  • Trailer Hitch, Hitch Extension, Weight Distribution, 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Towing Haulmark Trailer
  • Using a trailer hitch extender like # RP11006, will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50 percent. The tongue weight of the extender itself is only 400 pounds so you will have to go by the lowest rated component which will either be the reduced capacity of your hitch when using the extender, or the 400 pound tongue weight capacity of the extender. If your trailer was loaded to capacity at 7,000 pounds, the tongue weight of just the trailer would be 700 to 1,050 pounds.

If you will be under the reduced capacity then you can use extension # RP11006. If you will be over the capacity then
