CIPA Hitch Accessories - CM11955

CIPA Fast Hitch Hitch Aligner

The FastHitch makes it easy for one person to hook up to a trailer without assistance. The convex mirror provides a broad field of vision to give the driver a clear, unobstructed view of the trailer coupler and ball.

  • FastHitch arms slide onto the pickup truck tailgate
  • Suction cups work great for mounting on vans and SUVs
  • Easily folds into compact size for storage

Unfortunately CIPA does not publish a critical specification - how thick a tail gate the arms will fit. When my mirror arrived I found that it would not fit on my 2010 Ford F-150. Here is the missing number, the mirror will fit tail gates up to 3-7/8 inches thick. Other than that the mirror is a great solution. It is a full 9 inches in diameter and shows up well in the truck's interior rear view mirror. In the end I decided to make an adapter (see photo) so I could use it. A side benefit is that I do not need to fold back the tonneau cover to use the mirror. 10711

Nice adapter! And thanks for letting us know the tailgate thickness measurement!

The device is simple and quite effective. It doesn't break like cameras. The set up is around 5 seconds. Yes, it doesn't have a wide field of view. You have to get in the ballpark. It is amazing how your body seems to know how to turn if you look at the mirror directly or through the rear view mirror. If you are looking through many dark windows, try putting light colored tape on the hitch and receiver to make them easier to see. Forget using this in the dark or low light conditions. 20805

Really flimsy. I doubt it will last one season, but it does work well. 76677

I have been using mine for the past 8 or 9 years and it has not broken or deteriorated at all. I keep it in a cloth drawstring bag when not being used and in a place where it will not be bumped or stepped on. It is a great, simple to use aid in hooking up!Barney

Just what was listed, including comment that F150 owners will need to adapt the unit with PVC pipe to fit the wider width of the tailgate. Item arrived on time and in a good protective package. 156203

I have used this product for years. Unfortunately I lost it and had to replace it this year. It makes hooking up to my boat trailer a lot easier even when I have someone to guide me. 121776

  • Recommendation for a Backup Mirror or Camera for a 2000 GMC Sierra and Horse Trailer
  • If you are looking for something economical and/or do not plan to tow very often, the CIPA FastHitch Trailer Hitch Aligner, # CM11955, that you have refereed would be a good choice. It is easy to install and all you have to do is get it pointed where you want it and start backing up. The down side is that the mirror can only reflect so much area and you may have to repeatedly back up to get it lined up just right. I recommend a backup camera. You will be able to see the trailer the...

  • 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Does Not Stay Level when Trying to Hook Up to Trailer
  • A 5th wheel trailer hitch head is not supposed to stay level when hooking up. It needs to be tilted down towards the trailer. Then when you back up the trailer essentially ramps up onto the hitch. It you try to do it any other way you can end up high hitched which means the king pin is resting on the jaws instead of the jaws wrapping around the king pin. Take a look at the picture I have included that shows the right way to hook up along with an example of what to avoid. To make it...

  • Can More than One Camera Be Used at a Time with the Peak Wireless Backup Camera
  • Peak does not offer the ability at this time to run two or more cameras on one system. We used to carry a system that you could add additional cameras to, the HIndsight, but it is no longer available. I recommend a simple solution for this issue. You can use the camera for one of the trailer types and then use something like the CIPA FastHitch, # CM11955. Or even something like balls on sticks, # 53410. It is a more analogue, old school way of doing things but they work.

  • Recommended Rear-View Camera Solution to Assist Hitching Gooseneck Trailer
  • Although many of the camera systems we offer might be modified or altered in some way that would allow the camera to mount to the inside of the rear window glass, none of them are designed to mount that way directly out of the box. My best recommendation for a camera-type solution would be the Swift Hitch Portable Wireless Camera System, available with a 4-hour battery, part # 04928 or a 10-hour battery, as part # SH02. Both systems are rechargeable and the cameras can be temporarily...
