Sport Rider SE2 R Hitch Bike Rack

Give your bikes the royal treatment by transporting them on the Sport Rider Special Edition platform-style hitch bike rack. This feature-packed rack allows you to carry one or two recumbent bicycles on the rear of your vehicle. The rack has extra-long arms to hold recumbents with wheelbases up to 74 inches long and wheel hoop adapters to accommodate the smaller front wheels on recumbents.

Anti-Wobble Handle

1450R SE2 Anti-Wobble

An integrated anti-wobble handle on the front of the carrier tightens the bike-rack shank to your hitch receiver to prevent the rack from rattling around inside the receiver. You don't need to pull out a wrench every time you install the rack on your hitch - just turn the easy-to-access handle to keep the rack from rattling.

Precision-Slide Clamping System

1450R SE2 Hooks

Constructed of rugged steel with a sleek black powder coat finish, the Sport Rider SE2 uses cushioned hooks to stabilize your bikes. The precision-slide clamping system allows the hooks to slide up and down the rack's upright mast. Just squeeze together the push-to-release levers on one of the hooks, slide the hook to the desired position, and release the levers. The hook secures in place and cannot move until the levers are depressed again. The hooks are different sizes and each one functions independently, meaning the rack can carry two bikes of the same or different heights.

Adjustable Wheel Holders

1450R SE2 Wheel Holders

The wheel holders accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 74 inches, and you can adjust the wheel hoops by sliding them along the horizontal arms. They are secured in place with hand knobs. Velcro-like hook-and-loop straps secure your bike's wheels to the holders.

The included pair of wheel hoop adapters easily attaches to the wheel holders to accommodate the front wheels of recumbent bikes or 1 kid's bike with 16-inch or 18-inch wheels.

Folding, Tilting Design

1450R SE2 Folded/Tilted

The Sport Rider's tilting design makes it easier to access your vehicle's rear cargo area and to load your bikes. The rack folds up against the back of your vehicle when it's not in use. And the arms fold up for compact storage.

Security System

1450R SE2 Hitch and Cable Locks

The Sport Rider SE2 includes a hitch lock that secures the bike carrier to your vehicle's 2-inch receiver. The rack also comes with an 8-foot-long, vinyl-coated, braided steel cable lock that deters theft of your bikes.

Both the cable lock and the hitch lock have push-to-lock bodies and are conveniently keyed alike. Keyhole covers on the locks keep out dirt and moisture.

Add-On Adapters

The Sport Rider SE2 is expandable and adaptable. If you want to carry two standard bikes in addition to your recumbents, a two-bike add-on accessory (HR1475 - sold separately) is available.

If you want to transport one recumbent delta trike or one recumbent tadpole-style trike with the Sport Rider SE2, you can use the HRTRK-ADP adapter (sold separately). Or if you want to transport one standard recumbent bike and either one recumbent delta trike, one recumbent tadpole-style trike, or one adult trike, then you can use the HRTRK-ADP-2 adapter (sold separately).

Just want to say how pleased I am with my new Hollywood recumbent bike rack. As the pictures show, it's easy as pie loading, unloading, securing and gaining access to my Subarus Forester's hatch. This thing is a beast in terms of strength and quality. I looked at other options for my recumbent bike where the bike actually mounts facing skyward; to the tune of 800-900 bucks! So I'm glad I found eTrailer.com bc it's the right rack for my application and wallet. 135694

Expert Answers about Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2-Bike Carrier for Recumbents - 2" Hitch - Tilting - HR1450RDo you have a question about this Hitch Bike Racks?

  • Comparing the Hollywood Racks SE2 and Sport Rider 2 Bike Racks for a 2011 Subaru Outback
  • The main advantage that the Hollywood Racks SE2 Bike Rack, # HR1450R, has over the Sport Rider 2 Bike Rack, # HR1000R, is its folding capabilities. The SE2 rack can fold up toward the vehicle when you are not carrying any bikes so you do not have the entire extension of a bike rack sticking out from your vehicle. It also has the ability to tilt away from your vehicle giving you additional room to access the rear cargo area. The Sport Rider 2 bike rack also folds up, but the extension...

  • Motor homes require specially-designed bike racks that can handle the extreme forces found at the rear of such vehicles. Much in the same way that the last car in a roller coaster gets a much rougher ride than the first car, anything mounted at the rear of an RV will be subjected to forces that would damage a bike rack made for use on automobiles. The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2-Bike Carrier for Recumbent Bikes that you referenced, part # HR1450R, is suited to your bikes dimensions,...

I recommend the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider 2 # HR1000R, for carrying your Bike E recumbent bike on your Toyota Rav4. My research shows that a Toyota Rav4 could have a Class I, or Class III hitch installed on it, so depending on your current hitch on your Toyota Rav4 you could either have a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening or a 2 inch receiver opening.
