Video Transcript for Hidden Hitch Hitch Accessories PC3 Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Hidden Hitch Pin and Clip, number PC3. This pin and clip set works with the Class 3, 4, and 5 trailer hitch receivers. It fits a 2-inch receiver and a 2 -inch receiver. It has a 5/8-inch diameter pin. It is 5 1/8-inch in length from here to here as you can see that right there, and it does include this retainer clip that would just, this groove right here you would put that clip on like that. To give you a better idea of how that works we'll bring out our receiver hitch demonstrator, and one of our receiver covers.

You would just put that in like so, and then just slide that through, clip that off and you're good to go. That should just about do it for our Hidden Hitch Pin and Clip set, number PC3.

I installed the hitch plate, it was real easy. Took me longer find a wrench, than it did to install the hitch plate. I'm thrilled with the quality of the plate and how easy it was to deal. 32267

Quality Products & Quality Service This is my second time ordering from etrailer.com. I am so pleased with the selection, pricing, and customer service, that I will look here first before ordering products elsewhere. I have not yet tested the process of adding the Thule ski carrier to my Thule bike rack (our snow melted but is forecasted to return this week); however, I foresee no issues. I love the Thule rack and the ski carrier appears to be of similar quality. The hitch receiver cover was of even greater quality than expected, and a huge hit. As confirmed with etrailer.com customer service before ordering, the pin/clip were exactly what was needed to secure the cover. The order shipped out earlier than expected and because it was close to the holidays, the shipping speed was upgraded at no cost. All in all, a terrific experience with etrailer.com. I should close by saying that I do not regularly submit product/business reviews, but feel compelled to do this one because of the wonderful service and quality products. Happy holidays! J 4137

Extremely poor design. Do NOT purchase this junk! Go to a hardware store and get a real one. This pin has no hole for a cotter pin. The weak spring clip is unreliable at best. I would not take a chance on a clip design like this. 108039

Comments

I do not use this pin. Instead, I use a pin with a cotter pin hole in it.

After installing this product to my hitch cover to keep it in place I drove 1 1/2 hours on the highway to visit family. When I got to my destination I checked my new hitch cover to make sure everything was ok and saw that the cotterpin had jostled itself loose and the pin itself almost fell out too. If this had happened I would have lost the hitch cover too. When I insatlled the cotterpin and the pin everything was tightened securley, I don't know how the cotterpin came loose since I was only driving on the highway. This is a very poor product and recommend not purchasing this item. 101936

Got the hitch in 2 days and installed it myself in about 15 minutes. Holes lined up perfectly. I slid a jack stand under each side to hold it up until I could get the bolts in. Everything went better than expected. Wow. Thanks for a great hitch that looks great! 52050

Purchased Hidden Hitch Class 3, 2" hitch for my 2007 Honda CRV along with wiring harness and ball mount. Not the handiest person in the world but after installing this hitch, my handy-ego has been inflated. The videos on the website are spot on and are a huge resource for installation. Support during the sale and after were much appreciated. This is one of my top five e-commerce experiences. Well done etrailer.com! 94528

This pin works well. Only downside is the retainer clip just goes over the pin. I would prefer the retainer clip goes through a hole in the middle of the pin but the way this one is made should work. Just seems more secure on the types of pins where the clip goes through the pin. 161650

by: Nate06/25/2012

Did not realize pin did not have hole for cotter pin to go through. Would not have purchased if I had known this, i don't trust this set up at all for a trailer. Might be good only to hold a hitch cover in place. Due to price of shipping and pin its not worth returning, 45631

by: Zach R.11/20/2011

This pin is very heavy duty. The only downside about it, and this is a personal preference and has nothing to do with the quality of the pin, was the key just slips into the groove and not through the pin. I pulled a trailer from California to Georgia without a hitch. 27195

by: Paul H.01/24/2012

The hitch cover leaves a gap between the receiver and the cover whic would allow dirt to enter and will rattle. I needed one more foam spacer to correct this problem, or the pin hole needs to be in a different location so the cover will be tight against the receiver. 30240

by: Tony W.02/03/2013

It's a pin, it fits, it works. My only concern is that the clip MIGHT fall off of pin if it was inadvertently bumped....for this reason it might be better if the pin had a hole through which one threaded the clip.....much harder to lose the clip that way..... 64890

  • What Towing Package Is Available For 2008 Toyota Highlander
  • You will want to check your owners manual or with the Toyota dealer for the gross towing weight capacity of your 2008 Toyota Highlander to make sure the towing capacity is not exceeded. Even if the hitch will have a higher weight capacity than your vehicles gross towing weight capacity the towing capacity is determined by the lowest weight capacity in your whole towing setup.
