Series rack is a bit heavier than the MaxxTow rack, and feels more substantial, like it's better put together. The Q-Slot can be used in Class I and II 1-1/4 inch receivers or 2 inch receiver. The MaxxTow rack works in Class II 1-1/4 inch receivers and 2 inch receivers. Both racks are pretty highly rated by our customers. Both racks are what I would consider entry level racks that are best for occasional use for...

  • Recommendation for a Bike Rack that Can Carry a Pacific Tandem Bicycle
  • The Pro Series Q-Slot Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, # PS63134, will accept bikes with a wheelbase up to, but not exceeding, 58 inches. If your Pacific tandem bike has a wheel base 58 inches or less, it will fit on this bike rack. From the research I did, I found that the Pacific tandem bikes have a wheelbase of about 71 inches. None of our platform hitch mount bike racks can accommodate a wheelbase that long. We do have tandem bike rack solutions that should work. You would need a roof...

  • Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2013 Hyundai Elantra
  • The safest and easiest solution to carry bikes on a 2013 Hyundai Elantra sedan or coupe is to install a trailer hitch, # C11303, (or # C11400 for a GT Hatchback) and use a hitch mount bike rack. This trailer hitch is a Class I so you are limited to a maximum of 2 bikes and the carrier needs to be Class I compatible. Curt also requires a stabilization strap, # 18050, when using a bike rack in this hitch. For a bike rack, I recommend the Swagman Titan, # S63400. This is a Class I compatible...

  • Can Movement of Bikes and Bike Carrier be Eliminated on Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Carriers
  • On any trailer hitch mounted bike carrier, especially platform style carriers such as # PS63134 there is going to be some movement of the carrier in the hitch receiver. Its just physics at work! There are things you can do to keep movement to a minimum. Some bike carriers will have a threaded hitch pin that pulls the shank of the carrier tight to the inside of the receiver. These will eliminate some movement but not all. So the solution is to use a secondary anti-rattle device. If you...

A Class I hitch has a maximum tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. That is how much weight that can be applied to the hitch opening.
