Here are a few pictures of the hitch on my 2012 Avalanche. The ones from underneath didn't come out as nice as I had wanted. 36753

So far so good! Looks and feels like a high quality product, the welding looks great, everything was fabricated square and accurately. The first thing I did was remove the lower black fascia from my truck so it is easier to properly locate the hitch. Once properly located on frame of truck and mounting are holes are marked all you have to do is simply drill four 17/32" holes and fish bolts thru frame. The fish wire that is provided to pull the bolts through the frame was ingenious, someone was really thinking when they designed this. This was truly a breeze to install. 46385

e-trailer service and shipping were fantastic! As far as the Curt front receiver for 2007 Tahoe, the product is very well made and the install took about 1 hour. The ground clearance is not good. Ground clearance on my 2007 Tahoe is 7 inches and the angle of approach is half what it used to be. Angle of approach with my receiver winch is unacceptable. I also purchased the Roadmaster 10,000 pound 6 inch high/low hitch adapter and that helps to get the winch up, but the receiver is still plowing through mud. If you have a 2007+ Tahoe, get the Curt front mount skid shield to avoid catching the receiver hitch on rocks or driveways. I'd rather have a receiver through the license plate area or higher for better ground clearance and no loss on angle of approach - so I'm looking to custom build one since I can't find a manufacturer that makes one. 105679

I ordered my Front Receiver for my Suburban back in January and received it about 3-4 days later. I was extremley pleased with the order process. I finally got around to puting it on in March???? Installation was a breeze, you do have to drill 4 holes but it was no big deal. Then I thought the hard part was going to be fishing the bolt/washers into the drilled holes but it was a piece of cake and actually was kinda fun. The "fishing" lines provided in the kit were great and they are now in my tool box in case I ever need to go "fishing" again. The Hitch works great and makes moving my trailers around a snap. I chose not to trim the front spoiler because it looks fine to me. I also now have a really neat step to get under the hood and I am going to add a winch stand and other toys to it. Thanks the product is great!!!!!!!!! 9984

Good Product/Install, Loss of Ground Clearance Install directions were detailed and straight foward. Having the right drills, bits, and sockets make the project easy. I spent 1.5 hours verse the recommended 45 minutes as a non-professional installer. Very pleased with the product, but instead of having to trim any fascia, the lowest part of the receiver sits below the fascia, making this the lowest point of the vehicle. I was hoping the receiver would maintain the vehicles stock ground clearance, but it is just too low. I installed this to carry a portable mounted winch and it may be too low to do this job effectively. 4283

Super fast shipping, but could use better packing.Hitch actually made a large hole in box,UPS driver had me check to see if anything was missing.Easy install, but try finding a 17/32" bit. After seeing how big the front opening is I just used a 1/2" bit. I think it took longer to remove, trim and reinstall the front spoiler than the rest of the job. Looks great installed 154795

Hitch was ordered, delivered in a timely manner. Suggest you offer 17/32 drill bits as I have visited Lowes, Home Depot, and 5 independent Hardware stores, no one has this size drill bit. I do not wish to use a readily available 9/16 drill bit, but may have too!!! 118018

  • Fascia Trimming Required to Intstall Curt Front Mount Receiver Part # C31012
  • To install the Curt Front Mounted Receiver, part # C31012 the lower portion of the front bumper fascia will either need to be removed or trimmed. The instructions provided for this receiver are very specific and comprehensive complete with color photos and a diagram showing where the fascia piece needs to be trimmed as well as the dimensions for the trimmed portion. • How Much Ground Clearance is Lost with Curt Front Hitch Installed on a 2007 Chevy Suburban
  • To determine the ground clearance with Curt front mount receiver # C31012 installed on your 2007 Chevy Suburban you will need to take some measurements. At the very front of the vehicle at the bottom of the front fascia measure down 1 inch. This is approximately where the bottom of the receiver will be once installed. Measure from the ground to this point to determine ground clearance. You should only be loosing an inch or so. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.

  • Front Mount Hitch Receiver that Does Not Require Drilling for a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500
  • Draw-Tite front mount receiver # 65064 mounts to different locations on the 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 than Curt hitch # C31012 or # C31069. I have included links to the installation instructions so you can see how each one installs. I am of the opinion that no drilling is the much better option then one that requires drilling. Drilling into a vehicle frame isn't easy because the frame is so strong. So avoiding that is a good thing! That is why if it were my truck I would choose # 65064.

  • Front Mount Hitch Receiver Location on a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe LT3 Z71
  • I spoke with my contact at Curt and he told me that there is only one mounting option for the Curt Front Hitch, # C31012. This hitch was designed to mount to the underside of the frame rails, hanging below the frame as it is pictured (see photo). He also told me that this hitch was not designed or tested to mount in any other orientation and doing so could not only cause damage to the hitch and your vehicle, but would void the warranty of the hitch. If you would like to determine where...

  • Most Hidden Front Hitch Recommendation for a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500
  • The most discrete looking front hitch for your 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 is going to be the Curt hitch part # C31012. This hitch would not have a visible cross tube like the Draw Tite # 65064 that you referenced has. The hitch opening of the Curt attaches to the bottom of the cross tube whereas it attaches in front of it with the Draw Tite. I attached a picture we got from a customer that shows the Draw Tite installed for you to check out as well where you can see the cross tube.

  • Recommended Front Mount Hitch for 2015 Chevy Silverado for Snowsport Snow Plow
  • I'd recommend using the Curt # C31069 front mounted hitch for your Snowsport Plow, because of the improved ground clearance it offers compared to the Curt # C31012. This being said, in order for your Snowsport plow to work correctly, the bottom of the receiver tube needs to be within 8-16 inches of the ground. I'd recommend you take a measurement from the bottom of the front frame member to ensure the receive will be at the correct height. Measure down from the underside of the frame...

  • Differences Between Curt Front Hitches for a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500
  • Either Curt Front Hitch part # C31069 or # C31012 will fit your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. I confirmed this with Curt. The biggest difference between the two is that the # C31069 will hang down 6-3/4 inches from the mounting surface (truck frame), and the # C31012 will hang down 8-3/16 inches.

  • Installation Recommednations for SnowBear Snow Plow on 2014 GMC Sierra
  • A trusted mechanic should be able to handle the installation for you. According to Curt, installation of their # C31012 front receiver should take around 45 minutes to an hour for an experienced installer. Once the receiver is installed, the plow will require assembly and electrical connections to the vehicle battery, and wiring the remote which should take a few hours. Any qualified mechanic should be able to complete the installation in around 3 or 4 hours. I've linked you to the...

  • Could a Front Hitch on a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 Carry a Dirt Bike
  • I am sure people have used a front hitch for a dirt bike carrier. The issues you would run into are potentially blocked headlights and blocked radiator air flow. Your 2015 Chevy Silverado does have pretty powerful radiator fans. But if it's a hot day, you are towing a heavy trailer, have a few people in your truck and are traveling on a road with a lot of inclines I would not be surprised to see that your coolant temperatures would rise. The # AMC400 would work great as a carrier...

  • Recommended Snow Plow for 2014 GMC Sierra All Terrain
  • You can certainly use a snowplow on your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. I recommend the Agri-Cover SnowSport HD Snowplow, # A40040HD. I recently saw a demonstration of this plow and was impressed by its ease of installation, durability and its ability to take on hard snow banks, hidden stumps and curbs. I have included a link to all the base plate kits for the Yukon XL in case you have different model. I spoke with my contact at Curt about the Front Hitch, # C31012. • Availability of Front Mounted Trailer Hitch for Carrying Bikes on Front of 2011 GMC Yukon XL

The hitch would work fine for carrying a bike rack, but my fear is that having bikes at the front of the vehicle will obstruct the driver's view, possibly to the point of being unsafe. The bikes could also possibly block the headlights, further leading to visibility problems. The Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk, part # CC-275 would be a infinitely safer alternative in my opinion.
