Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

• Front Mount Hitch #65005 fit on 1997 Silverado Z71 4wd
  
• The Draw-Tite Front Mounted Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 65005 will fit your 1997 Silverado as long as it's a 1/2 ton model with the 6 lug wheels. It will not fit the 2500 and 3500 models with the 8 lug wheels. You will most likely have to remove the fascia to install the hitch. After it's installed, the fascia can be trimmed to allow the receiver to pass through it, and re-installed.

• Does Front Air Dam Need to Be Trimmed to Install Front Mount Trailer Hitch on a 1998 GMC Yukon 4x4
  
• In order to install the Draw-Tite front mount trailer hitch, # 65005, the air deflector/fascia must be trimmed or removed on a 1998 GMC Yukon 4x4. I have included a link to the installation details for you. You will also need to determine if the front axle can handle the weight of a carrier and bikes. Keep in mind that your view will be limited with something mounted to the front and air flow will be reduced.
