- Yes, this will work for you. This adapter, part # 80301, will convert a 2-inch hitch to a 1-1/4 inch hitch opening. That said, one concern is that it will cut your hitch tongue weight in half. So if your 2008 Sequoia has a 600 lb tongue weight (tongue weight is usually 10 percent of your hitch capacity), then with the adapter, your tongue weight will be reduced to 300 lbs.
