I am submitting this review even though all of your customers MUST know you have one of the best, if not THE best, trailer company in the USA. You have the best products, the best selection for various applications, and no other company can beat your prices... I already purchased a lot of your products and believe me when I say I did extensive research on the exact same products before submitting my orders due to my limited funds. All of your staff are kind, courteous, patient (when it comes to helping a trailer-newbie, such as myself) understanding, very knowledgeable, and professional. Submitting an order is easy, and all of my various orders where shipped almost instantaneously and arrived on schedule. You are the best... and then, there are all the rest! Thank you for having such a great operation!

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2004 Lincoln Town Car
The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13503 would be an excellent choice for your 2004 Lincoln Town Car. This is a fairly large plate-fin transmission cooler that should do an excellent job keeping your transmission fluid cool. Other than the # D13503 you would also want the Derale Radiator Adapter # D13014 so that you would not have to cut or flare any lines. I attached an FAQ article on transmission coolers for you to check out also.

  • Recommend A Transmission Cooler and Fittings For 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis
The item you selected, the Derale Transmission Cooler, part # D13611 will work on your 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis as long as you have room to mount it on your vehicle. The ideal place to mount a transmission cooler for maximum cooling efficiency is behind the grill of your 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis but in front of the radiator. Part # D13611 is a plate and fin cooler and is very effective in cooling the transmission fluid. You will want to measure at the front of your vehicle to make...

  • Radiator Adapter Fittings for Installing a Transmission Cooler on a 1996 Ford F-250/350
For your 1996 Ford truck there are threaded fittings in the radiator which are input and out put from/to the transmission cooler. The fittings allow you to replace the existing fittings with ones that have flared ends for the hose in a supplemental cooler so you do not have to cut and flare lines. Use kit # D13014 if the radiator uses 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch threaded fittings, or use kit # D13024 for 1/2-20 inverted flare fittings. You do not need both kits unless you are not sure of what...

  • Adapter Fittings For A Transmission Cooler In A 1999 Ford F-250
We currently offer two different female adapters for Ford: Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Ford and Lincoln # D13024. This comes with a 1/2" female inverted flare fitting. Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Ford and Mercury # D13014. This comes with a 1/4" female NPT fitting. If neither of these are a fit then you'd want to check out your local auto parts or hardware store, which would likely have a better selection.

  • Installation of a Derale Transmission Cooler on a 03 Ford Crown Victoria
Installation instructions for transmission coolers are pretty universal, but there are some variances between different vehicles. With that being said, I do not have specific installation instructions for a Derale Transmission Cooler # D13503 on a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria. I can offer you basic installation instructions that will apply towards your vehicle but will not be entirely specific. The first thing you will want to do is locate the return line of your factory transmission cooler....

  • Installation Of Supplemental Transmission Cooler For 1992 Ford F-150
Installing a supplemental transmission cooler will help maintain the temperature of your transmission fluid and helps ensure your transmission functions at its best. It would be used in addition to the radiator you have on your F-150. Per my contact at Derale you will need to splice into the metal lines that you currently have when you install a supplemental transmission cooler. When choosing a transmission cooler, the most important thing you want to know is where it will fit so that...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation For A 1989 Ford F-250 With 460 c.i. Engine And C6 Transmission
Thanks for checking back with us for your towing needs. For your 1989 Ford F-250 with the 7.5L (460 c.i.) engine and towing a 7500 lbs trailer I would recommend using a Class IV transmission cooler. The Class IV rating will handle towing up to 12000 lbs. The Derale Series 8000 Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13504, that you have referenced is a plate-fin cooler and is one of the best Class IV coolers we carry. The Derale transmission cooler will fit inline with your factory transmission cooler. The...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 1988 Ford F-350 with 460 Cubic Inch Engine
I'd recommend a larger transmission cooler for your 1988 Ford F-350 with a 460 cubic inch engine like the Derale part # D13504 which measures 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep. This is a larger plate-fin style cooler which is going to be very efficient and provide the best cooling. To make the install easier you'll need the fittings # D13014 and # D13024 which make attaching the hoses to the radiator fittings much easier since they thread right on.

  • Appropriate Replacement Transmission Cooler for 1987 Ford F-250 4X4 With C-6 Transmission
Transmission and oil coolers are not vehicle-specific so you can use the largest one that will fit in the available space you have to mount it. You can start by measuring the available mounting space within the engine compartment and then select the largest cooler that will fit. An aftermarket cooler is a great way to provide supplementary cooling in addition to that provided by the OEM cooler in the radiator. The Derale # D13504 you referenced is a high-efficiency Class IV plate-fin type...

  • Cooling Power of Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13503 on 2008 Ford Ranger
I spoke with my contact at Derale and people typically see a 20 to 30 degree drop in fluid temperature when using the Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13503, on a 2008 Ford Ranger. The exact drop in temperature can not be determined due to varying conditions such as the weight of load when towing, terrain, outside temperatures, etc. For quick and easy installation with no cutting or flaring of the hoses, we offer kit # D13014 for 1/4",3/8" NPT fittings or kit # D13035...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 1996 Ford Bronco with 302
For your 1996 Ford Bronco the Derale transmission cooler part # D13504 would be an excellent option. This larger cooler will do a great job keeping the transmission fluid much cooler. This cooler measures 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep. To make the job easier you'd then want the fittings part number # D13014 and # D13024. These will allow you to install the cooler without having to cut or flare any line.

  • Which Derale Radiator Adapter Fitting Kit for a 2000 Ford Taurus Wagon
I spoke with my contact at Derale and the reason there are two different hose fitting recommendations is because there are two possible diameter hoses that are on the 2000 Ford Taurus Wagons. To determine the correct fitting you will need to know the threaded diameter of the transmission fluid line fitting in your vehicles radiator. If you need a 3/8 inch fitting you would need a Derale Radiator Adapter Fitting Kit, part # D13014. If you need a 1/2 inch fitting I would recommend a Derale...

  • Transmission Cooler Options for a 1996 Ford F-250 with 7.3 Liter Diesel Engine
We currently have 6 transmission coolers that are recommended for your 1996 Ford F-250 with 7.3 liter diesel engine. I have included a link to them below. Even though the Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit with Fan, -6 AN Inlets - Class V, # D13960, is not on that list, transmission coolers are not technically vehicle specific, so you could install it on your truck with the proper sized fittings. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 1992 Ford F-150 Towing Heavy Farm Equipment
We can't ever safely recommend you exceed the towing capacities of a truck like your 1992 Ford F-150. However, for a transmission cooler for your truck the best option is going to be to go with the largest one you can fit in front of your radiator. The Plate Fin Cooler part # D13614 would be a great option. This is a larger cooler that measures 11W x 11-3/8T x 1-1/4D Inch and is a very efficient design cooler. You will also need the fitting part # D13014 to make the install easier. This...

Ideally you actually install supplemental transmission coolers like the Derale part # D13504 after the factory cooler so that you get the cooling power of both coolers. This means you would not have to plug the ports on your radiator. You will also want the install fittings part # D13014 and # D13024 to make connecting your radiator as easy as possible and you'd be set.

  • Fit of Derale Transmission Pan Cooler for Ford # D14208 on 1992 Ford E350 With 7.5L Engine
The Derale Transmission Pan Cooler for Ford # D14208 that you referenced is a fit for your 1992 Ford E350 van with 7.5L (460-cubic inch) V8 engine as long as it uses one of the following transmissions: E4OD, 4R100, 5R100, or 5R100W. A pan-type cooler such as this Derale offers the convenience of bolt-on installation without the need to run oil lines between the transmission and a separate cooler. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 1996 Ford Aerostar
Transmission coolers are pretty universal in application. The best way to pick one out would be to measure the space you have in front of your radiator and pick out the biggest cooler that would fit there. The Derale Transmission Cooler part # D13502 would be an excellent choice if you had the clearance for it. It measures 11W x 7-1/4T x 7/8D Inch. • Installing Supplemental Transmission Cooler on 1999 Ford E150 Van
The Derale # D13502 Transmission Cooler you referenced is a supplemental cooler that can certainly be used with a OEM transmission cooler. You'd want to tap the cooler into the return line from the factory cooler back to the transmission. The best location for the Derale Series 8000 Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13504, on your Ford F350 7.3L Diesel would be between your vehicle grille and the air conditioning condenser. This location will give you the most airflow and allow the maximum cooling ability of the heat exchanger. You will want to measure to make sure you have clearance to install the heat exchanger. Since you said you have a small cooler already I recommend running the fluid through the cooler you have and then through the # D13614, and then through the radiator. This would be the optimal way to cool your fluid. To make it much easier to install the hoses it is recommended to use part # D13024 if you have 1/2-inch-20 threads.
