- I checked the instruction guide for installation of the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 31374, to your 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. The guide says that trimming the front fascia is optional but not necessary. The front fascia will flex with part # 31374 installed on your 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. No, you do not need to trim the front fascia to install the hitch receiver.

- Do the Front Tow Hooks have to be Removed For Front Trailer Hitch Installation, 2009 Dodge Ram 1500
- To install the CURT Front Mount Receiver, # 31374, the tow hooks will need to be permanently removed. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. Removal of the tow hooks is the first step. Since the hooks will be removed, the bushings you see will also need to be removed so the hitch can be properly installed.

- I spoke with my contact at CURT about the front mount hitch, # C31374. He stated that they have not seen any fit issues with a Big Horn edition of the 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 so it should fit. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
This hitch would be great for a winch. If you need a trailer hitch mount winch mounting plate, you may be able to use the CURT model, # C31010.

- I do not have any information regarding the capacity of the OEM tow hooks. The 9000 lb line pull refers to the fact that the receiver is capable of pulling 9000 lbs in a straight line from the receiver opening (not at an angle from side to side or up and down). In order to install the receiver, the OEM tow hooks would need to be removed.
