Video Transcript for Pro Series Fifth Wheel Hitch Review

Today we are going to show you the Pro Series line of fifth wheel hitches. The Pro Series family of fifth wheels is a great way for people new to the fifth wheeling hobby to get into it without investing a whole lot of money. They are also a nice fit for a budget conscious fifth wheel tower. The Pro Series fifth wheel hitches are available in 15000 15K, 16000 16K, and 20000 20K pound capacities. All of these hitches include the basic functions and features needed to properly tow a fifth wheel trailer. 00:26

First up is the Pro Series 15K pound head. This head features a four-way pivot both front to back and the top plate goes side to side. The side to side pivot allows a full five degrees for easy hook up even on uneven ground. The 15K Pro Series also uses a less expensive slide bar stop to lock the king pin into the head. Next we have the Pro Series 16K head. This head is a fully floating head that provides plenty of movement side to side and front to back. This will help the fifth wheel track easier when traveling and it also makes hook up very easy. It features the same slide bar latching mechanism as the 15K but it features a fully floating head. The fully floating head will allow the fifth wheel to track a little bit easier, make hooking and unhooking the trailer easy. 01:16

Finally we have the Pro Series 20K pound head. Again the head is fully floating but this time with the increased capacity we also use double locking jaws. The double locking jaws provide more contact around the king pin and will help reduce noise. It also features a lockable latch. The latch allows you to secure and lock the jaws to prevent them from coming open when traveling. The Pro Series family of fifth wheel hitches uses traditional above bed fifth wheel rails to attach to the truck. The height of the head is adjustable from 13 to 17 inches. This includes a three year warranty. There is also a Pro Series slider kit available part number RP30092. The Pro Series family of hitches includes a 15K pound hitch part number PS30093, a 16K pound hitch part number PS30089, as well as a 20K pound hitch part number PS30119.

The hitch installed like a breeze - in less time than anticipated.. it helps that my hubby is a mechanic and knew what to do! It worked great in our Dodge 2500 Ram Diesel and pulled the 31ft Fifth Wheel. Hooking up the camper is a breeze! So glad I found your site... many more camping trips on the schedule. 38128

I found that the 5th wheel rails and frame mounts were easy to install. I would refer etrailer to anyone that ask about hitchs. I was very please with your service. It took only 6 days for my order to get from Mo. to Nv. It took only about 3hours to install that was because my truck had a bed liner. I am very please with your service. John 8807

Price is what made this product great. The best part was your youtube installation video for my application. It made it so simple compared to the mfg generic instructions. The only fault I found was the video used conical washers through out and the mfg only supplied 6 and the rest was flat washers. Really no big deal but I have this curse, I am a perfectionest.63033

  • The # PS30093, 15K Fifth Wheel Hitch by Reese will fit into your standard rails as long as they are in good working condition and installed correctly. • The Reese Pro Series 15K Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch, # PS30093, is the most economical fitment for your 2005 Ford F150. On your 2005 Ford F150 I would recommend the Reese 20K Select Plus Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider, # RP30084, which is the best if you do a lot of towing. It is a very smooth, no rattle hitch. The smaller 16K and 18K hitches are not as smooth as the 20K hitch. You would also need a Reese Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Custom Installation Kit with Brackets and Rails - For

  • The correct fifth-wheel installation kit for your 1993 Ford F-250 is the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit, item # RP30035. This kit works with all Reese fifth-wheel hitches and would work great with the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - 16,000 lbs, item # RP30047. • It does not sound like you have all of the correct hardware because there should be bolts on both sides of both rails. I am not sure how comfortable I would be with a used installation kit so I would go ahead and pop for a new one. Another reason to replace the install kit is if you are unsure of the brand of rails and they are not the same as the underbed brackets that attach to the frame, we do not recommend using them together. The minimum clearance from the top of your truck bed rails to your trailer should be at least 6 inches. You will need to purchase the installation and rail kit separately. I attached an FAQ on Sidewinders for you to check, but once you have the correct Sidewinder installed on your fifth wheel trailer you would be good to pull it with your F-150. When adjusting the hitch, you should have at least 6 inches of space between the top of the truck bed rails and the bottom of the trailer loft for adequate clearance when navigating steep inclines and deep dips. There should also be a gross trailer weight rating which is the most a trailer can weigh when loaded and ready to tow. The pay load should be how much weight you can put in the truck bed. Then you should be able to get the wedge in place with a little persuasion. A Sidewinder king pin has the same standard size king pin found on any other 5th wheel trailer so the only difference is the wedge. The Pro Series 15K Fixed Fifth Wheel Hitch, # PS30093, and Custom Install Kit, # RP50081-58, will fit your truck and it is a good economical option.
